DAY 21 - Magic Kingdom - Sanaa - Magic Kingdom
We all woke up this morning, still feeling full from last night’s meals, so decided to head straight to Magic Kingdom before eating. We hadn’t ridden on the steam train during this visit, so that was soon rectified as we made our way over to Toon Town.
The first stop was in the judge’s tent and a short wait in the Pixie Hollow line. The line for the Princesses was noticeably shorter than the line for the Fairies, but within 10 minutes we were greeted by Fawn, Tinkerbelle and Terence.
Once out of the tent, we headed across to Goofy’s Barnstormer. I decided to sit this one out and take photos of Emma and Sue, who had managed to get the front seat. I positioned myself on the outside of the loop, waited for the plane to arrive and pressed the shutter button

Shock horror............the autofocus decided it had had enough and would not work. My trusty Sony compact, which I had taken most of this year’s photos on, had called it a day. Luckily, I still had my DSLR camera back in our room.
By now, hunger had kicked in and so we made our way to Columbia Harbor House for lunch. (sorry no photos)
Emma: Chicken Nuggets with fries + Chocolate cake + Diet Coke
Sue: Fried Fish Basket with fries + Apple Crisp + Water
Nigel: Fried Shrimp Basket with fries + Yoghurt + Apple Juice
Suitably refuelled, we headed across to the Haunted Mansion and then we did a first for Emma – Swiss Family Treehouse. I always find this a bit of a nothing, however the lines were quite small and it was another one crossed off Emma’s ‘to-do’ list. Jungle Cruise is a ride we rarely do and as the lines appeared quite short we decided to wait. What a mistake!!!. The line snaked around corner after corner and we finally reached the boat after 50 minutes. I think that this needs a change or update, and until that happens, I think I may have ridden it for that final time.
Next was a meeting and photopass photos with Jasmine and Aladdin (again – no photo’s) and after that, we wandered back across to Main St, to watch the parade. Walking past Crystal Palace, we had 10 minutes with a CM friend of ours, his name is Jim (the ragtime pianist) and he plays the white piano outside of Casey’s Corner. We first saw Jim many times during the early 90’s but only got speaking to him in 2005. He immediately took a shine to Emma (who was 6 at the time) and each year they have had a photograph taken together (Had to do this on my phone this time). It’s amazing how Emma has grown and Jim has hardly changed. I always ask him to play Black & White rag and Maple Leaf rag. This year Emma got to play the last note for a few of his songs!.
We made our way down to Main St station, where I videoed the parade and then we left the park to get ready for tonight’s ADR
This evening we had a ressie at Sanaa in Kidani village, Animal Kingdom Lodge. The AKL security, gave directions and we parked in an underground car park. At reception, we announced our reservation at the front desk and a staff member said that we were in the wrong building. A double check with another staff member and we were relieved to find that we were in the correct building. Our` table was not ready yet, so we were given a pager. We had a wander out onto the savannah viewing area, but not many animals were visible as it was still baking hot. Soon the pager was flashing so we made our way inside, before being shown to our table and our server explained each item on the menu.
Emma: Chicken in red curry sauce & beef short ribs with basmati rice + Chocolate cake + Diet Coke
Sue: Tandoori chicken with basmati rice + Vanilla-Coconut Rice Pudding + Diet Coke
Nigel: Sustainable Fish with Shrimp and Scallops served with seasonal Vegetables in a light Curry Broth + Vanilla-Coconut Rice Pudding + Diet Coke
The food was very good but the portion sizes were a little on the small side. As we were about to leave, we were greeted by ceremonial singing, dancing and instrument playing in the lobby.
We made our across to Magic Kingdom, where we watched Wishes and the Electric Parade before calling it a day.
