3 Night Anniversary Cruise w/out the Kids! More Pics added! Updated 11/12

You are correct, I was referring the Castaway Club gifts. I was confused. I really like the bag you got! We really enjoyed the cruise. I'm ready for another one - but longer.

Yes, I'm ready for our next cruise too! When that is over I'm going to have some serious PCD - lol.

Hello! Wow, what a great trip report! I am loving it so far and can't wait to read the rest!! It sounds like you and the DH had a really wonderful, relaxing trip!!! I don't have kids myself, but I really felt bad when you wrote about leaving the kids. And good for you for helping the poor little girl at the airport...poor thing, that would have broke my heart!!!

Thanks - I'm trying to get it finished up soon!

I didn't know you had a TR. popcorn::
Can't wait to go!!!
Aw, shoot, you caught me - I was going to surprise you & post the link for you guys when I was done with it!

You inspired me to write one! :goodvibes

This is great! DH and I are thinking of taking a 3 night next year for our anniversary without our 3 kids- great to read your TR! :)

Great TR! My husband and I just did the 3 day Wonder cruise over Halloween without the kids and we had a great time. We've been married 18 yrs and it was the first vacation without the kids!

Enjoy your pics!

Wow, this is a great trip report. You seem to be really enjoying (and making the most) of your child-free vacation. It is so lovely to have some 'adult only' time, isn't it :)

The food pictures are lovely - it looks as though there may be some new offerings on the menu at Parrot Cay - I don't remember them having either of thos desserts on our last cruise. I am getting so excited for our cruise next October - all these wonderful trip reports are keeping me going for the next 11 months.

Can't wait to read more.

Thanks everyone! I'm trying to get the report finished up, but the real world seems to be getting in the way! lol
My dh is already talking about what to do for our next anniversary...I just have to line up the grandparents again...:rolleyes1 Hope you guys all go & have a great time!!

Ok, sorry for the delay, real life seems to have gotten in the way and prevented me from reminiscing about the trip too much :) So where was I….oh yes, CC day... After lunch we headed up to the Quiet Cove pool and hung out in the hot tub chatting with another couple for a bit. Once again, we began to feel some rain drops and the sky was looking darker and darker so we packed up and headed to our stateroom to change up. We grabbed some snacks from Pluto’s & Goofy’s Galley and spent the rest of the afternoon reading outside the Cove Café - the chairs there are so comfy! We had some VERY heavy rain and some thunder and lightning - I began to get wet where we were so we moved inside the Cove Café where it was dry.

Here are pics of the Mickey Pool area right after the rain cleared up:

We had decided that we were not going to worry about trying to get to any of the main shows in the Walt Disney Theatre on this trip, so we had some time to kill before dinner; we wandered the ship and snapped some pics:

These are from Route 66:

The Cadillac Lounge - we met a nice man in here whom we chatted with for a bit - he is the one who pointed out to me the bar looks like the front end of a Cadillac (I’m a little slow, I hadn’t picked up on that - lol):

We made our way back to the cabin and got ready for dinner. It was optional dress up night and we were in Animator’s Palate. I was actually surprised at the number of people who dressed up a bit more than the norm. I had read so many people here on the boards saying how casual the 3 nights have become, so to see so many dressing up was unexpected. Maybe because we had the later seating it was a little dressier? Anyway, on to the food! This menu is probably my least favorite. Here are some pics:

Smoked black forrest ham and vegetable salad turrine:

After dinner each couple at our table was surprised with our own cake and singing - ours for our anniversary and the others for their honeymoons - we also received celebration pins. Here is the cake:

We had also ordered dessert!
Strawberry shortcake:

Chocolate peanut butter pie:

Because of the parade of waiters and the extra desserts, dinner seemed to take longer than usual tonight. I was getting nervous that we would miss the Til We Meet Again in the atrium, but we made it in time:

After the show we finished up our souvenir shopping at the gift shops and got back to the stateroom around midnight. We ordered some room service and decided we would take the DCL bus back to the airport in the morning so DH ran down to Guest Services to add this on.

Room service BLT, fruit cup, cookies:

Reading your TR is getting me more and more excited... but I'm not looking forward to 'not wanting the morning to come'.
We haven't even left yet and I am not ready to come home! :rotfl:
I guess I'll just have to rebook on board!!!

Great update - they must ahve changed the AP menu since I last cruised. Parrot Cay was actually our least favourite last time.

What a great getaway for you and your DH! I am missing the cruise ships so much right now and your photos are great!

Yes, I think they did too- I don't think it was the same menu in AP this past January. I used to feel the same way about Parrot Cay, but I enjoyed that more than AP this time...go figure... :confused3

Thanks, I'm glad you like them - we had a geat time. It is fun reliving it! :) I see you are doing a b2b on the Magic - that sounds awesome!!!
