3 out of 4 family members got fp's for 7DMT

We purchased my son's ticket fairly late as this is the first time he's needed one (he's 3). The rest of us have non-expiring passes. I grabbed 3 fp's 2 weeks ago for 7DMT thinking we'd be able to pick up a fourth easily. Obviously I was niave.
The system defaulted him to Thunder Mountain Railroad when I "copied" the rest of the family's itinerary which actually cracks me up because he's not tall enough to ride the ride, and he's 3 which means he couldn't ride alone anyway. I called and inquired but only because I had an issue that needed to be cleared up with one of our passes. There was nothing the CM could do and told us to just visit fp services (whatever it's called) when we arrive at the park.

So do you think it's possible/probable that he will be given a fp to join us? Or should the rest of us plan on dropping those passes? (I am checking every day until our trip for that elusive extra fp so I wouldn't until that day.) My husband seems to think we should just run at rope drop but really, I hate that because I like to enjoy the view and the walk around the park. It has been suggested that I just remove his magicband and play like he's almost three but it seems dishonest and I don't want bad mojo...but it's tempting.

He's 39 inches so 7DMT was the next step for him. We idiotically pumped it up for him and I hate that he might be disappointed but waiting over an hour for a ride isn't my idea of fun. (We go non-peek times for this reason and we also return each year so I figure we catch things next year...as we will Anna and Elsa because I wouldn't wait last year and I won't again this year. )

They can't (won't) give you what's not there. Keep checking, but plan to drop them. If you do, I'd spend one morning getting there for rope drop if you can---yes, you'll miss that casual walk around the park soaking it all in, but it will just be this one time. He'll only be just-tall-enough once.

Completely depends on the CM working the attraction at the time, and you may or may not get "pixie dusted" this way. The safer option is to keep checking back for a single slot at 7DMT that at least overlaps the FP time the other 3 of you already have.

I could be wrong, but I'm fairly sure that since he isn't actually riding and due to height restrictions couldn't even if he wanted to, you are fine. As long as you have a FP+ for all the people actually riding, you should be ok.

Nevermind, I just re-read your post. I thought you meant he was too short for 7DMT, but the rest of you wanted to ride it.


The only thing you can try to do is look for a cancellation. People have had luck getting last minute cancellations by searching for one individual verses a group and taking a time window that overlaps with their other times, but isn't excatly the same.

I'd suggest you not drop the FP's you already have for 7DMT. Simply stop at guest services when you get into the park and explain the situation to them just as well as you did here. In fact, maybe print a copy of this thread and let them read it.

They have the ability to provide you with an FP for his use, and I think they would do so based on the sequence of events you described and the fact that it just seems like the right thing to do.

They do want him to ride, he's tall enough. He's not tall enough for BTMRR, which is what the system gave him.

I agree that I wouldn't drop them and I would talk to a CM at the ride, I'd bet you are more likely than not to let him on. It would be silly not to.

I would be more than happy to stay off (and my husband would do the same since it's not that important to either of us) but our daughter is 5 so the lone adult couldn't take the 2 kids at once.

I'll keep checking but I'm actually thinking that late at night the line would most likely be much shorter so if we hit it before park closing we might get on easier than at rope drop. We pick level 1 & 2 days for a reason, I suppose.

Yes, as soon as I hit submit reply. The light bulb went off and I realized I had misread the post. I was thinking he was just worried they wouldn't let all of them in the FP line without having a FP.

I don't think the ride CMs will do anything. I think stalking for a cancellation or checking at Guest Relations are better options. All they can do is say no at guest relations, and maybe you will get lucky, and they will take pity on you.

I definitely would not cancel and keep trying to secure one for him.

We had a situation during our visit where we had gone for additional FP after our initial 3 were used and we included our entire party- I think it was the Buzz Lightyear ride- anyhow, my mother didn't ride, so she still had an active FP for that ride. When we got off, we went to get another FP- this time for Jungle (Jingle for Christmas) Cruise. I didn't realize that she wasn't copied into the entire FP for our party due to the other one being unused. When we got to JC, the CM there just let her through so we could ride together (I only realized what had happened after the fact). Granted, JC is not anywhere near as popular and in demand as 7DMT, but CMs are able to use their discretion and allow people through- that's the magic pixie dust and I'm glad we got sprinkled with some.

I hope you secure a FP for him, but if not, I hope you get an understanding and pixie-dust sprinkling CM that will let you through.

** Our FP+ for BTMRR worked on Space and 7DMT ** when we were there in October, not sure why or how but it did.

And vice versa.

We had FP+ at 7DMT and it was down during our stay for like 4 hours, during our FP+ time and our FP let us onto BTMRR during the 7DMT time slot....

If you are asking if two children and an adult can ride in the same row (like on BTMRR), then no. Each row on 7DMT fits no more than 2 people.

If you can't get the 4th FP, then I'd go up to the line when it's time for your scheduled FP. Have him in the stroller and tell them you need a rider switch. Then later in the day, the parent who didn't get to ride and your son can use it to ride.
