3 Years in the Making: Our return to WDW...with diapers! SAD NEWS 7/1 page 41

Seth woke up and it was time for him to eat, too....

More Italy pictures while Seth gets some grub....

DSC00046.jpg

After Seth ate, we kept walking through WS and saw a patriotic ceremony in America which we both thought was pretty cool.....

DSC00055.jpg

We stopped here.....

IMG_2545.jpg

For some kaki gori....

IMG_2544.jpg

On a previous trip we had gotten some saki along with our kaki gori and the combination was...interesting. We decided to skip the saki this time!

Love this view...

IMG_2549.jpg

We passed one of my favorite girls in France.....

DSC00056.jpg

And decided to stop and get dessert.....

IMG_2551.jpg

On the left we have a Parisian Cosmo Slush (Ciroc Vodka, Grand Marnier, Cranberry Juice) and on the right Crème Brûlée au Chocolat au Lait (Chocolate Milk Crème Brûlée topped with Caramelized Sugar). Both were yummy but the Cosmo Slush was a bit sweet for me.

We decided to head back to Mexico and go on the Gran Fiesta Tour...figured Seth would enjoy it. Believe it or not, this was the first time Ray had been inside the Mexico pavilion!

DSC00059.jpg

DSC00071.jpg

Time for the tour (a/k/a Mexican IaSW)!

DSC00066.jpg

Seth loved it, just as he did IaSW....

IMG_2560.jpg

IMG_2559.jpg

Here he's "rolling" (as in, roll it up, roll it up, throw it in the pan). He was big on "rolling" at that point in time!

IMG_2555.jpg

As I was picking him up to get off the ride I noticed a smell. Yep, you know the one. The oh-no-please-for-the-love-of-all-that's-good-and-holy-don't-leak-on-me smell as you pray you didn't forget a change of clothes for your little one!!! :lmao: I checked his diaper as soon as we got off the ride and sure enough, we had pooh: EVERYWHERE!!! I held him in an awkward position as to make sure I didn't need a change of clothes too, and we rushed to the nearby baby center. THANK GOODNESS we were in Mexico b/c the baby center is right around the corner! So lucky!!!

Here he is after the messiness was cleaned up and a change of clothes. Snacking on puffs, no idea of what just happened, happy as a clam....

DSC00069.jpg

Well, I hate to leave you with this mess (haha....pun intended), but I will be back with the remainder of our day soon. Next update? Tons of characters and dinner at my favorite....KONA CAFE. Can you say Heaven in a Pineapple??? :cloud9:

I'm getting caught back up here on the Dis, so now I am caught up on your report as well! Seth was certainly born with the "Disney lover" genes - he's eating everything up! Love it!

great update and that baked ravioli looked very good, might have tomake some soon.

we know the blowout mess well. parker seemed to get them alot more than noelle, i think she has only had one so far...much more of a lady in that department. lol

October 5th was Jill's birthday. I think you had more fun on it than she did. As a matter of fact, I am sure of it. ;)

On your 3 days at Disney, I agree that doing MK, Epcot, and Hollywood would be the best thing to do.

Oh no, not the dreaded WDW blow-out! Glad to to hear you were able to get it all cleaned up with minimal angst.

That's crazy that the food is cheaper during the week! I'll have to remember that for our next trip!

Oh the memorable blow-outs! :rotfl: Glad it was retained and easily cleaned up though!

The F&WF snacks are making my stomach growl tonight! That slider just sounds delicious! YUM!

Eating around the world is the BEST idea. Seriously! I love food and WDW so I think your day sounds like a blast! The kaki gori looks yummy!!! Is it sort of like a snow cone Dawn?

Great morning at Epcot with lots of yummy goodies!

Glad the diaper crisis was diverted!

Can't believe how much Seth has grown and changed since your trip! Looking at the pictures really brought that home to me.

Oh No! You know it has to happen sometime during the trip! :rotfl2: MMM, the pork sandwich looks good! I was just telling Jim we have to hit F&W one of these days. ::yes::

Found your TR in your posts on the food thread and I have been reading it most of the day.

Thanks to your handy-dandy links I was able to catch up! I have been enjoying reading about your trip very much and I have to say your little guy is such a cutie, I love all the pics of him with the characters, especially Piglet!! :lovestruc

Can't wait to read about the rest of your trip!

Ah, blowouts! Great update!

Thanks for the advice. You make a great point about AK. That's what I'm leaning toward it we go. Now just gotta convince DH!

A lurker here:wave2:
I loved your practically perfect MK day! Seth really loves the characters doesn't he. I also wanted to say how much I liked the Chip and Dale p.j. pants...very fun!

I love eating and drinking my way around the world. ;)

Glad you were somewhat close to the babycare center when Seth had his blowout. :scared:

Here is my itinerary for my make-believe trip:
Friday: Arrive Late
Saturday: MK, 5:00 dinner @ Kona, visit Monorail resorts
Sunday: Epcot, 5:00 dinner somewhere in Epcot
Monday: DHS, breakfast @ Cape May, CS dinner @ Downtown Disney
Tuesday: MK, No ADRS
Wednesday: Depart

Thoughts? My plans would be to get to the parks early, stay as long as Abbie will let us, leave for rest, and return if possible (especially on days 2 and 4). I want to keep ADRs to a minimum, and for the MK day, I'm not thrilled with any of the MK restaurants short of Crystal Palace anyway. I am really going to work on DH to make this trip happen. My parents would come and are 100% on board. All I have to do is tell them when!

No rush in catching up....I'm behind too! ;) I'm so glad he loved everything...I hope it sticks!

great update and that baked ravioli looked very good, might have tomake some soon.

we know the blowout mess well. parker seemed to get them alot more than noelle, i think she has only had one so far...much more of a lady in that department. lol

That ravioli was heavenly! Seth didn't get blowouts a lot but enough to make you take 2 extra pairs of clothes in his bag!

October 5th was Jill's birthday. I think you had more fun on it than she did. As a matter of fact, I am sure of it. ;)

On your 3 days at Disney, I agree that doing MK, Epcot, and Hollywood would be the best thing to do.

Well, if it makes any difference I'm sure that Jill has been at WDW on my birthday at some (July 18th) since you guys go in July every year....so it's payback! :rotfl2:

I hate to miss AK but we really can't stay any longer than 5 nights, which gives us 4 days to play with. And 1 of those days has to be Universal since we're all dying to see the Harry Potter area (and I think Seth will love the Dr. Suess stuff). My mom hasn't been to WDW since the early '70's so EVERYTHING will be new to her and I don't want to break our necks trying to do AK and DHS in the same day.

Oh no, not the dreaded WDW blow-out! Glad to to hear you were able to get it all cleaned up with minimal angst.

That's crazy that the food is cheaper during the week! I'll have to remember that for our next trip!

I'm just glad we were near the baby center....made things much easier to deal with!

Oh the memorable blow-outs! :rotfl: Glad it was retained and easily cleaned up though!

The F&WF snacks are making my stomach growl tonight! That slider just sounds delicious! YUM!

I'm *really* hoping Seth will be potty trained next time we go. He'll be 32 months old (2.5 years + 2 months), so we'll see. And yes, that slide was yummy!

Eating around the world is the BEST idea. Seriously! I love food and WDW so I think your day sounds like a blast! The kaki gori looks yummy!!! Is it sort of like a snow cone Dawn?

Yeah, we didn't plan lunch that day for that very reason! Yes, kaki gori is exactly like a snow cone or shaved ice. I think that's just the Japanese word for it.

Great morning at Epcot with lots of yummy goodies!

Glad the diaper crisis was diverted!

Can't believe how much Seth has grown and changed since your trip! Looking at the pictures really brought that home to me.

It was so nice that day...not too hot and not too cold and lots of food/drink to keep us occupied! I know....he is so much bigger and acts so differently now. His teacher gave me a cute little gift for Mother's Day that has pics from all this year in it and he looks like such a baby from back in August!

Oh No! You know it has to happen sometime during the trip! :rotfl2: MMM, the pork sandwich looks good! I was just telling Jim we have to hit F&W one of these days. ::yes::

I think it's a requirement! And yes, that slider was so good!

Found your TR in your posts on the food thread and I have been reading it most of the day.

Thanks for reading and WELCOME!!! :goodvibes Good to have you here!

Ah, blowouts! Great update!

Thanks for the advice. You make a great point about AK. That's what I'm leaning toward it we go. Now just gotta convince DH!

Good luck on convincing your hubby! Ray likes Disney but not like I do. He's fine with going every 4 years or so but I need more than that. I think every other year is good for me. Ray is skipping the next trip (May 2013) and it will be me, Seth, my mom, Ray's sister and her son. Then we will do a family trip again (with just the 3 of us) maybe in December 2014. We're still thinking about that one!

A lurker here:wave2:
I loved your practically perfect MK day! Seth really loves the characters doesn't he. I also wanted to say how much I liked the Chip and Dale p.j. pants...very fun!

Thanks for saying hello! Nice to "see" you! :goodvibes I love those pajama pants....so comfy! I'm soooo glad Seth liked the characters...I probably would have cried if he didn't!

I love eating and drinking my way around the world. ;)

Glad you were somewhat close to the babycare center when Seth had his blowout. :scared:

You and me both!!! That was just pure luck.

Looks good! We found that Seth napped easier in his stroller than he did back in the room. But I think every kid is different and he was only 13 months then so that may not hold true for an older toddler. We tried to do one "late" night (meaning maybe until 9:00pm) and then one early night with no evening plans and then alternate them throughout the vacation. And if you have extra hands there to help, that will be good! Ray and I were exhausted and a grandma/grandpa there would have been a huge help! And granted Abbie will be older and walking - Seth wasn't walking yet during this trip (he started about a week after we got home) and so it was either carry him or put him in stroller, so that got a bit cumbersome.

So after the WDW Blowout of 2011, we decided to take Seth (in his nice, clean clothes, mind you) to meet some characters. He'd actually met all these guys except for Pluto, and since we are dog-lovers we had to make sure he met Pluto! :goodvibes At the time his word for dogs was "day-day," so we were off to meet the day-day! (He now calls all dogs "ro-ro" because Ray's mom has a dog named Zolo and that's how he pronounces it. You'd think he'd call all dogs Sherman and Eli, which are our dogs, but no...he picks Nana's dog instead! :confused3)

Here we are!

DSC00073.jpg

The line for this was about 20 minutes, and Seth was itching to get down and play. Because it's carpeted I decided to let him down. He had fun playing while we waited!

Time to see Mickey again!

The day-day! He was very interested in Pluto's whiskers!

Miss Minnie!

Right before we walked over to meet Donald, Seth started rubbing his eye SO BAD! So it looks like he's crying here but he's not. Poor little guy...his allergies were so awful this trip!

He had seen Goofy at Cape May but he LOVED this Goofy!

After our time the characters we decided to head out for the afternoon and take a nice break back at the resort. It was around 3:00 and we had a 6:30 dinner reservation and a free, relaxing night to look forward to. On our way out we stopped for some photopass pics in front of Spaceship Earth....

Mom and Dad......sttttoooooppppp!!! :lmao:

Photo0789FourBySix.jpg

After our nice break (with no pictures....amazing!) we got ready for dinner at one of my FAVORITE restaurants on Disney property....Kona Cafe!!! :worship:

Seth's ready for dinner!

DSC00104.jpg

We drove over to the Poly and just parked there - much easier than taking the boat and then monorail.

Oh, Poly, how I love thee....

DSC00108.jpg

DSC00109.jpg

Perhaps we will do this breakfast one day - I've heard it's good. We watched Lilo & Stitch for the first time (well, Seth's first at least) the other day. He liked it but not like Toy Story and Monsters, Inc. Those are his two favs right now and when they are on he does NOT move his eyes from the TV!

DSC00113.jpg

Love this place!

DSC00116.jpg

We were seated very quickly - here's Ray and Seth waiting on the high chair to be brought to our table.....

DSC00117.jpg

So pretty....

DSC00118.jpg

The entertainment for the evening ended up being the lights in the tealight holders on the tables....he loved those things!

IMG_2565.jpg

What I had been waiting almost 3 years for.......my beloved Lapu Lapu....HEAVEN IN A PINEAPPLE!!!! :cloud9:

IMG_2566.jpg

The bread and macadamia nut butter that I always forget is so good until I put it in my mouth.....delicious!

IMG_2567.jpg

We ordered crab cakes for an appetizer. These were good but they used to have a batter around them and were deep fried and they were better that way.

IMG_2568.jpg

My Tuna Oscar (blackened ahi tuna served with fried green tomatoes, tempura-fried jumbo lump crab, and wasabi hollandaise).....

IMG_2569.jpg

SO GOOD!

Ray got the Teriyaki-style New York Strip with grilled with pineapple teriyaki glaze served with mashed Yukon gold potatoes and stir-fried broccolini....

IMG_2570.jpg

His was good, too, as usual!

We were way too full to order dessert, so we just walked around the resort a little after dinner and enjoyed the atmosphere....

Polynesian mice....

So gorgeous....

Now most of you know the story of this fountain. If you don't, listen up. This fountain is MAGICAL. :wizard: But I don't know that the magic works for everyone. I know that it does work for one special Disser, Memom. You see, Memom can make a wish, throw a quarter in this fountain and that wish will come true. Specifically a wish for a new baby...yes, that's right. In summer 2008 Memom wished for another grandbaby and she got her wish 9 months later when Bella was born. Then a year later she wished for our good friend Erica (VandyFan10) to have a little one and 9 months later we got to meet Will. And then, luckily for me, in December of 2009 she wished that Ray and I would be blessed and that wish came true in September 2010. I'm sure more wishes have been made and granted. And I know that Ray and I are elated that she wished for our little guy and that her wish came true. Thank you, again, Memom!!!!

Checking out the magical fountain....

He had to say hello to Humphrey!

DSC00149.jpg

DSC00150.jpg

I will have to take him by WL on our next trip so I can get a picture next to Humphrey again to see how much he's grown!

I want to go on these one day, but we are waiting until Seth is old enough to enjoy the "kid only" areas (so we can enjoy the "adult only" areas!)....

DSC00152.jpg

Heading back to our room.....

DSC00154.jpg

What a great night!

Next update: Our last full day at Disney World..... I get to meet Ariel's long, lost twin, a morning with Mickey and Darth and Boo-To-You later on that evening!
