We are first time cruisers. I just found this site and have been reading for hours. My husband and I are taking my niece(13) and twin nephews(10) on a 4 day cruise the last of January. One of the boys is a very early riser so I booked connecting rooms-2596 and 2594. Now, I am really wondering if I should have booked the cat4 with the veranda. The price is about the same for both so price was not the issue. I would really appreciate any help and opinions from those of you with experience. Thanks

I would definitely get the two lower category rooms!! Although we have never been in the family suite, I have heard that it is not much bigger than a regular verandah room and would be pretty crowded with 5 people. Also, if you take the two rooms you get double the storage space, 2 showers, 4 sinks and 2 toilets. Although the verandah was nice on our 2nd cruise (upgrade) we did not mind having just a porthole on our first and I think the extra space of two rooms more than makes up for the loss of the verandah.
