Hi. Just noticed there’s a credit on my card for $25.08. We leave next Saturday on the Fantasy. Any idea what that might be? Just curious. I always love getting money back!

It’s a port fee refund. They estimate how much the port will charge them per passenger when they sell the cruise, and refund any excess when they are actually billed in the weeks leading up to that port visit.

In the past, DCL tried to get extra port fees from guests that had already booked a cruise and it didn’t go over very well. They now prefer to charge a bit more upfront and refund instead of running the risk of covering the extra fees themselves.

Well we sail in two weeks still waiting on a stateroom assignment and got an email today from DCL telling men my reservation was confirmed and excited that I would finally getting my stateroom!

NOPE

just a boring email telling me that they are giving me $2.12 refunded back to my credit card!

Oh well, the wait continues!

Just like what was stated above, the port fees are estimated -- usually estimated higher than they'll actually be. So you may get a small refund per guest within a few weeks of the cruise.

We got it too and we're on that cruise! Eight days to go!
