some DL newbie questions for all the experts out there:

1. if fantasmic is set for 9 and 10:30, when will the special halloween fireworks be - 9:30?

2. when do I need get over to the viewing area for the second show, as soon as the first show crowds start to leave?

3. if the fireworks are at 9:30, can I wait to go over untl the fireworks are over?

thanks for the help!

Not sure about the Halloween Fireworks but usually fireworks are at 9:25.

This year F! is especially popular because of the refurb and new dragon. So if you want a decent spot I would try get there by 9:30 after the first showing ends.

Traditionally you could do this and still see F!. It depends on how good of a seat you want. It will work but you may be in a standing only area. By next year F! popularity will drop some back to the previous level and would make it easier to do what you propose and still have a decent spot.

The bottom line is that you won't get the best seats for both. So choose one over the other, and hopefully you can get great seats for one and pretty good seats for the other.

When I went in June, we watched the fireworks from the Rivers of America (where Fantasmic is shown). We had a good view of the fireworks, but we couldn't really see the stuff over by the castle (you wouldn't be able to see Zero fly very well). Since this is the first year of the Halloween fireworks, we're not sure how much is going to be in the sky vs. stuff you have to be in the hub to see (Zero, castle/Matterhorn effects, etc.) However, we got front row seats for the 10:30 Fantasmic which was great (although there was no dragon).

We just did this on Labor Day. We watched the 9:25 fireworks from the hub area Main Street side. We then walked with the herds to Fantasmic! 10:30 show. I had also done this in late July with my husband, and we found a great viewing spot in front of the Mansion on the docks, just to the right of the smoking area (didn't smell any smoke, btw).

Keep in mind, I did this on Labor Day with a group of more "mature" ladies, one with a walker, one with a cane, and one who probably should have had a walker or a cane, and we all made it to our viewing area by 9:55. IT CAN BE DONE!!! :woohoo:

I have done it a couple times myself. The challenge is whether one has smaller kids that cannot see from a standing area and either need to be in the sitting area or up front in a standing area. It also depends on big ones group is. When we have a smaller group (2-4) it is easier to find space than a larger group. On my August trip we had 11 people in our group which it made it tough. :)
