$249/night Yacht Club 12/27 & 12/28??!!

Hey all,

I was just on the phone with CRO because I was trying to add 2 nights to an existing reservation for 12/24-12/27 at CSR. They said that they didn't have anything at CSR and then he offered to move me for my 1st 3 nights and add the 2nd two nights for a total of 5 nights at the Yacht Club for $249/night

I couldn't believe it - a deluxe at Christmas for only $249/night!

I asked why and he said that it's because the Mod resorts are booked solid and there's still room at the deluxes. I'm not sure if you have to have an existing reservation or how it works, but I thought I'd share.

PS - I didn't take it because I have CSR for $99/night and I don't NEED the other nights - or that's what I tell myself

Thanks for the heads up, hope it helps someone. I was offered $199/night for YC this past July when I called in a similar situation. Sadly had to cancel it and couldn't enjoy the offer!!

Marketing randomly puts rooms on a really good discounted rates to encourage trying another resort for a good price. We never know when they are going to pop up and it's not something we can ask for when we are searching for a price. $249 is almost 50% off!!

I thought that was the case - another board member was trying to get YC the same days, and was frustrated because they were told 'sold out' and I got the upsell offer. (may have been due to number of nights)

Frankly, I think that it's a smart move as it may introduce people to something new..

The exact same thing happened to me, same time last year. I called (nearly last minute) inquiring about anything at a value or a moderate. The rate I was quoted at the moderate was very high (over $200, I recall). Just as I was about to say "thanks for checking for me", she said, "hmmm, looks like there is a room at the Yacht club for $229 a night." I jumped on it. Then, at check-in I was told that I got upgraded to a water view room. And, it turned out to be right on Cresent Lake.

The rack rate for that room was $520 a night. We stayed three nights. That was a great new years.
