We just got back from a wonderful week at Disney World which included character breakfasts at Tusker House, Ohana's, and Crystal Palace. We also enjoyed a character dinner at Chef Mickey's.
Overall, my hubby, son (3), nephew (6), grandma, and myself agreed that Tusker House had the best breakfast buffet mostly due to the variety provided. My nephew is a really picky eater and even he was able find something that he liked (tater tots and glazed donuts). Hubby, grandma, and I absolutely loved the frittatas, quiches, and the chocolate mango bread. My son loved the special oatmeal-like dish which was made with rice instead or oats. We will definitely be eating here again next time we visit Disney.

Crystal Palace buffet selections were standard breakfast staple items - cereals, danishes, scrambled eggs, mickey waffles, oatmeal, etc... Nothing fancy but all very tasty. A little overpriced for the food variety and quality (think Shoney's) but the character interactions were great and the kids loved it so we'll be going back to this one in the future.

Ohana's was different in that the food was served family style on a skillet. Pineapple bread, cinnamon rolls, fresh fruit including pineapple and grapes, biscuits, bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs, and potato wedges were served. This breakfast cost less than the other two. And although everything was cooked well and tasty, the limited variety of food made this the least liked breakfast of the bunch.

Lastly, we had dinner one night at Chef Mickey's and again, although the variety of the food was limited, it was all cooked very well. The buffet included salmon, mickey shaped ravioli, a hand carving area with turkey and roast beef, broccolli, asparagus, assorted rolls, and salad; and a kid's area with pizza, chicken nuggets, and mickey shaped macaroni. The soup that night was a cream of potato which was wonderful. The dessert bar was FANTASTIC!! Those little mickey shaped chocolate mousse oreos were the hottest items. Grandma and I loved the mini cheesecakes. Although I didn't feel that the food quality at Chef Mickey's warranted the cost, the character interaction was awesome. We spent about 1 1/2 hours there and saw all of the characters on the rotation (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald) twice. Even though the restaurant was full to capacity, there aren't a whole of tables so the characters can make their rounds several times in an hour.

I'm thinking of trying Tusker House for breakfast when we go in Dec. (if an 8:05 ever comes available)
