DS begged to return to @ Sci-Fi; so i relented & accepted the latest lunch ADR 3:55 p.m. (figured DH & I would just have a sandwich OOP since we have ADR @ Capt Jacks that evening).

Menu changed beginning of month & now the only thing he'll eat - steak - is only offered @ dinner...which begins @ 4:00 p.m.

Have tried to change for weeks to no avail. Each CM i asked @ Disney Dining tells me that if we are booked for lunch, we will be expected to order from the lunch menu...even if seated after 4:00 p.m.:confused3

Has anyone else been in this situation?

Were you able to order from dinner menu?

Hi

Never been in that situation exactly but they are pretty accomadating and as I guess the steak in the most expensive thing on either menu they aren't going to say no.

It depends on the restraurant. We went to the Coral Reef for a late lunch and I really wanted to try the shrimp pasta that was only on the dinner menu. I asked the server and he told me NO. As for getting the item because it's expensive, don't count on it. The Shrimp pasta was $24ish and they wouldn't let me order it, so I had to settle for a caesar salad ($14). All you can do is ask, but have a back up plan, as each restraurant has it's only set of rules that they follow.

Sci-fi will most likely accomodate the lunch menu request. I often have guests come in right during the change over time and as long as we are near the change-over, we can accomodate. If it is a further spread of time between lunch and dinner, the kitchen may not have the items for that dish available (hence the no to shrimp pasta at Coral Reef - no server passes up a $24 meal vs a cesaer salad on their own choice).

You can also check in early - that is a very off time and there is a parade at 3PM. Try checking in around then. You may have some good luck.

thanx for the replies...he wants the steak, now only on dinner menu:confused:

he's ordered an open face steak sandwich in the past.

Guess we could stop & ask @ the podium when we get to the park that afternoon.
