I'm loving it. Got in MCO at about 850 am Sat the 8th. Was at CSR probably by 950 at the latest. Bus driver from MCO to CSR could've used a little less caffine to tell the truth, was about the roughest ride I've ever had. I mean, gas, brake, gas, brake, I felt worse after that then I have when riding rides with 6 inversions. Anywho, that's not CSR's fault. Check in was a breeze, but here is where my first snafu hit, again, not CSR's fault, and really not even a snafu, but my TA just lost any extra I was going to give her. I showed up and I asked if they got my request for room. They said yes, and we have you room ready!! I was like WOOHOO, 10 am and my ROOM IS READY!!!

Yes sir, you room is blah blah blah in Cabanas 9A...

Wait, excuse me did you say 9A??
Yes sir just as you requested!! /me slaps forehead. The TA didnt read my request. I had requested any cabana EXCEPT 9A...

I said well it was supposed to be any but cab 9A. They said No Problem, let us put you in Ranch...... I just zoned out.. Didnt even hear what they finished, and I must've shown on my face.. The fellow, Alan I think it was, saw my dispair, LOL. When I said 'anything but Cab 9A' I had meant 'any cabana but 9A'.. That was just a lack of communication on my part.. So, once more to the room grab bag.. Ok sir, how about Casita 3, room .... (Dont think I'm going to tell you do you?) I said that will work fine..

OH, sidetrack. When we first start checking in, and get the room taken care of, they say, Oh Mr. B., you seem to be popular!! You have 2 messages waiting!!! I was thinking to myself, huh?? Well one was for my hoop dee doo revue, and the other was to let me know that the business center had a delivery they were holding!!

OK, so I have my room, I have my messages, and we're OFF to find the room.. LOL.. OK.. unless you get lucky, IMO, expect your first Disney adventure to not be Finding Nemo, but to be Finding Room :).

Now this sounds like I've had a heck of a start, again, not any 'problems' and none of it CSR's fault.. It seems from listening to this it's time for dinner! Nope, after this, it's a total of about, oh 10:15? MAYBE 10:30. I call the business center and they let me know that yes, I have 2 cases of water and another box from staples.. They say I can pick it up, or Bell services can deliver it for me. I ask how long and they say they will call me right back.. About literally, 90 seconds later, the phone rings. Mr. B, we can have the to your room in about 10 minutes. So here comes my water and stuff, tip the delivery dude, and there's my stuff!!!

Yes, I did have a bill attached for .40/lb. Mine was $12 something. So it does appear that you get billed at CSR for delieveries. Maybe sometimes you dont, but I would plan on it. Still, it's not a big deal IMO.

The grounds: Great, wonderful, beautiful.
Pepper Market: Good, IMO a bit pricey, but not overly so. Great to have a place like it there.

Transportation FROM CSR to places. Overall, VERY pleased with it. We always get on at El Centro. Waited about 10 minutes at most for a bus. Granted it's only my 2nd day.

The transportation back TO CSR, seems to be slow unless you get lucky and get there when there is a bus. I just seemed like it took an amount longer then other resorts. Granted, leaving Disney Studios on Saturday, I think we only needed 2 busses after fantasmic, but it sure seemed like it took a while to get the 2nd bus there. I thought I had read that the stops on leaving the resort were supposed to be 2, 3, 4 and then 1, that seems to be happening, BUT it seems they are doing the 2,3,4,1 on drop off also. Did I just miss this happening???

Oh yea, had an early Boma breakfast, decided to take a cab, took at least 30 seconds for the cab to pull around, and the fare was $8 - $9 bucks. We did the same after we came back from AK today when we were heading to Hoop Dee Doo, this time the cab took about 60 seconds to get to pick us up. Took the cab to WL to check it out, then boated over to FW for HDDR.. Bottom line is, you wont wait at CSR for a cab. Dunno if all are that way or not, but it rocks, and IMO WELL worth the price to save some time.

Bus back to CSR from HDDR was simple, they have 3 or 4 busses that will take people to their resorts, they just ask where you need to go an assign you that way.

So for CSR overall service, atmosphere, and getting you TO where you want to be, I have to FULLY recommend it!!

Oh yea.. buzz, or whoever, what's the trick to the AC thermostat again?

On the thermostat, push the power button and the down arrow (button that adjusts the temp) at the exact same time. If you do this correctly, you will see the letters "bp" where the temp normally shows. You are now bypassing the sensors in the room. You can then set the temp to whatever you want and it keeps the room that cold whether you are in it or not. The maintenance man said that you might have to do this once a day as the thermostat tends to go back to sensor mode after 24 hours. We found that it stayed on bypass for a couple of days at a time. It was great to come back to a cold room or not wake up in the middle of the night in a sweat again. The CM that did this for us said it was not a problem doing this as they do it for people all the time.

OK, so here we are starting day 4. The first few times I used the busses FROM the parks, must have been a fluke, as the last few times I've used the return trip havent had to wait nearly as long.

Having WAY too much fun right now!! CSR RULES for amount of people trying to get back to the resort it seems. Was at the MVMCP tonight (well last night, the 11th) it was actually SOLD OUT! I was amazed. Left the park at midnight, see a 'Sea of Humanity' at the bus stops. Walk up, and there are like 6 people in our side, a bus shows up about 10 minutes later, and we're off. So anything 'bad' I said about the busses before, I totally take back.

I do promise to try to post more when I get home. This was supposed to be more a resort report then a live report, but I guess I'm here, live, so it's a live one..

Look forward to reading your review!

I cant believe we will be there next month! My little boys first time to Disney.

Question for you: People seem to be picky about where their room is at CSR. We are not picky people but do you have any recommendations on which part of the resort to request?

DH loves to fish. He can bring a pole. Is there a better room where he could step out the door and just fish? Bottom floor facing the water would be so super for him. Where would that be? And do we call CSR to request?

I know it is Jan, but I would like to sit in the hot tub and I would love for DS to experience the slide. I am guessing the pool is heated?

Oh yea. DH is a conventioneer. DS and I will be hitting the parks.
We might hit Universal in the evenings with DH. Last time I looked at the Universal site, you could get a ticket that works all week. I will check that out closer

Buzz, you can answer too if needed! Thanks!

Someone that's actually 'used' CSR for those things will have to enlighten you. I spent very, very little time exploring. All we explored was the path from El Centro to Casita room 3365 :). We were pretty acquainted with the gift shop, the bus stops and pepper market a couple of times :). We found 2 hidden mickeys (with some help) around el centro, and bus stops 2,3 and 4 also :)

(cabanas are closest to the marina and lake. If you have a pool, casita 5 is close too) And do we call CSR to request? (call Disney to add a building request to your reservation)

Here are some good building choices.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge. (Most convenient location and most preferred)

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. (Closest to the Pool)

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool (and was the old smoking optional building).

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #2.
