2nd week in December crowd levels?

I know that it's difficult to predict because of the recent opening of the new HP section, but does anyone have any guesses about the crowd level during the second week of December? I want to stop by Universal after the podcast cruise, and I'm trying to decide about staying at a Universal property. I'd also like to visit WDW so I'm trying to figure out if it's better to stay @ Universal for a couple of days to take advantage of early morning entry. Or if it'd be better to stay @ Disney and take the Mears bus over for a day or two. Thanks in advance.

I'm hoping that it is, Damo. I checked Josh's crowd calendar, and he predicts that it will be slow. Fingers crossed.

Unfortunately the cat is out of the bag a little bit about that time of the year. Josh has that week as a 4 at one time it would have been a 2. My first couple of trips that time of the year were almost as uncrowded as September. But with the low rates, Christmas decorations, and normally mild weather (pack a little bit of everything) and lack of complete insane crowds like 2 weeks later makes it a bit more popular not.

To the other question, if you're going to stay onsite, and you're going to Universal, why wouldn't you stay onsite at Universal for at least one night?

The only reason I'm still on the fence, johde, is just logistics. Is it worth the hassle of figuring out how to get from one place to the next? I've never rented a car while in Orlando. I've always used the Magical Express to get to WDW, and then Mears to get to US. I'm interested in staying onsite at US. But what are my options to get from MCO to the cruise ship terminal to US to WDW to MCO? Car rental or taxi?
