3 Hotels, 2 Parks, 1 Big Bang of a Surprise = A Trip of a Lifetime!!-update 3/21, pg4

I must apologize right now. I still need to figure how to size pictures on Photo Bucket. I thought I had it down but it is obvious from my pictues above that I do not. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated!!! :)

To give you a little preview of what is to come:

1. We stayed at all 3 DL hotels.
2. Visited both parks twice.
3. Visited the first amusement park.
4. Saw some celebrities.
5. Had a a big surprise on a tour in LA that went off with a bang!!!
6. Drove in LA!
7. Got lost in LA!
8. Vowed to never drive in LA again!!!

I have sizing issues with PB and I've given up. It's the photos from my phone that cause issues despite everything being set correctly on my end.

WOW that is a lot of things but I am :rotfl2: on the driving in LA.

I have never stayed at DLH and really hope to one of these days. I was VERY tempted to do a split stay for the DL half and I suppose if some great rates come out we may but right now we are sniff, across the street. I will be at VGC in April though so it's all good. I know a lot of people don't love PP but we had a wonderful time there.

UGH on the no TV flight. We do enough travel that we've gotten good about knowing what times work best for us each way to minimize the jet lag but it is hard.

Low 70's...I'd probably skip the slide and pool too. Never know but probably, especially if there was a breeze. The slides are funky aren't they? The way they don't go into the pool. Aquaduck is a perfect analogy.

I'm coming over from the FB page.

I still have several TR's and my own to get updated, but I will be back to catch up as soon as I can. :goodvibes

Welcome! I started reading yours the other day but need to subscribe. Need to when I get back home.

I can't wait to read you update I'm dying to know about your experiences at the other hotels we stayed at DLH last year and we are heading to PPH in a few weeks

Welcome! I will get it up on Tuesday. Time got away from me and then we headed out of town for the weekend.

Erika, I am back and caught up.

Love your intros. And I am very excited to read this and learn about DL. Mark and I are planning our first ever trip to DL in 2015 after 20+ visits to Walt Disney World. So I will need LOTS of hints and pointers, including where to stay.

The monorail slide looks really cool.

And love the photos from DTD.

You will love it. I would love to go back. It is a lot different from WDW. A lot smaller but I liked that about it. Nice to not have to worry about waiting on a bus and walking from one entrance to another.

I will have a lot I tips and pointers so hopefully they will be of some help.

That is why I only stayed one night. No discounts on rooms thanksgiving week. It is expensive to stay at Disneyland hotel.

Grand Cali was nice too. We stayed there three nights. You will like it.

Slides were weird. Not used to that.

So excited you get to go in April and see your son march. I am hoping Jeremy stays in band. Our school goes every four years and march in Epcot. A Disney moms dream come true.

Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend! We left Thursday night for the Smokey Mountains and gatlingburg so I didn't get an update in. Sorry!

Hope those who got hit with the snow are safe and with power!

We are having a great time and it is nice to be away for a few days. Even greater to be away after another five inches of snow hit this morning at home.

Update will be up Tuesday!

Joining in! :woohoo:

Aren't the DLR and the monorail slides fabulous???

DD and I are WDW vets too, but we live on the West Coast, so this year is the Year of Disneyland for us - I got us APs for Christmas, and we went down for DD's birthday last month, will be back this summer and at least one more time in 2014. I LOVE DLR!!! Excited to read more about your time there. :thumbsup2

I want to apologize for the update delay. We took a little getaway to Gatlinburg, TN over President's Day weekend. It was nice to get away from this yucky winter and enjoy some time away doing nothing but fun. However, I came home to a little scare regarding my mom's health. In the end, the doctor was being over cautious regarding an inflammation spot that wasn't going away. It wasn't cancer and he has put her on some powerful antibiotics to try and get rid of it. If not, she will have a biopsy done in two weeks and determine course of treatment. It was a very stressful week where I spent over half of it with her in Kentucky and no wifi at her house. :scared1: She is doing well and thinks it is going down so hoping beyond hope it does!

November 23, 2013 (continued)

I had last left you on arrival day and we were exploring DTD.

View from another side of the skating rink.

Hat in DTD. It was dark and I was really confused about where everything was. This could have been in the middle. :confused3

I liked the lego store at Disneyland. It could have been because there were some new displays.

Belle and the Beast were my favorite.

Maleficient the dragon was on top of the building.

View of the prince from below.

I liked the Aladdin display in the store as well.

I am not sure what this is from. Jeremy liked it and wanted his picture. Could it be Harry Potter????

We ventured on up to the World of Disney store but no more pictures were taken. I know we stopped at the Marceline Confectionary and a cookie was purchased for Jeremy and a chocolate covered pineapple spear for Tom and I to share. We had discovered this tasty treat at WDW in the new Fantasyland. It was in the big top shop. It was good in Disneyland but not as good as WDW. Seemed to have a lot of chocolate on it.

The time change, air travel, and total exhaustion was starting to sit in so we called it a night and headed to the room. We stopped by the store and bought some milk for cereal in the morning.

We were looking forward to seeing the fireworks from our great view in the room. However, I think Jeremy and I were both asleep by 8:30 which was really 11:30 our time. Tom said they were pretty but he only saw a little bit of it and then went to bed also.

(continued in next post)

Be back in a little while if photobucket will stop giving me problems!! I keep getting a scripting error here at work. :confused3 Stay tuned!

I'm in! Can't wait to hear all the details since I am in the middle of planning my first trip to DL since 2005 for the end of March/first week of April!

My 9yo DS is a Big Bang fanatic and we are doing the WB Tour on our Saturday no Park day.

Can't wait to hear what you're Big surprise was!

I know that time change crash well. You go, go, go and then .... stop. :lmao:

I hope this trip I can slow down and bit ( I always say that :rotfl:) and enjoy DTD more. I felt like I was squeezing everything in and lost a couple of afternoons due to time change. Then I had heat.... oh my.

I will have to remember that pineapple snack - YUM..

The Lego shop is always so much fun.

It isn't from Harry Potter it is Gandalf from The hobbit :)

Looking forward to an update!

It was neat to see the different Lego figures that WDW doesn't have.

Pretty sure we are all familiar with that arrival day 'ready to crash' feeling. ::yes::

Hope your mom continues to improve. :goodvibes

that's Gandalf!

darn PB. I can see being completely disoriented in the dark, you did well staying up as late as you did.

So sorry about the scare with your mom, I hope the antibiotics work! Very stressful.

:) Welcome! Glad to have you here.

Yes, those slide were cute. Jeremy loved them. I think I would have too had it not been too cold.

We loved DLR as well. I would love to go back there. It was so nice to just walk everywhere you needed to. Update coming soon!

Just me waiting impatiently lol I hope you had a great long weekend!

We did have but it has been hectic since we got back. Update coming!

:) Welcome! Glad you are here.

How exciting to be planning a trip to DL! It is such a fun place. Hope this trip can you help you come.

Oh, then you will like it!!! We did the WB tour. I will have all the info on Day which should only be a few posts away.

The Lego shop is always so much fun.

I liked where DTD wasn't so big there or at least it didn't feel like it to me. It could have been where all the hotels are right there as well. So nice to easily walk to EoS anytime I wanted. :goodvibes

Definitely try the pineapply but do it in WDW! A very tasty surprise.

I like the lego shop but despise those sets. I refuse to buy them anymore for Jeremy. He will build it and then I find it tore up into something else. The only ones he will keep up are the architecure ones. I guess I shouldn't get so frustrated as it is his mind at work.

It isn't from Harry Potter it is Gandalf from The hobbit :)

Looking forward to an update!

That makes sense! He had just been reading/watching that at school. I had no clue.

Mom is doing better. Meds seems to be working and area is going down. Thank you for the good thoughts.

I did like a change in the lego figures. It was pretty exciting.

that's Gandalf!

She is doing better. Thank you for the kind words.

Time changes are very hard on me. I usually get a bad case of jet lag when we get home but did fair pretty well this time.
