When we went last year in December I really wanted to go to La Cava del Tequila but we never ended up going.

This trip I made sure to tell my mom months before that she was going to be drinking margaritas with me in Mexico! She did not object!

After we got off Test Track we headed back to the World Showcase the shortcut way and it dropped us off right by Mexico. Even though we were only out of the 95 degree for 20 minutes it was still much needed to head down into the air conditioned Mexican pavilion.

Here are some menu shots.

I ordered the Jalapeno margarita with lime juice, jalapenos, cucumbers, and tequila. I was expecting this to be delicious but I didn't love it. I was hoping it was spicy and it wasn't spicy at all. It just kind of had a weird taste! I love the red salt on the rim though!! I liked it better than a regular marg but I didn't like it as much as I thought I would.

My mom just got the regular plain margarita! She was freaked out by all those weird combinations of margaritas on the menu. Not me though!!

We also got Chips and Queso Blanco. MM, this was good. It was a white queso with tomatoes and peppers in it and it was very good. I loved it!

Jessica and Rachel both got virgin drinks.

Here is me and my mom with our margaritas. She was weirding me out in this picture, I think. Haha! Mothers do that..

The total for this "mid day meal" was $46.86. Yikes! That is expensive. The two non alcoholic drinks were each $6, our margaritas were $12.50 and the queso was $7.

I can't believe the UK doesn't have butterfingers.

I can't believe that I can't find the Butterfinger chocolate bar in Ontario!! I have to buy Willowcrisp to get the same sort of effect.

I cannot wait to go to Cava this trip! I've already picked out what I'm getting and it's 4 months away still I'm going to get an original margarita with a pomegranite floater. That thing looked delicious in another picture I saw!

Cava looks like fun but unfortunately I don't like tequila I know, I know. The queso looks really tasty though!

They have cute Mickey shapes on every car so I took a picture.

After I took this I realized just how dirty these carbooths are. Since it is so dark in there I wonder how well the bussers actually clean the cars. How often can they deep clean this restaurant? It just kind of grossed me out a little bit.

I've enjoyed reading your review but I just can't get past the amount of filth on the seat in this picture!! You would think they never turn the lights on at the end of the day and I'm sure if it is this filthy on the seats where the customers actually touch, how gross it must be in all the other nooks and crannys about the place!! I've eaten here several times and enjoyed it, it's a fun place but now...oooh I don't trust it . Yuck! Good on you getting the picture!!

Its kinda like one of those out sight outtta mind things... I love Sci-Fi and I am sure we will go back, and thankfully we dont eat off the front of the cars

I so want one of those Margaritas, the Avocado one sounds yummy!

That's what you would be sitting on, it's food that's been spilled and never cleaned up, over and over again. Hopefully it's only food, bit of mold too I'm sure, and who knows what else .
Unfortunatly if I go back, and I'd like too, the cleanliness of the place will now be foremost on my mind.

I've enjoyed reading your review but I just can't get past the amount of filth on the seat in this picture!! You would think they never turn the lights on at the end of the day and I'm sure if it is this filthy on the seats where the customers actually touch, how gross it must be in all the other nooks and crannys about the place!! I've eaten here several times and enjoyed it, it's a fun place but now...oooh I don't trust it . Yuck! Good on you getting the picture!!

I agree & wonder if Disney Parks saw this if they'd do anything about it if they were presented the picture. That restauarnt was on our list but now I'm not so sure.

I don't believe this is the norm at all and that the management of the Sci Fi needs someone higher up step in here, but it's a worry that the whole place is a dangerous mess at the moment! I'd skip it this year, or at least give it a miss if your trip is in the near future but after that I'd think it'd be sorted. Hopefully!

It was gross after I looked it. It was like there was layers of filth stuck in those cracks!! At a restaurant I worked at we had to deep clean the booths and chairs all the time so I don't know why it wouldn't be any different at Disney!

i would still try it out. If you are worried about the booths you could always sit at one of their picnic tables in the back which hopefully shouldn't be too dirty.

I wound up sending them an email with a link to the picture too.... I get that it's a dimly lit restaurant and things might be hard to see, we've been there many times. But it's inexcusable (to me) to have it be like that and if I need to be a brat about it and be a squeaky wheel to get them to clean up their act, pun intended, I will.

That is my plan too! Sunshine Seasons has great desserts but thats about it I have come to realize. I really want to try the new Mexico counter service too!

Well Rachael,I can vote for the Mex CS minus the churros! We shared a huge nachos [b/c of a review in a book I read] They were awesome. I think I'd try something else next time. The churro was hard as a rock, so we fed it to the birds. shhh!!


This reminds me! Just in case you want a GREAT DISNEY REVIEW BOOK to read MOUSEJUNKIES! is so funny & cute. I'm sure you & anyone on the boards will enjoy it. It's so much like the reviews on here. I can't wait to get the 2nd one! Everyone might know about this. IDK but it's great! My entire family enjoyed it. & that's saying a lot for a brother who makes fun of me & my sister for being "obsessed" w/ WDW. He is now a fan of it on Facebook!!

I know!! Eeek guys! So gross!!! I think they would do something. Look @ The fact they sweep the streets @ night. I mean think about it? Who cleans streets @ night w/ a giant machine,lol!!! Who knows maybe someone has already ssen this post. I sure hope so.

After Animal Kingdom we took the bus to Yacht Club for dinner and got there about 1/2 hour before our reservation at 6:30.
The night before my Dad had rolled onto his glases and snapped one of the entire sides off..So he was trying to find electrical tape or something to use but they wouldn't help him here because we weren't staying here. Needless to say, he wasn't a happy camper about this(glasses breaking). The entire trip he had to try to balance his glasses on his nose using only one of his ears.

There is no excuse for that! They should have helped your Dad even if you were staying offsite, much less at another Disney resort! What has happened to Disney Customer Service?
