2nd Anniversary + 2nd Chances = Our 2nd Cruise! 7/20 NEWS!!

As they say, all good things must come to an end and so concluded our cruise

DSC_0973.jpg

This picture pretty much sums up how we felt - sad, sad, sad (oh and tired and in desperate need of a comb or hat )

We had already decided the previous night that we were going to skip out on breakfast and just head directly off the ship as soon as they allowed. Which means there was only one thing left to do ... take final pictures on our verandah of course (oh yeah and brush our hair!)

Once we checked, re-checked and triple checked our stateroom to make sure nothing of importance was left behind we made our way off the ship. Getting our luggage was a piece of cake and it only took us a few minutes to get through customs :thumbsup2 From there we were led directly to a Disney bus and were on our way to WDW! Those cruise tears were short lived, let me tell ya :rotfl:

It wasn't long before we were zooming past my favorite sign in the whole wide world

DSC_0974.jpg

See, I told ya we were zooming. This poor picture has everything to do with going way over the speed limit and nothing to do with the fact that I was not prepared to take the picture and was actually digging my camera out of its bag as we were approaching the sign :rolleyes1

We made 4 stops and then sat there wondering if we were on the right bus because there was nobody else there but us. Almost as if he could read our minds the bus driver said final stop coming up next ... whew!

And then the moment we had been waiting for (well, besides waiting for the cruise and eating at Palo and going to Castaway Cay and ... well you get the point;)). Ahem, as I was saying, we pulled through these fancy gates

And I think I might have had butterflies in my belly. I couldn't believe we were actually going to be staying at the Grand Floridian. Seriously, I didn't think we would ever be able to afford it here. Who cares if it was only for one night and only because we were lucky enough to receive a super awesome pin code!

Upon pulling up we were greeted by one of the bell hops (is that what they're called ) who carried all our luggage inside for us and made sure somebody came to the counter to help us.

I wish I would have remembered the CMs name because she was so nice and pleasant and made sure to make us feel extremely welcome. It only took a few minutes for her to get us checked in before we were being escorted off to our room.

And what a room it was!

Heaven I tell ya! And the room? Well it was nothing compared to the view!

DSC_0992.jpg

Wait a second ... did I forget to mention we were upgraded from a standard view to a theme park view :woohoo:

After resting in our room for about 45 seconds :rotfl: we made our way over to the monorail to head off to our favorite park ...

Two monorails later and we pulled up to our favorite park ... nope not the Magic Kingdom ...

Ahhh, I could spend days and days and days here and never get sick of it!

We didn't have any concrete plans other than a lunch and dinner reservation and ending our trip with a ride on Soarin'

So first things first we headed over to The Land to get fast passes before rushing off to make it in time for our lunch reservation.

I know this place gets plenty of mixed reviews but (for lunch) we love it!
We had to wait for about 20 minutes because the place was packed, but it wasn't a big deal. We just walked around the marketplace until our name was called.

After we thoroughly stuffed our faces we decided to just wander around the World Showcase. Neither of us were really in the mood for any rides, we just wanted to soak up the last of our vacation.

Unfortunately, it was a scorcher that day and the humidity had to be at least 1000% I was starting to fill sick and going inside the air conditioned buildings wasn't doing anything to help me. Candi kept saying we should just leave but I felt so guilty - like I was ruining our last day of vacation. I finally told him that I would get something cold to drink and if I didn't feel better we could head back to the hotel.

Right around then we stumbled upon the Kaki Gori stand and I figured it was as good a time as any to finally try one :thumbsup2 Man was that thing good! And I did feel better (at least for the moment). So we decided that cold refreshments were the ticket to feeling better and headed over to Club Cool

From there we headed back to the land to see how long the wait was for Soarin. It actually wasn't too bad but our fast passes were good soon so we decided to ride Living with the Land instead. I hadn't been on this ride since 1998 and Candi never had. I always talk about it but it had never been running on our previous trips. We both enjoyed it and decided to get in line for Soarin since there was nothing else we wanted to do. After our first go round it was approaching our ADR time but neither of us were hungry so we decided to use our fastpasses and wait for the front row this time. And we with that we decided there was no better way to conclude our time at Epcot and headed back to the hotel where this was waiting in our room for us

We discussed going swimming but decided instead to shower and nap before grabbing something to eat and settling in for the fireworks (from our ROOM :yay:)

In the end we just grabbed food from the quick stand which did the job, but, honestly we weren't fans. We thought Roaring Forks at Wilderness Lodge was much more tasty and cheaper too :confused3

Oh well, you can't complain when you are sitting on the balcony of your hotel room, eating your (not so tasty) dinner and watching this

It was the perfect way to end our anniversary turned pregnancy celebration vacation (and I only cried for the first half of the plane ride home ;))

Stay tuned for exciting news ....

How wonderful that you got upgraded at the GF!! And wow! What an amazing view!! :thumbsup2

We were sooo excited and truly did love our room. However, had I not been feeling sick, I would have been torn as to choose between staying at Epcot to watch Illuminations or go back to the room to watch Wishes. Rough life to have to make such decisions right? ;)

What a fabulous view from your room at the GF!! It's too bad that you weren't feeling great and couldn't fully enjoy your last day, but watching the EWP & Wishes from your balcony is a nice consolation :thumbsup2

Thanks so much for sharing your trip! I look forward to reading the next report from James's first visit!

We also loved the San Angel Inn! I have very happy memories of sitting by the "river" watching the "volcano" erupt and waving to folks on the boats! The chef made an extra effort to make a meal that suited us as we were eating vegetarian. I'd go back there in a flash:thumbsup2

Just found this trippie, enjoying it ! I lived in NM a couple of times ( Air Force brat) - where in NM did you live ? Thanks for sharing !
