in a traffic accident in northern Iraq. Unfortunately that's all the info I have been able to get so far. They were outside of Mosul. Six more were injured.

Thank you everyone for your support. Titus' hasn't emailed anyone since this accident occured but since it's been a few days with no notification we are all starting to breathe easier. The email goes down regularly right now but hopefully someone will hear from him soon.

I want to say too, I appreciate all of the support that I get here on the DIS. I pass along to Ashli the things people say about praying for Titus and sending him packages and stuff to help encourage her too. It might just be a discussion board here but you guys, the real, caring people behind the posts, are the ones I tell all my worries to and where I get encouragement. Thank you guys so much for that. I really owe you all for that.

today in our local paper , it had listed three soldiers listed that were killed last week in Iraq. two in the same traffic accident. they were assigned to the 519th Military Intel. Battalion based at Ft. Bragg but had been attached to the 101st airborne. the accident was on a road between Mosul and Tikrit in northern Iraq. the light medium tactical vehicle they were riding in swerved to avoid hitting a civilian vehicle. the third was killed in an ambush. not related to the accident.

Ashli has heard from Titus this morning . We had actually stopped worrying by Monday evening because we knew the military would have already notified the family if Titus had been hurt (hence my post about breathing easier). I wish the army would have able to release the information earlier but I'm sure they did it as soon as they could.

I am very thankful that Titus is ok and wasn't involved in this accident.

Hey Pam, I don't think Titus really needs too much more in the way of packages, he's been adopted by a couple of very kind people but he does love brownies and encouraging letters if you have time. He askes Ashli for brownies in almost every email or letter even if she's just shipped a box off to him, lol.

I figured I'd just let you know (though I'm sure mom already has) that I got not only one, but TWO emails from Titus today...Man, today just keeps getting better! Hi, Ashli! Glad to see you around.

Congratulations on your graduation! You looked very pretty on your special day. I'm glad your mom was able to save some of your pictures to share with us.

I'll be sending Titus a July 4th package soon. Try not to worry about him. There are many people praying for him here, and if God forbid something was to happen to him, he will be well taken care of. My sister and her family adopted 2 soldiers from the 50th Medical Company, which is attached to Titus' unit. Her soldiers fly the medevac aircraft and are flight surgeons. I will tell her to tell them to keep a close watch over Titus. They can be his "Top Gun" guardian angels!

I am so glad to hear the Titus is safe. I remember the panic when something major happened when DH was away years ago, you go through so many ranges of emotions until you know for sure. {{{HUGS}}} and continued prayers for Titus' safety.

hahahaha! You'll never beileve what a nightmare those stupid pics were! lol! (As you can see, though I enjoy pictures, they're not as much of a big deal to me as they are to mom!) By the end of this whole fiasco, I was wishing that they'd just go away! lol! Not that it was really bad on me, but I felt so bad for mom! SHe was like having fits because she was so frantic! Haha...when she woke me up the day she discovered they were gone, I was trying to tell her sympathetic stuff like "Dont worry about it! We'll get 'em back" but other than that, I didn't know what to do...it was pretty funny!
