We both agreed to spend $25 on each other this year due to a big trip a few months after Christmas.

I am at a loss....He likes to play the guitar, cars, anything funny, and playing his xbox.

I got him a custom guitar pick for father's day or else I would be doing that for Christmas:rotfl2:We don't share the same hobbies or I would probably have more ideas. I thought about a video game, but $60 a piece for the new ones (not to mention I despise video games LOL) :scared1:

Any suggestions?:confused3

Get him a gamefly membership. You get one month free when you sign up. It's then about $15 per month after that. Get him the free month and then pay for 2 months. Would cost you roughly $30.

It would give him a chance to try out some games during the winter months and then when warm weather rolls around, your membership is done.

My son is also a guitar lover so I've bought a lot of those accessory gifts. You could do a guitar stand, new electric cords (kinda boring, haha) chord books or a guitar strap. My son builds custom guitar pedals for pocket money in college--not sure if they run that cheap, but you could check out other pedals on ebay, craigslist.

There's also a guitar pick cutter (amazon or ebay) that you punch out your own guitar picks from used gift cards, hotel cards, etc...

For XBox, I'd wait for the Black Friday deals and try to snatch a good one.

The custom guitar pick is probably not something he uses every day. I got DH a neat tin of picks one year. There is also cleaner for the instrument or string sets. Many of the guitar companies have t-shirts and other clothing. Maybe something to match his brand. Does he like to experiment with other types of playing? Maybe a slide (guess that's what you call them).

A gift card to Guitar Center or his favorite place would also probably work. Fair warning, if he's like most musicians I know the $25 would go toward another instrument and cost you lots more.

Hoodies, tshirts??! Buy some sexy pjs for you to wear. Merry Xmas, hubs! pixiedust:

You said he likes anything funny..any comedy clubs in your area? $25 might cover admission for two? Or you could buy him a DVD of some classic standup? or, maybe a few classic comedies from the 2/$5 bin at Walmart?

We keep the presents pretty simple too since it seems like we're always going on a trip a month or two from Christmas. Last year I felt I've exhausted gift giving options over the last several years so I went with a consumable item; I got him both a bacon and a sausage sample box from the local butcher. The boxes were around $30 ea. Who wouldn't want bacon for a present?

Maybe during Black Friday you will find your money will go a little bit further. You may also check into Groupon or Living Social Deals. You might find something interesting there!

Does he collect picks? I know when DS use to collect them, his teacher suggested getting a notebook with coin collecting pages in it to store the picks in. They fit in the slots perfectly and he had a great storage place.
