3 Boys and 20 Hours in a Minivan,I Must Really Love this Place!*New4/22 TR LINK

Awww, you had a wonderful birthday celebration! I know what you mean about shopping being different when you're shopping with the girls and shopping with the boys. It's totally different.

Look at the hubster picking out a Vera Bradley. He did good!

You know, I didn't really catch that fact the first time through, but you're right. He did do good! My hubby would be lost trying to choose a bag. :rotfl2: Although he does pretty good with perfumes and Bath & Body Works. ;)

Happy birthday! Sounds like you had a nice day. I love your gifts, especially the VB bag (I got a bag in that same pattern for our trip) and the Tink snowglobe. Are you looking forward to baseball season then? My family roots for the Brewers. :thumbsup2

Thank you! It really was a nice day. And yes...I am SOOOO excited that baseball season is here! Granted, only Spring Training as of now, but that means Opening Day is right around the corner! We are very divided here. My DH and youngest son like the Orioles. My oldest son likes the Blue Jays. My middle son hates the sport altogether! And I, of course, like the Twins.

Happy Birthday! Sounds like a lovely day. Mine is New Year's Eve so everyone is always busy. lol. That's okay, the hubby and I usually take a date night and that's always nice!

I LOVE the hipster! It's the perfect pattern for a vacation, if you ask me. And, of course, I'm sure I heard you ask. :rotfl:

Your plans are coming along nicely! It is very hard to make some of these parks into one-day visits. There is just so much you could do.
Oh, and I totally stole your yes, no, maybe idea and used it to help with my own planning. I like that idea soooo much better than the concrete "first, we'll run here, then we'll dash there..." crazy planning I tried to do last time. :scared:
Keep the updates coming!!! And Happy Valentines Day!

Yep...New Year's Eve would be a tough one! But a date night sounds perfect!

I love the pattern...very tropical and perfect for the Bahamas!

It really was difficult to narrow the MK to one day. Like I said, we are used to touring from sun up to sun down so I hope it all works, but trying to cut things out was hard! Glad you could use the Yes, No, Maybe idea! :goodvibes

Happy Birthday to a fellow Aquarius (mine was last Wednesday)! Love the gifts!
:goodvibes

Thank you and Happy Belated Birthday! :yay:

Happy Birthday! Glad to hear you had a great one. I have never taken my Birthday seriously but am rethinking that now:)

Thanks! I know it's a little silly, but I really do love my birthday!

I was so proud of him! We have a store just down the road that has a Vera Store in it...store within a store type thing. The ladies there are very helpful...but I have to give him credit! It really is beautiful!

Yep...he's a keeper! ;)

I love the posts of the pictures of your boys from a few years ago. :) I love looking at pictures of my boys from past trips when they were little. Now that they're 19 and 16 I don't get those "cute little boy" pictures anymore. They are good Disney sports, though. They'll still go on It's a small world and Peter Pan!! :thumbsup2

And Happy Birthday!!:yay:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I love my birthday too! But the last few have been no fun. This year, I think I'm going to take the whole month off.:rotfl2:

I know the feeling....now they're "grown-up cute" instead of "little boy cute"! and mine are the same way. They still meet characters and let me dress them in matching shirts...but ONLY at Disney! :goodvibes

Woo-Hoo! Now that sounds like a plan!

I've never been one to dictate what my kids wear. I didn't dress them in matching Christmas sweaters for photos or coordinate their colors for school picture day. But...there is something about a Disney trip that makes me want to be matchy-matchy! So, for our last trip, I made matching t-shirts for one MK day and bought t-shirts that were not exactly the same but could be considered matching for our 2nd MK day.

For this trip, I did buy the Disney shirts for Christmas, but they don't really match. So, I decided to make us two sets of matching shirts. One for our Epcot day and one for our MK day. I went to the Creative DISigns board here on the DIS for the Epcot shirts. The DISigners are fantastic! :thumbsup2 This is the design for our Epcot shirts...and since Nick, Shawna and Christian will be with us that day, I got them shirts too. I will only post the one with my name as an example. And I bought gray shirts for all of us!

And for our MK day, I am going to attempt to make these shirts I found on Pinterest. :worried:

They are made using small and large cupcake liners as the template and fabric paint. I didn't buy us all the same color shirt, but a nice variety.

When all is said and done....with all the fabric paint, shirts, and transfer paper, the t-shirts will cost less than $5 per shirt!

I will be sure to post pictures of the finished product. Shawna is coming over for a "craft day" on Thursday and we will work on them. We'll also work on the countdown chain I have planned...so excited about that!

And for the record...I did check with my boys and they agreed to wear matching shirts, but also made it very clear that it was only because it was Disney! Such good sports! ;) ;)

I was reading your report the other day and you mentioned seeing the triple A team in Rochester play, on one of our family trips we took The cat the fast fiery between Toronto and Rochester and saw a triple A game well we were there. Also you may want to watch out for games where the Buffalo Bisons are playing as they are for the next two years the Toronto Blue Jays Trippe A team.

So you managed to make a trip on the very short-lived fast ferry?! Such a shame, the craziness of that whole thing. Lots of money spent to get the ferry here, lots of money to spruce up the Port and surrounding park/pier area...just for the entire venture to go belly up. :rolleyes2

I wonder if Dan knows that the Bisons are the Blue Jays Triple A team this year.... I have a feeling he may be making that trip to Buffalo more often when he realizes!

EDIT: Of course he knew! I just managed to miss it!

Yeah it was actually pretty fun, there wasn't as much drama her over it as it wasn't really something we saw as something to impressive, traveling to Rochester wasn't really something most Torontonians think of or thought of at the time. The interesting thing is the customs building that got built here ended up getting used on a CBC show called the boarder and was used as a border crossing point in the show. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Border_(TV_series)

What sweet sweet boys you have to agree to the matching shirts! I can't wait to see how they turn out. Be sure to post instructions and not just pics. That may be something that I want to give a try.

Glad the boys are going along with the plan! I think all children need to understand that when you go through here:

the rules change. It's all about having fun and enjoying family!

Ha Ha. You just reminded me. DS and I were watching a youtube video of a family in Disney and they all wore Incredibles outfits for MNSSHP. I made the comment, "No way would I wear an Incredible costume" because I'm too pudgy to pull that off right now. And was surprised to hear my 13yo boy say, "I'd wear it..... in Disney." That's my baby, mama did something right. :cool1:

Missy, I love the t-shirts. I like the coordinating ones with the characters on them the best. You get to match but everyone gets their favorite. Nice. I've thought about doing that on our trip, but the issue is DH. He just doesn't do cartoon t-shirts or color. Ever. He's Mister Bland.
I once saw a black t-shirt with dark grey printing that said "I'm only wearing this until I find something darker." SOOO my husband. :rolleyes2

I really like the last shirt. I wonder if that would go over better with DH?

I showed him pictures of the tie-dye shirts I wanted to make and he raised an eye brow at me. He said he'd wear one if it had Donald Duck on it. :confused3
I don't think he understands how tie dye works.

I can't wait to see the finished shirts!!

Happy belated birthday as well!

I can't wait to make them! Thanks for the birthday wishes! :goodvibes

Exactly! Disney rules are not like everyday rules! :)

That's exactly how I felt when they agreed to wear matching shirts..I must have done something right! Sorry about the non-participatory hubby. Maybe you could just get him a coordinating color shirt so the pics look good...then everyone else can match! Or...I saw a pic of shirt one time that said, "I don't do matching shirts". Funny! :lmao:

LOL! Good luck tie dying a Donald shirt.... I'm very lucky that my DH likes to play along!

I would, but that means the rest of us have to wear blue, black or gray. :headache: Since I love color, I think we'll just have to be a non-matching Disney crew!
That's okay....we're going back! (Thank goodness, my hubby is as much a Disney junkie as I am, which makes up for the clothes... )

I totally agree....the matching shirts are SO not necessary! Simply loving Disney and being there together is more than enough! :thumbsup2

I've never bothered with matching shirts, and I definitely don't want to do it EVERY day, but I think it would be fun once.
I think I figured out a way to kill two birds with one stone though...
On militarydisneytips.com, he talks about how if you want to get chosen for the flag retreat at the Magic Kingdom, the best way to do so is to make the fact that you're military obvious. So I'm thinking CAMO Tie-Dye Mickey shirts! I think DH would be ok with that. Red, White, and Blue are also a possibility (but of course then there's blending problems with the red and blue).
I usually avoid anything that's too obvious, but I think it would be worth it if it could give DH the opportunity to help with the flag.

Alternatively, I could print off character silhouettes on iron-on transfer paper, so we'd each have a different character and just tie-dye the shirts straight out, or keep them plain.

I believe we did a very similar attraction to SOAT at DisneyQuest. I think it was called Virtual Space Mountain? Not sure, but we created our own roller coaster and then got in the simulator and "rode" it. Is that the same? We did like that and Innoventions is on the "maybe" list. We may have to look for that one in particular!

Same idea... but VERY different at the same time! The design part is similar but the ride at DisneyQuest is more like Mission: Space with the spinning centrifugre effect. The DQ ride made Tim sick & I started to get a little green after a second ride. Rides NEVER make me sick - that was the first and only time. SOAT has the design portion, then you sit in a simulator and watch the ride on video. The simulator goes up and down and tips side to side. It can go upside down too. It does not spin though. It's fun. You can see other people riding while you wait.

Happy Belated Birthday! I missed it here... hopefully I caught you on Facebook! I love your new Vera! I've been eyeing a new Hipster in "Go Wild". It's black, white & yellow. I keep trying to come up with a reason to buy it... it might have to be an early Mother's Day gift. ;)

I love your shirts. I can't wait to see how the painted shirts come out. :thumbsup2

I bought the boys a couple new shirts each that I'll give them for Easter. I asked them if they would wear their Disney shirts this year and they both said yes. I didn't ask them if they would wear matching shirts... so hopefully they like thier matching Perry shirts.

How is your dad doing? I hope his dialysis isn't too difficult.
