3 Generations! 2 Resorts! 10 Days! DxDp! 3000 Pictures! - Saying Good-Bye!

Wonderful trip report! Thanks for all the pictures. I too love the early mornings at Disney and all the quiet and peacefulness! Looking forward to reading more thanks for sharing!!!!

We have our photopass :goodvibes I plan to be diligent in remembering to take pics for my RC family.

popcorn:: We'll be waiting....

Ok, don't laugh, but....um, I've already changed my mind about doing breakfast at OHana. :sad2: Even though I got the 1st possible time of the morning (7:30), I started worrying that we wouldn't make it to MK for RD. I'm stalking the Disney reservations online & I'm hoping & praying for a 7am Chef Mickey's ADR or 8am Crystal Palace. Let's hope some pixie dust comes my way! :wizard:

Hmmmm....changed your mind, huh?! Is RD at 9am? That would give you an 1 1/2 hours....that might be pushing it but not by much. Maybe something will come up at Chef Mickey's...that would be the best option.

I am officially obsessing over what would be the "perfect" ADR for this short trip! :rotfl: That Sunday, MK RD is at 9am. So, I went ahead & cancelled the OHana 730 am ADR because I was afraid we'd be cutting it too close. Then, today, I booked an 1135 am ADR at Hollywood & Vine for the Saturday while we're at DHS. But, that had me very underwhelmed since I've heard the lunch is horrible. So, I was still stalking the reservations for a 7am CM or 8am CP ADR. But, then I got to thinking : MK closes that Sunday night at 7pm for MVMCP. Why not do a dinner at either CP (I would just need an ADR before 7) or CM's (for right after 7). So, I was able to get an 815pm ADR at Chef Mickey's. Ed & I discussed the 2 ADR's over lunch & decided to keep the dinner at Chef Mickey's & drop the H&V. But, I still feel like the time at CM's isn't perfect! :rotfl2: Well, just a little bit ago, I was able to get another one at CM's for 805pm & cancelled the 815. But, I'm still stalking for like 630 pm at CP or 730 CM. I think I need to be committed....or at least prescribed some meds! :lmao:

Like I tell everyone, I would be no fun on meds. Too boring :rotfl:

You ain't kidding! :lmao: I do try to keep my obsessive Disney talk just between Ed & myself because my family already thinks I'm crazy for how much I plan for Disney. I'm so glad I have my friends here to talk to & understand. :flower3:

Ok....wow!!! It's understandable, though...you want the trip to be perfect. I would be doing the same thing...keep going until you get it right!

I know exactly what you mean!!! Aren't you glad there are people who actually 'get it'!!!

I know, I know....I need help! :lmao: So far, I still have our 805 pm Chef Mickey's ADR. But, I'm still stalking! :rolleyes1

Yes the DIS is the one place where I don't have to explain or defend my Disney obsession.

::yes::

I really try not to talk to my sister about Disney because she thinks I'm absolutely obsessive & crazy for how much I planning I do for our trips. She thinks if you're planning more than 1 month away, that you're nuts! And, no, I'm not being sarcastic about her. Just a couple of weeks ago, she told me that her & her DH are probably going to take their 2 boys for a long weekend in October. She told me their favorite character meal is Crystal Palace and she'd get an ADR closer to leaving time. And she concluded the conversation by saying she still has so much time before the trip, she'll start planning once "it's closer". :sad2:

It's the best!! And if you're gonna have an obsession...why not Disney?!

Seriously??!! Well...hope she's prepared for no ADRs or at least an ADR at a 'bad' time. Honestly, I think that's why some people hate Disney...they don't plan, then have no idea what to do when they get there. Thank heavens for the DisBoards!!! :dance3: People at school think I'm a little over the top with WDW, but who cares!?

Cinderella’s Royal Table - Part 2
8am Reservation
Day 9

Love, love, love the inside of the Castle!!!! Wish I had more time to wander around and get some more shots. And wouldn't you love to actually get to see Walt's Room that's upstairs!!!

We were one of the first families to be seated, and were lucky enough to be close to the window for an incredible view.

I’ve always loved the interior of this restaurant….guess it’s the whole idea of actually being in Cinderella’s Castle.

When we sat down, the Wishing Star was placed in several of the plates….just another WDW touch. The theme of the restaurant focuses on princesses and making that special wish.

Jesse was eagerly waiting for the princesses to make their way around to him! He absolutely loves this experience. Last year at 3 years old, he was mesmerized by them.

DSC_4478.jpg

As each princess comes out, the restaurant played their particular song….such Disney Magic when one appears at the entrance! Even Stephen, our 9 year old, enjoys it! I love hearing the princesses talk...it's so sweet! They always ask Jesse and Stephen if they will slay the dragon and save the day.

IMG_6602.jpg

DH had this…..he said it was just ok…nothing outstanding.

IMG_6603.jpg

The kids seemed to enjoy their breakfast….of course it was a bit hard for us to get them to eat with all the princesses strolling by.

IMG_6604.jpg

IMG_6624.jpg

Faith was simply amazed! This is one of her favorite experiences, too. It was so precious to watch her talk to the princesses like they were truly real.

DSC_4489.jpg

When the children enter downstairs, the girls are presented with a magic wand and the boys get a sword.

IMG_6598.jpg

Belle is the favorite princess of the boys…and when I say boys….I mean ALL the boys.

IMG_6631.gif

IMG_6632.jpg

After all the princesses have made their way around, the music starts to play, the lights dim and they ask the little girls to hold their wands high and circle them in the air.

DSC_4497.jpg

It’s time to make a wish…..close your eyes and think of something you really want….

DSC_4499.jpg

The lights start to flicker and flash….and your wish is granted!.......or not…..

DSC_4500.jpg

We were cracking up laughing at Faith….she really took this seriously! Such a precious moment!

The meal was over, the princesses were done and I was ready to hit rope drop! So…the big question….would we return???? YEP! Without hesitation. We’ve now done breakfast and lunch, and we’ve enjoyed both. The food was good for breakfast and great for lunch. The princesses spent ample time at our table…weren’t in a hurry at all. Our waitress was sufficient, but not overly friendly at all. For us, it’s all about the experience of actually being in the castle and seeing the princesses…yes it’s pricey, but very worth it for our family. Once our kids are older, I’m not sure we will go….probably wouldn’t hold the same ‘magic’ as it does now. If you have little girls and you’re pondering over whether to go or not….try it!!! It was a great way to start the morning and get into the park early!!!

So….it’s time for rope drop! The kids are ready to head out and get in line for Dumbo!!!

Up next….MK morning!

I had a bit to get caught up on but I think I did it now. :) I recall reading about the backyard BBQ but think I missed part two but covered that tonight. Definately looks like a fun thing to do. I need a couple of lil kids to take to WDW.
Love love love the pics of you and your family infront of the Castle, especially the one where you guys are lined up popping out on opposite side, great pic :thumbsup2

Wonder what they were filming. Can't wait to read about CRT , it has been so many years since we went there, I thought about booking it but for now it is one of the places I want to remember from back when we went as a family, same as with HDDR, just would be hard to go without my DS :littleangel:

Great update on CRT! It seems that this restaurant is on the "upswing" again. We have been a few times. Years ago, it was fantastic (I even have pictures of Aurora in her blue dress, dopey, and the princes!). Then a few years ago, it was down right horrible. Last year seemed to be good, but not great. Hopefully it continues to improve. I agree with people who say you pay for the environment, and the experience, but it is hard to get people to pay if the food is no good. I'm glad that your family had a good experience!

:wave2: Shelia!

I sure wish that I had taken 2 seconds to ask what they were filming! I had such tunnel vision that morning trying to get to the castle:laughing: Sometimes I need to stop and take a deep breath!! Did you get all your ADRs made?? I've got to hope over to the RC Thread this weekend and catch up!!! I'm soooooo far behind.

Sounds Like fun....

Lots of fun for us....I can see why some families wouldn't like it especially if they have older kids.

We went last year for lunch...was excellent!!! I think I like breakfast a bit better, but only because you can get in the park early. The reviews that I've read are always up and down. I think the price is steep, but then we're talking about Disney, right!? Everything's expensive. Didn't know Dopey use to be there??!! I wish Jasmine would have been. Not sure that she has ever been a part of CRT, though.

Speaking of the Intrior of CRT - when did it change from King Stefan's to CRT? princess: I also wonder how much the Interior changed. I remember the Prime Rib at King Stefan's - pretty good if my memory will go back to 1986.
As GrandParents we love CRT and would diffinately do it again with the little ones, especially girls - Just Magical ! ! ! :wizard:princess::thumbsup2

What a wonderful start to the day! I REALLY want to have breakfast at CRT just once! I loved all of the pictures....especially the ones with Faith & her wand. How precious!!! Can't wait to hear what all y'all did!

DH and I also got the egg plate at CRT. Sounds like we should have gotten the french toast! I totally agree that it was a really cool experience, and I remember when my grandparents took me there for lunch almost 30 years ago. I'm sure if we get back to WDW while DD is still princess crazy we'll be back to CRT. I am wondering what the new restaurant at Beast's castle will be like though- might make the decision harder ;)

I'm back from lurkdom. I know, I know, it's Day Nine:flower3:. I have gotten so off schedule what with being in FL almost 3 weeks and creating the WL thread - are those legitimate excuses?

Despite my extended Strickland-TR posting absence, your TR is still top notch and I'm sad that "our" trip is almost over:guilty:. CRT made me a little sad, too because DD12 is not even remotely interested in it, (not that she ever loved princesses). I "threatened" her last trip and told her that we'd be going to CRT not for her, but for DH:laughing:. I wonder what impact the opening of Be Our Guest will have on CRT reservations?

Happy Friday!
