$29 air Airtran from Philly Hurry

I couldn't get here fast enough to spread the news. I was typing so fast that I typed $29 in the original post. I got $27 too.

I never added my membership rewards number when I booked. So I called Airtran to ask them to do it. The rep told me that my reservations shows a balance due of $20. I Have a confirmation showing $149.60 (4 tickets) and I paid this in full. The Rep said their system shows a $20 fee due in addition to what I already paid. The rep kept saying that this was so strange. I just paid the $20 because I didn't want to run the risk of having them cancel my $27 airfare. I wonder if the $27 fares are a mistake?

I'm guessing the $20 is the $5 per person phone fee. I was told they charge this whenever you call to do anything with your reservation. So far they haven't dissappointed me.

Where do you sign up to see those alerts? I have ding for SWA. Do they have something similar?

There were no alerts that I know of for the $27 sale. I have been checking air fare for different airlines several times a day for over a week. That is how I found the sale. I did sign up for their email specials, but this sale was not emailed yet.

This is just amazing. They actually offer a lot more dates than what they list under "specials." I tried to find a way to go for a quickie but my kids will already be missing a couple days of school in Nov. for Jersey week with my parents & bro/sil. Also dh only gets 3 weeks of vacation and I think I've used up all his time. He really thinks I'm crazy now!! It's just killing me to let this go!

Does anyone know what Air Tran's cancellation policy is? SW will sometimes refund a portion of a cancelled reservation, will let you hold those "cancelled" reservation funds for later use (or give the reservation funds to another person). Is Air Tran that accommodating should plans fall through?

I've called AT couple different times & been told (it's also stated on their web site) that a $60 fee applies to each ticket & it will be held as a credit in your account for 1 year.

Others have insisted that they've rebooked the exact same flight for a sale fare after they made the original ressie and got the same credit...i've asked; but was denied...guess it never hurts to inquire.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!! I actually had my travel agent check fares around noon today for my August trip and she tells me AirTran was the best deal at $208 non-stop from Philly. I told her to keep looking as I wanted to see if the price dropped more.

A little birdie told me to check the DIS Transportaton boards and I see this! I had to buy airfare for 5 so I wound up saving almost $250 thanks to you (and Air Train). *g*

I just booked one way for 5 pp at $179 total! I am so happy!

The air port is about 2-3 hours away but I just saved about $400 one way so its worth it I think!

I just checked Airtran again and it looks like the $27 from the last week of October are all gone. I'm glad I booked. Anyone still see any $27 fares at other times.

I told my dad about this but he's nervous that they will be smaller planes, does anyone know the size of these? Also, he lives in jersey-came up on mapquest as being 1hr.22min from Philly and he usually goes to Newark. How difficult is the drive to this airport?

Go to the section that says web specials and then look for your city, but I think yesterday was the last day.
