3 night Disney cruise or 4 nights at the Polynesian?

I can't decide & my family is no help, they'd be happy with either one!

Right now I could get a room at the Polynesian for the 4 nights total- 1134.00 with AAA discount.

A 3 night cruise would cost roughly 1200.00 in the lowest category.

We will be staying at the BCV for 6 nights afterwards regardless of which we choose.

We've always wanted to stay at the Polynesian but a cruise sounds like a ton of fun too.

Help, which would you choose?

I'm assuming your talking Disney Cruise, right?

We've been on 3 DCL cruises (all on Wonder - 3 day). I would highly recommend it. It's a very different vacation from WDW - one is relaxed and pampering, the other is go, go, go (at least for us). It all depends on what you like. The Polynesian is nice but similar to other WDW resorts, the cruise is something completely different.

Since you're already spending some time at DVC - maybe you should give DCL a try. It's wonderful. Check out the cruise boards, they're a mountain of information. Another great resource is www.castawayclub.com .

Let me know if you have any questions.

I would also do the cruise since you are already staying ay WDW, also your meals are included on the cruise making it more economical:teeth:

(Can you tell what my answer is?) But look out, once you do a 3-day cruise...you'll be hooked and you'll want to go back for a 7-day cruise!!! LOL

I vote for the cruise too!

Reasons:
1. maybe a little bit of alone time with your spouse or SO.
2. the kids can spend some time away from each other (assuming you have more than 1)
3. meals are included in the cost of a cruise.
4. Castaway Cay
5. Palo
6. the entertainment
7. The characters really interact with the guests - during the photo and autograph sessions
8. The cruise is very relaxing

And there are probably many more reasons. You may want to check out the DIS cruise board. Although - I will admit many of them would probably give you a very biased answer too!

I will go against the majority here, but if you have always wanted to stay at the Poly, why don't you just stay there? Also you might want to check into AP rates or something on mousesavers.com to see if you can save some money on that too. I hear the cruises are nice, but my vote goes for the Polynesian!

We have never stayed at Polynesian either and the only cruise we have done so far has been the DVC Member Cruise but without a doubt we would most definitely choose a cruise over any stay at WDW if we had an additional 6 days at WDW anyway.
A totally different experience with the cruise and well worth the change. I would think that everybody would have a great time on the cruise.

Ok the cruise won! I just booked the 9/30 Wonder 3 night cruise! :goodvibes

I'm so excited!:thewave:

Palmtreegirl, great choice. Now make sure that you check the DCL forum for great advice. You will want to maximize your time for such a short cruise and those boards are a great help (from telling you how to better your chances of getting a reservation at Palo as well as recommending a great place to camp out at Castaway Cay.) 6 days at BCW/DW is for the kids (and for parents to run around making sure that they are well entertained). The cruise entertains the kids while the parents get a well deserved vacation, too.

Great Choice!! I would take a Disney cruise anytime over a stay at one of the resorts! You are going to LOVE it!! I leave in 4 days for my 2nd Disney Cruise and the one after that is April 30th 2005.
