Just got back from the UK last night and now I'm ready to "talk" about our cruise
!
Strawberryblonde, me= 34 year old SAHM ready to cruise
DH= 33 year old husband of 10 years
DS = 7 year old son
DD= 4 year old daughter
We drove for FL from AL on Friday (3/19/04) morning. Took us about 9 hours and we found Ron Jon's without too much trouble. Inviting resort, easy check-in. We were there just before 5pm. Too bad the slide and lazy river close at 5pm. The pool stayed open until 10pm though and was warm.
First we dropped our overnight bags into the room and took a few pics of the room. My DH really teased me about this, especially when I explained we needed them for the DIS
. We swam next which the kids really enjoyed but the cool breeze did us in within the hour. Back to the room where the kids warmed up in the whirlpool bath and we all got into dry clothes. We had been snacking all day in the car so the kids weren't hungry yet, they wanted to play in the Children's Play Center. It is quite large and the kids loved it. Older kids were there as well who seemed to really like it. Playing games of rolling ball pit balls down the slides in a race ect. My DH stayed with our two while I roamed the resort a bit. Then DH went to the movie theater to watch a bit of an X-men flick while I watched our two. I got them out of there after about 1 1/2 hours of play by saying "mini-golf". The miniature course is outside in the side courtyards, simple but fun. You leave your room key to check-out balls and clubs but the cost is free.
We drove to Kelsy's and ordered a large alfredo/spinach pizza for @ $10. Kelsy's is right next door to the Radison so while waiting for our pizza we looked around the resort. There was some sort of convention party going on which gave a fun party atmosphere to the place. Adults everywhere having fun, I didn't see any kids, this was late at night though.
We ate our pizza back at our room while the kids finished their video on the VCR. The fold out couch bed was comfortable for my DS and the king size bed was fine as well (on the hard side not soft). Light came in through the window which made it hard for me to fall asleep but everyone else was out cold.
