Found this article http://www.wral.com/news/local/politics/story/7040939/ talking about how tax refunds will be slow coming, but not as bad as last year. It mentioned that they need money coming in before it goes out. Since most people wait until the last minute to send in their taxes owed, it may take awhile to get refunds.

We just sent in our taxes so it looks like we won't be getting our back until next year

We're hoping our fed taxes come faster!

We haven't gotten ours back yet either and we filed at the end of Jan, beginning of Feb.

Yep, it has been in our paper that NC will be delaying refunds so they don't run out of money. Last year, we waited forever for our refund, and it was less than $100. This year we have to pay (which is much more typical for us for NC), and I haven't mailed it yet. Sorry to those of you waiting, but we don't owe that much either - certainly not enough for everyone on this thread!

The states have decided to keep the money for themselves,, How about a little interest ( the amount they get on THEIR bank accounts) for with holding our refunds for their vacations coming up?

Sorry, I am one of the ones who owes(not very much), but they will get it on April 15. They probably have to wait for us procrastinators to send ours in before they can send yours.

I filed our NC return in mid-January and recieved our refund within 2 or 3 weeks (I was shocked because it was deposited before our Fed was). I think our return was around $800 or so.

Add me to this list.....Sorry!!! DH absolutely refuses to do our personal taxes until the last possible moment so that he won't have to part with his money. I keep telling him it's like pulling off a bandaid.....do it quick and get it over with!

Filed early Feb & haven't gotten anything. About a week before we filed, there was an article in the paper stating that they were holding the refunds. So, I'm more surprised at the ones who HAVE gotten theirs already.
