3 Generations of "Magic" - Our 8-Night NYC Cruise Photo TR - Update 7/9!

Loving the TR! The pictures are GREAT, and I'm hoping the Fantasy offers Disney trivia like the ones you mentioned

Can't remember, but did you do the martini tasting?? I know I saw a pic of the apple martini at the captain's gala.. If you did do the tasting, do you recall how many kinds you tasted, and how big the 'tastes' were?

The appletini was actually just one of the free cocktails from the captains gala - it was delicious. :thumbsup2 I did the champagne & sparkling wine tasting and there were 5 glasses. Sorry i don't know about the martini tasting.:confused3

Great TR.:thumbsup2 Love your pics. All that food was making me hungry. We are on the 8/25 cruise and can't wait.

How late did you stay at MK? If you were on the first bus, I was just curious when everyone gave up, and did you eat at the park or back on the ship for dinner?

Oh, and WOW, what an upgrade! Not that I would wish a wet, stinky bathroom on anyone, but I think I'd take it if it got me an upgrade to a verandah!

Our plan was to take the very last bus but the rain was just not stopping and it was really heavy and with all the closures we weren't getting much accomplished so I think us, and considering how many buses went out, everyone else seemed to give up around 7pm.
We didn't eat dinner at the park - when we got back on the boat top siders was open til 12:30am that night.

One of my favorite parts of our Disney Vacations is all the shopping! I love everything and anything Disney, especially holiday items - more specifically, ornaments! On this trip, between both the cruise and our 1 day in the Magic Kingdom, I came home with 8 ornaments! One of those ornaments I can happily report was even purchased on sale from the Christmas Shoppe in Sleepy Hollow in the Magic Kingdom - the regularly $16 Sorcerer Mickey glass ornament was marked down to $8.99, and everyone knows you can't turn down a sale in the Magic Kingdom. Never fear, we did buy a number of other items too including a kids cruise line sweat shirt (it was the only non-white zip up and had the best design!), and the coolest plush doll of all time - a MINE bird from Finding Nemo on Castaway Cay. There were also a number of other items we purchased but they are gifts for family members so unfortunately those will have to be kept secret (at least until August - after my boyfriend gets his birthday present). Speaking of gifts, my mother and my boyfriend schemed together to get me the Disney cruise Chamilia boat charm for my bracelet, apparently my mom picked it up while we were there for Paul so he could give it to me when I got home as a Thank You for the help with his Graduation party. It was very sweet & it looks great on my all Disney Chamilia Charm bracelet, which might I add is almost filled! It feels like yesterday he gave me my first Cinderella Castle charm on my 20th birthday. Anyway - trying to get back on track here - lets get to the pictures!

So I might be crazy but it is officially booked and paid for! My boyfriend and I are going on the 5-night Canadian cruise out of NYC on Sept 12th! I just couldn't turn down the $699 veranda rooms! Especially when the same room for the same itinerary in August is $2200 per person!!! Our entire trip didn't even cost half of that! I can't believe I'll be back on the Magic in 2 months!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

You'll love it (bring some warm sweatshirts). My son and I did this cruise on Carnival a few years ago. There is not as much to see in St. John's as Halifax, but we really enjoyed the kayaking with lobster bake. Halifax has so much to see, it's hard to get it all in one day. We did the duckboat tour, the citadel and had lunch in the food court down on the boardwalk.

We just came off the Magic yesterday and they left for their first day Canada tour last night. The crew was looking forward to some cooler temps. We had a hotttt week, but it was awesome! pixiedust:

Congrats on re-booking:thumbsup2 We were on the June 2 NYC cruise too and also needed another Magic fix so we were able to snag the 8/10 2 nite. I can't wait to get back on the Magic either:goodvibes

Great write up and pics. This will be very useful. We are leaving on August 25th. I had a question about Pirate Night. Do most people dress up for it? Just trying to decide if we should bring pirate gear or not.

Thanks

There were a number of families that went ALL OUT! One of my favorites was a family where the son was will turner, the daughter was elizabeth swan (full gown!), & the dad was captain jack! There were a lot of people dressed up in full costume, some had subtle costumes like pirate t-shirts or hooks from the gift shop and then others nothing at all. So really anything you choose to do will be fine - it's your vacation! You want to get dressed up GO FOR IT! :thumbsup2

Thank you for the info on Pirate Night. This helped a great deal with our planning. If I may ask another question... I noticed that you posted a Photo Pass Card. Is Photo Pass available on the ships now? Everything I have read says that it is not. We always use Photo Pass at the parks and would like to take advantage of it on the ship if we could. If it is available, are all pictures taken on the ship available through Photo Pass?

Thanks again!

No, that photopass card has nothing to do with the ship. If you are going on the 8-night with the stop at port Canaveral then you will receive one of the cards I had pictured to use in the parks. Otherwise no, shutters is not affiliated with photopass and all photos taken on the boat are through shutters not photopass.

Personally, I think it's almost ridiculous at this point the way the photo set up is run - Disney should really just set up a photopass on the boats and be done with it and make it easier for everyone.
