3 days away and may have to cancel Ressies

We are supposed to arrive at OKW on Saturday, but just found out that my mom may have to go in for surgery (She has had ovarian Cancer for about 2 years). They are doing a CT scan tomorrow, and the surgery could be thursday or Friday. if it is Thursday and everything goes well, we may go ahead and still go, however, if the surgery is Friday, we may not know anything before member services closes at 2:30 pm Pacific (our time). This will be my last chance to cancel without loosing my all my points for the rest of my use year.
My question is (Worst case Scenario) On friday before member services closes, could I just Cancel the Saturday stay, and keep the reservation for the rest of the week? This way It gives me until Saturday to Cancel Completely. Any advice would be appreciated.

I was told that if I did not cancel before the day the reservation started I would lose all of the points for the entire reservation. I don't know if you called MS and asked if they could cancel the Saturday and rebook it as a separate reservation, maybe even with a different name as the lead person on it so that your name is the lead person on one and whoever is traveling with you is the other if that would work to save the rest of the points if you have to cancel that one day on Saturday You might have to change rooms if you do get there for the Saturday but it would be better than losing your points. It would probably depend on availability at the time you called. I would call today and explain to MS and see what options they can offer. Will keep you and your mother in my thoughts and hope that all goes well and that the news is good.

Call MS today, and see what they can do. I guess I would try to cancel the first day for now, and worry about the rest later. No matter what you do, it ends up in a holding account, so no difference if you wait until Saturday there, as long as you cancel the Friday night.

I believe you can call the resort directly until midnight to cancel.
