28 days to go - My favorite smells of WDW

Mmmm, I love the smell of the apple pie in Mickey's Philharmonic "Be Our Guest" scene. I get so emotional. The scent of the pine trees in Soarin' is exhilarating to me. I also really love the smell of the Jambo House lobby. My girls say that SSR's lobby has a smell that they love, so I guess all Disney lobbies have a smell.

The apple pie in Mickey's Philharmagic is one of my DH and my favorites! Also passing over the orange groves in Soarin! And...what it is about the ice cream shops? Those waffle cones really do their job of getting you in the doors! Isn't it funny how once you start thinking of things it almost transports you to WDW?

Oh, just thought of another one...the smell in the air just after the fireworks are finished at MK and Epcot! Makes me smile :)

One more... the mixed smells of burnt marshmallows, ash and popcorn & bug spray at the Ft Wilderness campfire & Movie :goodvibes.

I believe it was a summer night when after Illuminations, the smoke from the fireworks just blanketed us on the France side of lake. Combination of smoke, hot and hazy air was cool. :cool1:

4. Inside Water Boat Rides - My wife and I joke about this smell all the time. But this smell, which could be offensive to some, reminds us that we're in the World and most likely in one of our favorite attractions. Pirates, Splash, Mexico and Norway boat rides all have this mildewy smell. Smells like fun to me!

There's nothing like that moist, mildewy smell to get you in the mood, we always start the day at MK with POTC!

Mmmm, I love the smell of the apple pie in Mickey's Philharmonic "Be Our Guest" scene.

Love it!, we also love the smell or oranges and pine trees at Soarin!

No idea WHY I love it, but, the smell of Rome burning on Spaceship Earth!

Love it, also love the musty, decay smell of the Exxon Energy Ride with Ellen Degeneres as you head into the dinosaur section!

I love the smell of the OKW lobby when I walk in, it's almost as thrilling as hearing the words, "Welcome Home" yes, cheesy but it does it for me.

I love the smell of the OKW Villas when we walk in!

and favorite chldhood and adult smell is walking into MK, that little popcorn stand to the left, I buy popcorn there each and every time I walk in, no matter the time of day! There's nothing like that buttery, salty goodness of Disney popcorn. Of course I always ask, Popcorn anyone, they all say no and then they can't keep their mits out of mine! I can't tell you how many of those souvenir buckets I've bought over the years!

There's really only 2 smells that finish me off at Disney, really gags me, the smell of those darn turkey legs and the wet smell of the bathrooms at TL & BB! Yuck!

Great Thread! :)

I think the AP restaurant provides that smell. I do love the SSR lobby with the smells and music. If they could only add that to every SSR building, I really think that would improve everyone's perception of SSR because you do not go through the lobby everyday.

I love the smell of suntan lotion because it reminds me of vacation.

The funnel cakes at the counter service as you cross the bridge going near the Hall of Presidents!

#1 is Laila. I buy a bottle every year... my fam loves it!
#2 AKV lobby and public rooms. Its like cedar-y, woods-y cinnomon-y
#3Rose n Crown The fish n chip, and beer-y musty smell.......

The smell of the greenhouses on/in Living With the Land. Also know as the only boring ride at Disney, according to my 7yo daughter.

Gasoline smell at Tomorrowland Speedway
The smells in Soarin
Walking by the bakery in Norway
Smell of great beer in Germany (that one might be in my head)
The smell of fries as you walk into frontierland from Pirates
BC Lobby
Torches around lake before Epcot fireworks
Diner smell in Beaches and Cream

i don't know if any of you live or are from the central PA area - i have some family that lives there and they have this lunch meat called lebonan bologna. it looks like salami but...it's not. don't ask me what it is but it's delish. anyway, it smells just like rome burning! one time as a teenager i was riding spaceship earth with my parents and as we passed rome burning i said, "wow! smells like lebanon bologna" sure enough, they agreed with me.

i was camping with my 86 year old grandpa and his side of the family over 4th of july weekend in gettysburg and they had that for lunch. said to hubby - smell! it's rome burning!

LOL, if you love the stench of Mouse Gear sewage, you should walk through Tomorrowland. Sometimes you can get a whiff of it there too! :snooty:

I thought of another one...I like the smell of the Maelstrom, particularly in the room where you see the oil rigs.
