DAY 13 - Downtown Disney - California Grill

TODAYS VIDEO - ***'Wishes' Fireworks from California Grill***

An lie in this morning, and no breakfast due to eating late last night, so we decided to get the boat from OKW to DTD. Unfortunately when we got to the dock, the skipper told us due to bridge repairs, the ferry would not be operating for a while, so we drove there. We lost our bearings a few times in World of DIsney but managed to get out (quite a few dollars lighter).

Further stops were made at the Pin Trading shop and the Christmas shop for more purchases and then it was food time at Earl of Sandwich.
Nigel: Mediterranean Chicken Salad + Strawberry Parait + Apple Juice
Sue: Caribbean Jerk Chicken + 3 Berry Parfait + Water
Emma: Hawaiian Barbeque + Chocolate Mousse + Diet Coke

We returned to OKW and had a few hours at the quiet pool, where I managed to update the trippie.
Tonight we had ADR at 8:50 booked at California Grill on the top floor of the Contemporary Resort, so we returned to our room to get showered and changed.
We drove to Contemporary and arrived at the check-in desk at 8:35, we were shown to the lift which took us to the dining floor. As our table was not quite ready, we were given a pager. I went out onto the observation platform to take some night pictures over Magic Kingdom.

The pager lit up, I checked my watch, it was 8:55. Our server guided us to our table, it was in the centre of the room, at the M.K. end.
We were given the menus, and left alone to make our choices
Sue: Pan Roasted Wild Caught Halibut + Bananas & Caramel + Diet Coke + 2 Twisted Mai Tais
Emma: Oak Fired Fillet of Beef + Valrhona Chocolate Cake + Diet Coke
Nigel: Oak Fired Fillet of Beef + Valrhona Chocolate Cake + Diet Coke

After our main course, our server said that we could watch Wishes from the observation deck, or stay at the table, as the music would be piped inside. We decided to watch from outside, together with quite a few other diners. I never realized how widespread the fireworks are released – as can be seen from the opening minutes of my video.
After the display, we returned to our table, and noticed it had been cleared and the soft drinks replenished. We then ordered our desserts, which arrived within 5 minutes.
Overall, a lovely evening, and one which we hope to do again in the future.
We left the Contemporary at 11:15 and headed back to OKW and time for bed.
