So, our 2nd day we are planning to do MK, be there at rope drop, the head back to the hotel after lunch for some rest. Mid to late afternoon I am taking DD to BBB for her make over and then wanted somewhere for dinner in MK while she was all done up (she is 9, so she will not be in costume, just the hair and make up, maybe a princess t shirt??).

We were thinking Crystal Palace, but now I'm not so sure. My kids really aren't into those characters. DH said no to CRT because my son will be bored silly. Any other suggestions?

(we are doing Chef Mickey's day one)

Hi

I would have said Crystal Palace also, but maybe you can get the monorail to the Poly and try O'Hana or the ferry to Wilderness Lodge & do Whispering Canyon.

We really like Liberty Tree...It's not a character dinner anymore but we think the food is great. There are not a lot of TS choices in MK...the only others are the PLaza, CRT and Tony's Town Square none of which we have eaten at so I can't comment on those. As for Crystal palace if you are already doing a buffet ( chef mickey's) maybe a sit down meal would be a nice change.

This is what I was going to suggest as well.

My first thought was Crystal Palace. 1900 Park is good for dinner and just over at the GF - but this is a Cinderella theme dinner as well, though not as crowded or overpriced as CRT.

Did you want characters?

My first thought was Crystal Palace, as well. If no characters are your thing, try the Grand Floridian Cafe.

MK, CP. But if you are willing to leave the park try 1900 PF at GF. DS5 liked both (not a huge Pooh & friends fan) and CRT (did this for DD3). There is CM too if you want a character meal.

If you want to stay in the park, I strongly suggest the Plaza Restaurant. It is a little different than all of the "heavy" table service meals you will probably eat. It is soups, salads and sandwiches. The portions are huge and they are very good. Just be sure to save room for the shakes and the desserts. :worship: As for outside of the MK at one of the resorts, the only one we've eaten at is the WCC--we weren't impressed--DH got sick on the skillet, I didn't like the food--overrated, and the service was terrible (we were there for two hours for just two people). I hear great things about Ohanas and Kona and we are going to try one of them in September. There have also been really good reviews of the Wave at the CR lately as well.

if she's wanting to show off the lovely hair/make up, I'd say hop the monorail and go to the Grand Floridian Cafe...lovely resort, lovely surroundings. No characters, no noisy buffet & nice menu. Wonderful desserts.

the Princess shirt will be fine - let her wear what she wants!! also while your dh and ds are out and about - head down mainstreet next to Tony's inside the Kodak place they have a photopass photographer and lots of places to get pictures - my dd is older too= but I'm glad we got those pics!!

to eat - my dd favorite food is LTT - if you want to leave MK I'm hearing the Wave restaurant in Contemporary (1TS) is getting great reviews... (and mom and dad can have a cocktail - they are showing great milkshakes for the kids!)
