Hi Chrisann, we do exactly that. We are 62 and just love it...Interesting that we have found that renting a home in senior mobile home park is very hard to do and very expensive for what you get. We rent a home in one of the many developements that do the weekly rentals...If you would like, you could PM me. We have researched the area quite extensively over the last 8 years and know the turf pretty well. Maybe I could help if I knew budget, how important it is to be in senior setting, when they wanted to go, and if 1st floor is critical based on mobility issues.
There are ways to PM hundreds of owners to see if they have 3 months vacant but time is critical because one or two weeks rented out of 3 months takes that unit out of consideration for a 3 month block of time. We usually get our place rented 10 to 12 months ahead and that is great for the owner as they have guaranteed income for 3 slower months at Disney (Jan, Feb, March) and we do not interfere with Christmas or Easter rentals.
The suggestion to use
www.vrbo.com is excellent, but does take some savvy on where units are located and one by one shopping for units on a site that literally has thousands of condos and homes.
Other suggestion is simply Google MOBILE HOMES FOR RENT CENTRAL FLORIDA and see what happens.
Good Luck, they will love it. I would recomment central Florida over the coasts anytime in the winter....less traffic, much more to do, and ocean is only an hour away.
