3 sisters + 2 worlds=5 days of Orlando fun! An Aug. '10 TR...final thoughts p. 45

I've been working at reading your TR.
I'm about in the middle, but I have a question.

I'll quote it first.
When we got to the gate, they were already letting people into the parks. It was so funny because a majority of the people were going to IOA. Hardly anyone was going to Universal Studios.
Isn't Harry Potter in IOA area?

Yes, you're right, WWOHP is in IOA. It was just an observation I made as we were walking into Islands of Adventure...everyone wanted to see Harry Potter I guess! :)

Ok is this the Hidden Magic book you speak of? Because I need to read it! That is so cool about ToT! :goodvibes

Those displays at D-Street have so many Vinylmatians! Some of those Muppet Vinylmations in there actually looked pretty cool.

Congrats on finding Jafar. I haven't seen him in a while (I think since 2008). That pic of him and Emma is so much fun.

IT's all good. When I am solo-I freak out, when I get lost.

IOA and Universal does have a very large parking ramp. Plus you have to remember which parking ramp you parked in. My dh thougt it was funny, that I take a picture of where I park and what area. After he forgot where he parked at the airport in Milwaukee, he always makes me get out my camera now and take a picture.

I know, they are pretty crazy. I agree about the Muppets ones. But since I'm not a huge Muppet fan, I've stayed away from that series. I'm trying to just stick with the park series since it relates to rides/characters.

The parking did seem confusing there even though we didn't use it. But we did get sort of lost trying to get back to the bus pickup area...:rolleyes1

Hi everyone!

To my fellow Wisconsinites and midwesterners...did you all survive Snowpocalypse 2011? :rotfl: Pretty much everything is closed here today so I finally got my snow day. Bad news is it already has to be made up! So lame! We get ONE measly snow day (which is like the first one in a couple years) and it has to be made up.

We spent most of the morning digging out...here's what our backyard looks like!:eek:

Crazy, huh?! The drifts are so high!

Anyway, now that it's almost 6 months later...it's time to wrap this TR up for real. There's not too much left to report on (and it's all the boring/depressing stuff) but here we go anyway.

Friday, August 13, 2010 cont'd

When we got back from DHS, we stopped at the Carriage House to grab some dinner at the Artist Palette. I think my sisters might've split some chicken tenders and I got the kid's macaroni and cheese. It was actually really good. It kind of stunk sitting there eating our food knowing we'd be heading home in just a few hours. :sad1: And it didn't help when there was a family sitting right next to us with their HUGE suitcases like they were just getting there. Boo.

After our dinner I went to the front desk to see if they could print our boarding passes for us which they were able to do, but the CM said then that we wouldn't be able to check our bags in the morning when the Magical Express picked us up. That meant we would have to lug them through the airport and check in there. :confused3 But once that was taken care of we headed back to our room to start packing up. We ended up just watching TV until it was time to go to bed.

Saturday, August 14, 2010
Because our flight back home was pretty early, we had to get up around 6 am for our Magical Express pick-up. We finished off the last bit of our cereal/donuts that we picked up at the beginning of the week and did one last check of the room to make sure we had everything we needed. I noticed our bill hadn't been delivered yet so we started heading over to the Carriage House to get it. Well, no sooner did we step outside our door, a CM came to give it to us. So, we were all set to go. :sad2:

As we were walking toward the Carriage House I tried to soak up as much of Saratoga Springs as I could (even though it was still dark out). I was going to miss all the pastel buildings, the fountains, and even that walk. I couldn't help but think, why can't this be our REAL home? I just love it there. :goodvibes

When we got to the ME pick-up area, we were able to check our bags there, even though the CM the night before told us we couldn't. They just printed us new boarding passes. One less thing to worry about once we got to MCO. There were a few other people waiting to be picked up too, which makes it easier to take. :) Before long our bus showed up and we were on our way to the airport. I don't even think we had to stop at any other resorts that morning.

We made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare so we called home to tell Mom and Dad that we made it alright and that we'd see them soon. I'll spare you the boring details since the rest of the morning was uneventful...our flight was on time and we made it home safely WITH our luggage this time (if you read my April TR you might remember how once we got back to Milwaukee we got a page saying our luggage got held up in security for some reason and didn't make our flight).

And so, another Disney trip was in the books. We had a great time and are definitely counting down the days until we go back in March! :thumbsup2

If you haven't already, please join me over at my PTR (see the link in my signature :)).

up next: highlights and final thoughts

We got alot of snow for us, but it's nothing like what you got - that's crazy!

Going home day is always a bummer isn't it? :sad2:

I don't think I subscribed to your PTR, I'll have to check it out!

Checked back on your report and noticed that you finished up. Those vinylmations are so cute all together. And the one that you picked out is cute too. Don't you just love being able to do so many attractions as the park is closing. And you and your sisters picked my favorites.

Wild amount of snow today, back to reality tomorrow.....

Glad you made it through the great Snowpocalypse! We got about 8inches of snow here but thankfully it wasn't the 15 they had predicted!

You only get 1 snow day?! That is crazy!

Sorry to see your TR coming to an end but how wonderful your next trip is right around the corner! :goodvibes

Oh my gosh, I can't even imagine that much snow.

I know how much you hate leaving, but at least you got to have a little more time to soak in some of the atmosphere. Looking forward to your final thoughts.

That is a ton of snow! Reminds me of last February when we got hit like that here. It took a week to recover. The end of Disney trips are always sad, but you are going back so soon:banana: Then we'll all get to read a new report!

Another great TR as usual Sarah!

I hear ya on the snow. We have more than you guys here in MA. My snow banks are easily over 6' now and the snow pack is about 4'. No place to put it anymore! :headache:

Wow that's a lot of snow! We pretty much have the same here in CT, driving around is crazy because there are just mountains of snow everywhere, and you can't see anything, and roads that are supposed to be 2 lanes are now one...it's very dangerous! I can't wait til spring when all this melts! :rotfl:

Great TR, loved reading about your trip! :goodvibes It's always sad when trips/TR's come to an end, but at least you have your next trip to think about, next month, yay!!! :woohoo:

The thing that makes it worse is that we got it all at one time. Oh well...funny, because we hardly had any snow at all this winter until Jan.

I hate leaving...the only thing that makes it better is knowing we have another trip coming up!

It was really cool getting to do some of the big attractions before closing. Maybe we should "close" a park more often! haha

Yeah, I think we got what they predicted. Funny thing is I woke up yesterday morning, looked outside and thought and we have a snow day for this?! Then I got outside to help with the shoveling...

There may be more than just one trip in the works too...;) popcorn::

:rotfl: We've had some crazy weather here in Wisconsin the last few months with the flooding over the summer and now the blizzard.

That is a ton of snow! Reminds me of last February when we got hit like that here. It took a week to recover. The end of Disney trips are always sad, but you are going back so soon:banana: Then we'll all get to read a new report!

Yeah, who knows how long it'll take to recover. The streets are so narrow but some people still don't understand that. :confused3 And walking into school today, it was walking through tunnels because the snow is piled up so high.

Another great TR as usual Sarah!

Thanks! :goodvibes

Ugh, I can't even imagine how much you guys got! I saw your one pic on facebook. :scared1: We don't have nearly as much as you do and there's nowhere to put it!

I agree. The good news is, I've noticed the sun isn't setting as early...heck, it's 4:40 here right now and still sunny! So hopefully spring will be here soon. :thumbsup2

Wow, how much snow did you guys end up getting? We have mounds like that left over from previous storms this year all over the streets here, who knows when they will melt.

Anyway, another great TR like always! :) Your next trip is coming up so fast! Hopefully the next time I talk to you the Packers will have won the Super Bowl (please please not the Steelers lol)! :cheer2:

Glad that you survived Snowpocalypse! We survived too! It took me six hours to dig out of a snow drift in front of my garage that was as tall as the garage! Crazy! We only got one snow day too.

I love the fact that you can get your bags taken at the hotel. Makes things so much easier. Weird though that the CM the night before said you wouldn't be able to. Strange.

Another great TR coming to a close. Boo! But wahoo on the upcoming March trip! :cool1: :cool1:

I love random bits of magic.... :wizard: how cool to have your names (and Orlando!) on the pins!

Looking forward to your highlights and final thoughts popcorn::

OMG a snowpocalypse it was! Michigan State canceled classes yesterday for the first time since 1978! It was epic!

Anyway, so sad your trip is over, but your next one is coming up soon!
