24 Desserts and 124 Food Pics!! A June 2011 Dining Report**Pics Back & Complete 8/17

There is no excuse for that! They should have helped your Dad even if you were staying offsite, much less at another Disney resort! What has happened to Disney Customer Service?:confused3

I absolutely agree. I don't know what's happened to Disney Customer Service, but I have a feeling it's becoming a systemic problem, considering the filthy eating conditions that were found @ Sci Fi. That place wouldn't pass the health inspections in my town. :upsidedow

After we left Cava, we decided to head around to all the countries and get some snacks. Like I needed more food, right!?

First stop was Germany at the Karamelle Kuche. That place is slowly becoming my favorite snack place! I got the caramel popcorn and a chocolate covered strawberry with caramel drizzled on it! I think the total for here came to about $7.67 for the two but I used snack credits. I had a lot left for today and planned to use them all today!

The chocolate covered strawberry was delish. I could probabaly eat 4 of these strawberries right in a row they are so good. The chocolate and caramel on a strawberry is magical! Dessert #13

The caramel corn was just okay this time. It must not have been as fresh as it normally is when I get it. I highly recommend saving some for the next day. It is so soft the next day and I like it much better that way. I don't like when caramel corn is really crunchy but some people might. Dessert #14!

Next up is the obligatory stop to get a Kaki-Gori. Perfect in the Orlando heat. They moved the stand to right in front of Japan instead of off to the side. And of course the 4 food 9 Asian woman that works there all the time was here today! I think the Kaki-Gori is about $3.25 maybe and I did use a snack credit. I got the honeydew flavor, which is the only flavor I ever get. This snack was perfect. And yes, this is Dessert #15, it is made of sugar after all!
DisneyJune2011372.jpg

After this is where the real gluttony comes in. I have been waiting to get something from the Boulangerie Patisserie in France and have never got anything but have always looked. This trip it was a must! I had two snack credits left and this was supposed to have been my last day in Disney so I decided to use them both in France 20 minutes before my dinner at Via Napoli!!:lmao:

Needless to say I got the Creme Brulee and Napoleon. I forget the prices on these. I asked her to package them up so I could try them at dinner. I got this huge box that I had to carry with me.

So we headed to Via Napoli and sat in the waiting area when I decided to open the box of goodies.

Here is the creme brulee and napoleon.

I actually had to wait to eat these when we sat down at Via Napoli, so here I am eating two desserts as an appetizer!! Lol!!! This was the day of so much sugar. This counts as dessert #16 and #17.

The creme brulee had a great flavor but it was very liquidy and was sliding all over the place in its container. I don't know if it was because it was outside when I walked from France to Italy or what but it wasn't a good texture. I would still get it again because it had a good flavor. The napoleon was the real winner. It was so good. The creme filling was sooo good. It was very sweet though so I literally had only 4 bites. I will definitely be getting this next time I go to Disney so I can finally have the whole thing.

Next up: Via Napoli and another Dessert!!

mmm a margarita sounds so good right now :thumbsup2

Yes it does!! =)

I wound up sending them an email with a link to the picture too.... I get that it's a dimly lit restaurant and things might be hard to see, we've been there many times. But it's inexcusable (to me) to have it be like that and if I need to be a brat about it and be a squeaky wheel to get them to clean up their act, pun intended, I will.

Youll have to let me know too if you get a response! I hope maybe we just got a dirty booth but I bet most of them need to be deep cleaned.

Well Rachael,I can vote for the Mex CS minus the churros! We shared a huge nachos [b/c of a review in a book I read] They were awesome. I think I'd try something else next time. The churro was hard as a rock, so we fed it to the birds. shhh!!:rolleyes1

This reminds me! Just in case you want a GREAT DISNEY REVIEW BOOK to read MOUSEJUNKIES! is so funny & cute. I'm sure you & anyone on the boards will enjoy it. It's so much like the reviews on here. I can't wait to get the 2nd one!:thumbsup2 Everyone might know about this. IDK but it's great! My entire family enjoyed it. & that's saying a lot for a brother who makes fun of me & my sister for being "obsessed" w/ WDW. He is now a fan of it on Facebook!!:lmao:

I definitely do want to try the new Mexican counter service. However, thats disappointing about the churros because thats what I was most excited about! As far as Mousejunkies is concerned, I have actually read it!! You are right it is hilarious. I love that book. I wish they would come out with another one. I wonder if the writers are on the Disboards! I am sure they are. come out come out wherever you are...?

I know!! Eeek guys! So gross!!! I think they would do something. Look @ The fact they sweep the streets @ night. I mean think about it? Who cleans streets @ night w/ a giant machine, lol!!! Who knows maybe someone has already ssen this post. :scared1: I sure hope so.

Just read on to see links were sent...good. See everything will get cleaned up. Thanks for that! Keep us posted!

That is right. If they are so worried about keeping their streets so clean they should really worry about their restuarants!

There is no excuse for that! They should have helped your Dad even if you were staying offsite, much less at another Disney resort! What has happened to Disney Customer Service?:confused3

I did think it was a little weird, unless it was the Club level desk and they only help club people.. Still they should at least try to help!

Mmm them margaritas look great but wow at the price of your meal and drinks! :scared1:

Yes I know those margs are super expensive!!!

I absolutely agree. I don't know what's happened to Disney Customer Service, but I have a feeling it's becoming a systemic problem, considering the filthy eating conditions that were found @ Sci Fi. That place wouldn't pass the health inspections in my town. :upsidedow

I only ran into a couple of things that were questionable but I hope it doesn't get worse next time I go!

Yum! You got everything that we got at Epcot too.

Our Creme Brulee was excellent but we ate it just moments after getting it so maybe yours just started to wilt a little. We thought the napoleon was fabulous too, I can't wait to get back and get another one.

Rachael, where did your mom get the Fantasmic platter for $14? I have never seen that before, and definately want to find it in August. You said she had it as a late night dinner. Sounds great, and looks great.

Great report so far!

We had the original cheesecake at Sci-Fi with popcorn as the treats - I think the red velvet one looks lush I hope they have that next time we go :)

I just saw, there is another one coming out. I'm "friends" w/ the author on FB. I think it may even be out, but IDK it just says 2011.

Wow, that was a lot of snacks. The choc covered strawberry looked delicious. I cannot believe how big the strawberries are there!

I started reading this yesterday and love it! I think I may do my own review on the next trip. Can't wait to read/see more!

Hi there!

Great job so far! You have my font! :thumbsup2 LOL.

Loving those Epcot snacks, especially the napoleon.

Your title definitely convinced me to check out the reviews... and I'm glad I did! I think you've done a great job with the reviews and pictures!! :thumbsup2

Looking forward for your next posts :goodvibes

Wow at the snacks! Love the choc covered strawberry - can't wait to try some!

Lol at having the French bakery goodies as an appetiser! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

That chocolate covered strawberry is huge - I wonder if they grow them at the Land along with the 9lb lemons?

I wondered that too! It was only a 15 minute walk at the most but maybe it shook when I was walking!

It is from the Fantasmic area at one of the booths! I am not sure about the price either but that sounds about right. It looks yummy, huh?

Great report so far!

Thanks for reading from London!! I looooove London!!!!!

Cool! I will have to check if I can find him on Facebook!!

Wow, that was a lot of snacks. The choc covered strawberry looked delicious. I cannot believe how big the strawberries are there!

Lol it is kind of embarassing huh?? Now I know why I am more round. The chocolate covered strawberries are incredible from there! And they keep them in the refrigerator so they are nice and cold too!

I started reading this yesterday and love it! I think I may do my own review on the next trip. Can't wait to read/see more!

Haha, can you automatically set up your font so you never have to change it because that can get annoying. The napoleon is so good and I have never had it before.

Lol! That lemon is funny looking!

Now onto my last Disney table service of the week! How Sad!! I was really looking forward to Via Napoli because we are Italian so we love Italian food and Via Napoli has gotten great reviews so far!

Once again Mom and Dad and brother were late again by about 20 minutes. Via Napoli wouldn't seat me until everyone was there so I had to wait. They joked around with me when they got there and sat they couldn't seat me anymore. WHAT! I about had a breakdown...

So they proceed to take us to the absolute worst spot in the entire restaurant( besides the communal table). A high top table tucked into a corner with absolutely no room to set my "appetizers". I just had to hurry up and eat them so I could get rid of the humongous box!

Here is our view. I guess it was cool to see them working but I really did not like our seats. And plus, my mom hates high tops.

DisneyJune2011385.jpg

I'm sure we got bread and butter but I dont really remember it to be honest. I think it was just plain bread, but maybe with some olive oil.

I knew I had to get pizza here. I would have been disappointed if I did not get pizza here because that is what they are known for. I knew it was boring but I just had to get it! Here it is
DisneyJune2011387.jpg

It was good but it was boring. If anyone has ever heard of Punch Pizza it tastes exactly like that, fresh Neapolitan pizza. I probably should have got something else but I didn't.

Mom and Rachel got the Veal Parmigiana. I tried a bite and the red sauce was good. I would have preferred chicken but the veal was good. It comes with fingerling potatoes on the side.
DisneyJune2011388.jpg

Dad and Josh got the spaghetti and meatballs. This was pretty small of a portion, at least I thought.
DisneyJune2011390.jpg

Apparently, Dad did not like this... When we got back he told me at work (we work in the same office) "I don't know why you are obsessed with Disney food. It wasn't that great. That spaghetti and meatballs wasn't that good." Whatever that is supposed to mean...

Jessica got some sort of pasta with mussels in it. This does not look good to me.
DisneyJune2011389.jpg

Next up, dessert! My 7th dessert of the day!!!

Here is a menu of the desserts.

DisneyJune2011395.jpg

It was cool because we got to watch the dessert chef making all of the desserts. I took some pictures of her making our desserts.

Mom and Jessica got the tiramisu which was homongous! My mom did not like all the cocoa powder on top. I told her that's how it always comes but she didn't believe me.
DisneyJune2011400.jpg

We literally had to force Josh to get dessert. He didn't want it; he was desserted out! Dad and Josh both got the Gelato Frizzante. This had vanilla gelato, San Pellegrino Aranciata, and something else. The Aranciata is an italian soda and I was really weirded out by the description but I wish I would have got this. It was sooo good! It was like an orange cremesicle, very light and refreshing.
DisneyJune2011401.jpg

Rachel got the Amarena cherry sundae. This was also very good!! I tried a bite of it and it got a cherry in it which was very very tart but still good. I wish I would have even got this!
DisneyJune2011402.jpg

I got the Zeppole, which is fried ricotta cheese fritters. Dessert #19. This was just okay. It has got amazing reviews but I didn't love this. It was too much, and I am sure it had something to do with the fact that I had the napolean(half) and creme brulee before dinner but I should have gotten something lighter. The whipped cream was very good but the chocolate sauce was way toooo bitter!! I forgot to take a picture of mine when i got it because I was too busy with everyone elses.
DisneyJune2011403.jpg

Another thing that was horrible about our spot was the temperature. It was absolutely freezing in there. I was shaking I was so cold. I just wanted to leave to go outside because I was so cold. Once we walked out into the main area it was soo much warmer. It was just our tiny little corner must have gotten the air straight on. BRRR, I get cold just thinking about it!!

All in all I give Via Napoli a 3 out of 4. The food was pretty good, it was very pretty in there, but our seat was horrible and it was way too cold. I think I would like Via Napoli over Tutto Italia however. I was surprised at how much seating was in here. There is even a little enclosed porch area.

After Via Napoli my sister and brother had to say goodbye to my Dad because they were going back to Old Key West and we were going to Pop. It was sad because I don't know when they will see my dad again. Mom, brother, and sister live in Ohio and we live in Minneapolis.
DisneyJune2011409.jpg

FYI...I had the worst night sleep ever this night. My dad snores soooo loud so I had to sleep with my music on in my ears and every time the music would turn off I would wake up and then yell at my Dad to stop...Next thing I know I woke up to him coming out of the bathtub in the comforter. He tried to sleep in the bathtub!!!:lmao: WORST night sleep EVER!

DH and I are both looking forward to eating at Via Napoli. So sorry you were stuck with such a bad table and nearly froze to death. Nothing worse than being cold when trying to enjoy a meal.

Your pics of the meal are wonderful. I am sorta like your Dad, being Italian myself I never find what I order out to be that great. Go figure I have 3 Italian meals planned for our October trip. Via Napoli , Tutto Italia and Tony's. Have never been to any of them. I asked DH if 3 Italian meals were too much and he said no how could Italian ever be too much. :rotfl:

I have to agree that I just loved your pictures! :thumbsup2

Oh and yes, I am following along from Heidelberg, Germany! I am not from here, just living here for the second time in my life!

I hope you do more reviews in the future, you have a very enjoyable style to read!
