I am, gasp, double booked right now for the first 3 nites of our vacation...

I am booked for the 6 of us at DTD Doubletree Guest Suites, for $179/night with free breakfast

AND

I am booked for 2 connecting rooms at the ASMu for RACK RATE. (about $110/night/room? for about $220/night total)

After those first 3 nights (3/27,3/28,3/29) I am booked at the ASMU connecting rooms for AP rate ($74/night/room for about $150/night total)

part of me sees it as easier NOT to move mid-trip, but another part of me sees the discount for staying DTD a few days. Just have gotten such mixed reviews, really about both hotels, and cannot figure out how inconvenient it would/wouldn't be to move mid-trip. Any input? PLEASE? If it makes any difference, we will have our minivan -- we are driving from NE Ohio.

I think it really depends on your needs. We have stayed in DTD hotels several times, and while they are not themed like Disney they do provide more space, closer parking, and better access to off property restuarants stores etc..

I enjoyed staying at the Beach Club and at the Poly. I am not sure if I would stay at a value. I think the space and proximity to parking would be an issue for me, but that's just me. :)

Friends don't let friends stay off-site :sad2:

'nuff said.

If you are already booked at the movies..then I would stay there. It will make it very convenient for you to pop over to the front desk, check in again, and roll your luggage to the new room, if they make you move at all.

Enjoy!

:cool1: I agree with Pumpkinboy. We stayed offsite for a couple nights at the Hilton across from DTD and was missing the disney magic. "If your going to Do-Disney you have to stay at Disney".

Also, I would not change resorts either. We stayed at "3" different hotels (2 were POP and WL) and never again. It was no fun to have to pack up and pile the luggage in the car and go through the check-in routine multiple times. Even if you have to change rooms at the same resort it won't be so bad.

Stay onsite for your entire vacation and have a wonderful time! :Pinkbounc

We moved resorts on our last trip and found that moving day was the day we just wanted to hang out at the resort but had no place to stay between checkout and check in. For the price difference stay at all-stars.Much easier with kids too! Plus we love on site magic!

I also would not move if I didn't need to.
If you are going to stay at the Doubletree, check around I think you can get it for less. I think (I may have my Doubletrees confused) that Dreams is offering it for less here on this site. Just go to the first page and put in your dates to check. If possible its always good to pay less! :goodvibes
