I'm new to this whole posting thing, but my wife and I almost have our whole Disney trip planned and have a few questions. We are still up in the air about driving our car from Louisiana (10 hours), flying and renting a car or flying and choosing a tranportation company. Since there are some great rates with Southwest, we are seriously considering doing the whole transportation company thing. The closest thing we've ever done like that are short cab rides from point A to Z, but we have never had to rely on them getting us to and from the airport on time. Any suggestions to put our minds at ease?

Thanks,
Patrick

If you are flying and staying at least 6-7 days, I would rent a car. This way you can resort hop, go to different restraunts when you want to. A car gives you a little more freedom. You can usually find a good rate between $140-$190 for the week
Also you can return to the airport when you want to leave.;)

I'd probably choose driving if it's only 10 hours. (When we lived in Huntsville, AL, we drove to WDW.) With the new security issues for airlines they want you at the airport 60-90 minutes before your flight. If you fly you'll either need to have someone drive you to the airport or pay airport parking. It also takes time to collect your luggage when you arrive.

Personally, I prefer to have a car at my disposal. I like to go to shop the outlets for Disney bargains and eat at a couple of off-site restaurants during my stay.

Have fun planning your trip!

TTFN!
