Trying to think towards the phenomenal amount of $$$ this trip is going to cost!

We won't be going onshore to Nassau. There really isn't anything there that appeals to me or DDs, so we would just stay onboard. Is it worth the extra day aboard? Is there enough to do to keep 17, 10, 7yos busy in port?

BTW, we are planning to do 5 days at AKL *after* the cruise portion, so I want to maximize our $$!
thanks for any feedback!

Many choose to stay on board the ship when it is in Nassau. You can treat it like another day at sea. Meals are all available as are spa services, pools, movies, recreational activities, kids clubs and other offerings that will be listed on the daily Navigators. Certainly you can enjoy your day on board ship versus visiting Nassau. :)

We love the 4-day cruise, so do our kids(3&9, not 7,10 & 17). I think Nassau is terrible. We go to Atlantis to feed the slots and the Straw Market that is dockside and then spend the rest of the day onboard while the rest of the ship "tries" to find something to do offboard. Nassau looks great from the ship, especially while the ship is half empty.
If you are looking to "maximize" your $$$, then do the 3-day and skip the day at sea floating around the ocean do nothing with a capacity booked ship.

The 4 day cruise has a sea day which to me is the best part of cruising! I love spending the day at sea! So much to do on the ship or time to do nothing at all!

We are thinking the same thing. We've done Nassau, and can't afford to do the 7 night right now. We're doing the 3 night, planning to stay on the ship in Nassau. I hope to do the Western some year, but we have to get the kids' feet wet with cruising before we go throught he huge expense of a week long cruise. I KNOW they'll love it, and we will feel like there wasn't enough time on the 3 night, BUT we always feel the same way when we leave WDW (no matter how long we stay). That's why we HAVE to keep going back!! LOL
