Today we woke around 8am and went to the breakfast room for brekkie this time taking with us a teabag each and the marmite, to go on the toast :teeth: After brekkie I rang Papillon the tour company to confirm our pick up times for the Grand Canyon combo tour on Sunday. I rang the airport and the number was unobtainable so I rang the reservation number and spoke to a representative who told me that the tour did not actually start until later that month, and we should not of been booked on it by the Las Vegas office. After some careful consideration and research on the internet, I called back and rebooked onto the Imperial helicopter tour with a collection time of 10.10am on Sunday July 2nd from our hotel the El Tovar, for the 11am flight. I was then told an email would be sent with more details. It was explained that the difference in price would be refunded to my credit card. This was a huge disappointment to us as we had been looking forward to actually going on the Colorado River, but as there was nothing we could do about it then we had to settle for just the helicopter tour. Anyway we got ready and headed out for some shopping :thumbsup2 First stop was the Tanger Outlets right opposite our hotel.

It wasn’t a huge outlet but we found the Polo shop and had a nose around at some of the other shops. We then headed over to the older Outlets and noticed a lot of places were closing down presumably due the newer Tanger Outlets opposite. We had a good wander round and I found a pair of denim shorts and soon after we left heading back towards the hotel, we carried on past the hotel and drove up a long road that eventually led back to the I15, no doubt in time this will all become developed.

As we drove back to the hotel we took a few pictures of some amusing sights.

It was now quite late in the afternoon so we decided to head back for a swim. Even though it was 5pm it was still very hot and after a swim we decided that it was way too hot to sunbathe so headed indoors and rounded up some of the washing. I think everyone else had the same idea as the laundry room was very busy and it took us about half an hour to get to use the washing machine.

Tonight we headed off to the restaurant across from the hotel called ‘Quigleys’. First impressions are that it is a restaurant used either by locals or those staying nearby. We were soon seated and drinks were ordered, I had a glass of Zinfandel and Nathan had a coke. We started with a plate of Buffalo wings to share and then I had the ribs whilst Nathan had a steak. The meal was tasty and we soon felt full. After easting we headed off back to the hotel as tomorrow was the long drive into Arizona and on to the Grand Canyon :)

Shame about your tour but at least you were able to do a different one.

It's a shame about your tour but at least you managed to get something else booked, another good day although it looks mighty hot out there.
