Hello and welcome to my PTR! I was back from our last trip for a whole 3 weeks when I decided I needed (yes need not want) another trip so I called and booked one!

I am currently working on a TR from my Sept 2011 trip that you can find HERE if you want to follow along

Cast of Characters

I am Natalie, mom of 3 wonderful kids and obsessive Disney planner!

My favourite park is by far Magic Kingdom and I could actually plan a whole trip around just that park. My favourite ride changes from week to week because I love them all so much. I guess top 2 would be POTC and Haunted Mansion. My favourite Show is Mickey’s Philharmagic. I actually reach out and try to grab the 3D images, maybe one day I will catch one. My favourite character is Goofy!

Here is my favourite picture from last trip (and if you are reading that TR a little sneak peak)

Next up is Eryka (DD9)

Her favourite Princess has always been Cinderella but she has decided she is done with the girly princesses and likes Mulan and Pocahontas more now. Her favourite park is Magic Kingdom, favourite ride is Space Mountain and her favourite show is Lights Motor Action (please no one tell her that is not in the plan for this year :rolleyes1)

Last but not least is the baby of the family, Emma (DD7, will be 8 for this trip)

Our last trip was in the month of September for her 7th Birthday so this trip will be for her 8th birthday. Her favourite park is also Magic Kingdom, favourite ride is Kali River Rapids and her favourite show is Beauty and the Beast.

Here is a great pic of Em and I always seem to get one of her making a silly face on every trip

How this trip came to be………

Coming home from our last trip when we got to the airport we found out that our flight was delayed by 4 hours. Southwest gave everyone on the flight a credit but it had to be used in the next year. I had already decided we were going to return to Disney in November and do the Christmas Party again, but now I had a flight credit I had to use before October 3rd :headache:

So after I got home I played with some dates and although I really hate the heat I decided we should go Aug 27-Sept 3. Emma’s birthday is Sept 2nd so she was excited that we would be there on her actual birthday.

I called Disney and booked the contemporary Resort and the girls were so excited to be staying there again.

We had originally planned to spend some time with friends next year in Disney but they really wanted to go for MNSSHP and Food and Wine. After checking with the school a couple of times I decided maybe we could go Sept 29-Oct 7 and I could still use my flight credit.

Our friends were going to be staying at Port Orleans Riverside in one of the new royal rooms. Emma was sad that we were not going to be staying at CR since she would get her own bed so I moved us to POR and made a request for a trundle bed room. Since I saved a lot of money on the room and got free dining I decided to upgrade us to Deluxe Dining. Anyone that follows my reports knows I was going to do Deluxe last year but changed my plans when friends decided to join us.

So here are the FINAL details for the trip

We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside (probably Aligator Bayou area) from September 29th to October 7th with Deluxe Dining.

Our friends Katie, Glen and Ethan will be there the same time as us and will be included in some of our plans.

I really hope you will join in on this adventure as I have a lot of Dining choices to make before April 2nd and I would love some opinions of people who have eaten there.

You beat me to starting a PTR!! I was hoping to start this coming weekend. Ethan was so excited when we told him. In his own dramatic fashion he said "I'll be down here" (pointing to the floor) and proceeded to fake a fainting spell! :lmao: Glen & I were cracking up.

Can't wait to see more plans as they come about! :rotfl2:

That's hilarious!!!! :rotfl:

Glad you are here since you will be in some of my plans

So I am going to start this PTR off with getting some help with dining choices. Since we will be on the Deluxe Dining Plan we will have 24 dining credits plus 16 snacks each. Snacks are no problem especially since the kids can get drinks and ice cream with them but dining was a little harder to figure out.

I will start of by saying we are NOT a seafood family and I have considered some of the seafood restaurants because I know they have other options, but I will be honest and the smell of fish really turns me off. We are also not very adventurous eaters. When I read a food report and it says typical breakfast food, that is exactly what I want!

Here is my "tentative" breakfast list. Please feel free to share stories or pictures from when you ate there and to recommend dishes. I am very visual so I would love to see Food Porn pics!!!

1. Boma - I have never been to AKL and I figure we can do this on an AK day. Please share pics or food reviews as it is new

2. Cape May Cafe - This is new. Have heard mixed reviews but think it will be neat to see the characters in swimwear

3. Hollywood and Vine - we have done this before but it's hard to find a good restaurant for DHS

4. Akershus - we have done this before but it's a great way to see the princesses and get into Epcot early

5. O'Hana - we do this every trip and love the food and characters

6. CRT - looking at the menu on All Ears it looks like they have changed the menu since we did breakfast here in 2009. We didn't think it was the best back then and I am hoping it's better now. Please feel free to share if you have done it recently

7. Chef Mickey's - we have done this before but it's always a fun place to eat

8. 1900 Park Fare - haven't done breakfast here in a few trips but we always have a good time here

so that is the breakfast plan so far, please share your opinions with me

Thanks!

Natalie - having stayed at AKL and eaten at Boma... it's just so-so food. You know we are on board for 'Ohana and Chef Mickey's and I am on board for CRT. :goodvibes

I told the girls you were coming for CRT, I'm so excited!!!!

Should I skip breakfast at Boma and maybe just get a snack on that day? I could maybe book a lunch instead :scratchin

Ok I took out Akershus since we already have a princess breakfast and added Kona which I heard is great.

I also got rid of Boma, I hate all the travel to a resort then back to the park just to eat. Since there really isn't much option for AK I am going to do Tusker House again :scared1:. I know I had a terrible time there this trip but I'm hoping if I book an opening ADR and I don't have to wait it will be better :confused3

You are going at the same time as me! Yay! Visit my pretrip report, and we can be October 2012 buddies! I think I have one subscriber, so I am getting nervous! I am coming back tomorrow to read your report!! Subscribing!

:welcome: As you can see I don't have very many either but I love the ones I have!!!

Heading over to yours!!!!

Finally made my way over here!! Love all the photos of you and your girls.

Yay on going for deluxe dining - can't wait to hear all about it. We did dinner at Boma and absolutely loved it as well as 1900 Park Fare for breakfast.

Glad you are here!

I have decided to skip Boma. The idea of going to the park then to AKL then back to the park just for breakfast drives me crazy

We haven't done 1900 PF breakfast in a few years and I'm excited about doing it again

I would skip the Boma breakfast and give TH another try myself. In my opinion, the only food worth going to AKL for is the Zebra cakes, but they have alcohol in them, so its for adults only, but sooo yummy!!

Hello!! I know all about having to plan another trip right after you get back from one. Bill and I are usually planning our next trip while we are there, especially on the last day.

I think it is a great idea to give Tusker House one more try. Hopefully all those issues were just a fluke and I would tell them I wanted in the main room, not tucked away from everything :thumbsup2.

Thanks, most places are worth a second chance I think

Good idea asking for the main room... and welcome Tracy!!!

I have totally been neglecting this PTR but I started a new job this week so I have been kinda busy

so I have decided on my breakfast choices. Making the final cut are:

Tusker
O'Hana
Kona
Hollywood & Vine
Chef Mickey's
Cape May Cafe
CRT
1900 Park fare

Next on to Lunch:

The only place I have for lunch is Crystal Palace. we have only ever done breakfast here so I thought we could give lunch a try

Dinner choices

California Grill: We have never eaten here before. I am thinking we will do this around 5pm on our arrival day and then watch Wishes from there.

Tony’s: this is also new for us. Emma loves Lady and the Tramp so we had to try here. we will do this around 5pm on our MNSSHP night

Hoop Dee Do Revue: Also new. I hear the Sangria is included with dinner  that alone made me want to try this place. That and I love the food selections!

LeCellier: Last time we at here was before the Candlelight Processional and it was very crowded and I had built it up from all the great reviews that I was kinda disappointed when we ate there. This time I am going with an open mind and won't order the Cheese Soup

Brown Derby: Again new. Hoping to get the Fantasmic dinner package. I love the Grapefruit cake and I'm a big Cobb Salad fan

Whispering Canyon Cafe: Eryka loves this place and asked to go back so we are. I got the skillet last time and it was good. The kids like to ask for ketchup :lmao:

Yachtsman: Another new one. I am a huge steak fan so I am looking forward to getting a good one here!

Spirit of Aloha: Again new. I have wanted to do this for a while so since we are doing Deluxe I knew this would be on the list. This place gets mixed reviews but I'm willing to give it a try for myself

So these are our meal choices so far. What do you think?
