Can I purchase the child's dining plan for my daughter even if she's not three?? My 2yr old already eats tons and she'll be 2 months shy of her 3rd bday when we go in October. We'd prefer for her to have her own food as well as snack credits for all those Mickey ice-creams!

The only thing is that they will probably charge you the child's park ticket price if you say she's 3.

Well I didnt intend on claiming she was 3 - just wondering if I can get her on the dining plan at 2?

I think the only way to put her on the dining plan is to say that she is three. You would be better off to pay for her meals out of pocket. If you are eating buffets for TS, she would eat for free there. In my experience, there are plenty of snack credit to share. (We always have 12-15 left at the end of the trip and we are a family with 4 adults (at least by dining plan standards).

No, you can not purchase the dining plan with out a ticket purchase.

You can pay out of pocket for anything you'd order for her. I went to the world with my kiddos at ages 3 & 14 months, then again at 4 & 2.5. For the most part they were able to share meals and then a little off our plates. We did quiet a few character buffets so my little one could get her own plate there.

Keep in mind that portions at Disney restaurants are large.

As for snacks, you can use your own snack credits and just share the Mickey bar with her. I tend to end up eating half my kids ice cream so it doesn't melt.

I honestly think the amount of food she will eat will not come close to the cost of a park ticket.

HTH!

I would call them to find out. The worse they could say is no. I pulled this off their website: "Guests under the age of 3, but they may share from an adult plate at no charge, or a meal may be purchased from the menu. The price of
the meal will be added to your bill. Guests ages 3-9 must order from a children’s menu where available." They might not let you purchase a child's DDP without a Children's ticket since everything is put on your "Key to the World". But then again, it's Disney and they work very well with accommodating guest with their needs. Never hurts to give it a shot.

Just use the dining credits for buffet meals and pay out of pocket for the Mickey Bars. You'll come out far better. Look at home many meals are all-you-care-to-eat.

They definitely won't let you purchase the dining plan without a ticket unless staying on points through DVC or with an AP package.

They won't let you do it unless you say the child is 3 and buy her park tickets. I called about my youngest DD when we were originally planning on going in May of this year because she can eat my two oldest under the table but they will not budge on this one. When I did the math, it was cheaper to buy DD a few OOP meals than to have her listed as 3 to get the plan.

There are many buffet or family style options for TS (Whispering Canyon, Ohana, etc) where she can eat as much as she wants without paying for a kids meal. And at other times, you will find that there may be enough food to go around without ordering extra. If you do need more food, most CS locations have great options other than a kids meal too. When we went in Dec. I ordered an adult Cheese Pizza meal at Pinochio Haus and then some breadsticks and I still had food left over after feeding me, and both my ds ages 4 and 1! We also had tons of snacks left at the end when we did the DDP so there will probably be plenty to go around there. You will come out very far ahead paying a few thing OOP rather than adding a ticket and the plan.

Check your dates, if you say your DD is 3 and need a park ticket, one of the deals is your child 'stays and plays free' then you could just purchase the dining for her. If you are already using a code or pin, you're most likely out of luck.

:thumbsup2 This is just about what I was going to say!

I have a two year old nephew who eats more than my 5 year old nephew so I completely understand. If they won't let you purchase the dining plan for him (and so you don't have to purchase park tickets), why not put the cost of the dining plan on a Disney gift card before you go. The only downside is some kiosks may not be able to take them. You could put like $20 a day on a card for him and have it to pay for his stuff like kids meals and ice creams. Anything left over could go on a souvenir. Then you have everything paid for in advance and can get him his own stuff.

The gift cards can be purchased online through the Disney store, just make sure you get the one that can be used at the resorts. I'd post a link but it won't let me since I'm a newbie.

Kids meals are cheap and as mentioned buffets are free, so you're just as well if not better off not purchasing the DDP for a 2 yr old (even if it were allowed.)

CRT gave us a free meal for our 1 yr old too.
