As I watched Castaway Cay come into view from Deck 10 early Tuesday morning, I was not impressed. Couldn't believe everyone was so excited about that little sliver of land. Boy was I wrong!!! As we approach and it beame clear how blue the water was, I was blown away. It lacks tall vegetation from afar. We quickly hurried off the ship, stopped by the post office to mail postcards (bring cash), got our picture made in front of the ship, (they have a second chance if the line is long) and headed to the family beach. Snagged a couple of chairs with an umbrella, and sat to watch my kids have a great time in that beautiful water. My son and I are very fair skinned, and with Bullfrog sunscreen 45SPF we did not burn. Sand was powdery and full of small white shells. The water was cool, but you quickly adjusted. Lunch was okay, but the fruit was outstanding. At 1:15 we were off to the Seahorse Catamaran Snorkle excursion. We motored away from CC with the Wonder in the background. The water was amazing. After giving a short lesson, we were off the catamaran and snorkling on top of a reef. The fish were pretty, but it took alittle time to get used to the snorkle. By the time you were well adjusted the hour was over and time to go. They hosed the salt water off of you but, the mask left black marks around our face. By the time we arrived at the dock, we had about 45 minutes left at CC, but were tired and funny looking, so we got back on the ship to shower and get ready for Pirate Night.
We skipped the Golden Mickeys, and arrived at Triton's for Pirate Night. The food was really good, especially the beef tenderloin. Deck Party was high energy and crowded. Fireworks in and of themselves were not that spectular, but knowing you were on a ship in the middle of the sea with fireworks, made them very remarkable!
