May or may not be a cultural thing, but I don't like talking on the phone in general (except DVC, I guess), and my wife knows all of my personal/medical stuff, so why not? If I were to call, and then my wife asks me "so, what did they say?" and I will always tell her, what's the difference?

Not sure what country you're from, but is it a common cultural thing there to hide that kind of stuff from your spouse?

I see calling about MMB as a proxy as the same thing, but clearly everyone else does not...

Just because we call the doctor ourselves does not mean we hide it from our spouses just like we teach our children, what you can do yourself, you should not ask others to do for you.

On top of that we have GDPR, I can’t even call our IRS on my DW’s behalf, not unless she is next to me and confirms to the IRS that they are allowed to discuss her tax matters with me. Same goes with doctors and hospitals. If they just allowed it then anyone with sufficient knowledge could call in and pose as another person, same with DVC.

You can't just call a doctor's office on behalf of your spouse and get medical information in the US either because of HIPAA privacy rules. The office will only share information if your spouse has previously signed an authorization form or provides verbal consent during the call.

We call for each other, tell each other everything. We do things for each other that the other can do. We are from 2 different cultures, yes his mom would be floored to know he folds laundry sometimes.

I just wanted to give an update on my MMB memberships (purchased for two of our memberships, different use years) and previous experience of not being permitted to purchase the one-time use "buy 12/get 12 free" points for our second (DH's) membership. (I previously purchased the MMB and BOGO otup points for myself, but when attempting to do so for my husband's MMB account it was declined.) Thanks to the very good ideas offered by some of you, today we had success with purchasing the points for my husband's MMB. As someone else mentioned, it is a long process that takes nearly an hour, but I am very pleased with this outcome. Thanks to all who offered input!

Great! Just so others do not get confused....MMB is not purchased for a membership. It is purchased for an individual...that is why each person who wants to access the benefits of BOGO OTU on a different co-owned membership has to be the one to call!

I’ve been trying to find the answer to this but haven’t been able to yet. If we have one membership with a February use year, and my spouse wants 24 one time points and I want 24…can we both pay the $99 and get up to 48 points? If not what’s the point of allowing both members to join?

If you only have 1 membership in this case the February UY then you can only get the bogo offer 1 time.

The point of getting the mmb for both of you would be that you can enter the lounge (in the evening) alone and don’t require the other one to be there.

If you only visit the lounge together then with only 1 membership it’s a waste of money to buy it for the both of you.

The rules for OTU points don’t change. You can only purchase 24 per UY.

MMB only impacts the pricing. So, there is no benefit for two owners to purchase for this piece.

So I finally broke down and purchased MMB. I didn't need it before now but I wanted to buy those 5d tix for family we're traveling with later this month.

I'm really interested in the Memory Maker package that we get. I called MS twice and both times I got a different answer to my question so I'm asking here ... since *I* purchased MMB, do I have to be the one to tap my magic band for all the photos for them to be included in the package? The last time we had a photo package (admittedly years ago), it would capture the photos from everyone on my reservation. There are times I won't be with everyone and I want them to be able to include their photos on my package (we're all in a 2bd together). Also, do I have to activate the pass somehow at the start of the vacation?

Bonus Q: does anyone know which characters are currently in the Epcot lounge? Is the lounge open at night for hanging out or is it just to get a pic with the characters and leave?

If you have the MM through your MMB purchase, you should be able to have all members of your party share in those photos. They'll all need to be connected through your F&F in the app. If they are in the park and get photos, they will see the photos on their app with the watermarks - but you should see them clearly in your app. You can download and share them at your convenience. The MM is activated when you download your first photo during the trip, and is only good for either 30 or 45 days - so don't wait too long to download the photos! Also, if you don't want to be the person in charge of the MM photos, you should be able to transfer the MM to another person in your party. The transfer can be done on the web site (not sure if you can also do it on the app) to someone in your F&F.

Sorry - I don't know for sure! But I'm pretty sure the lounge event at EPCOT is for MMB members from 5:30-8:30, so it's not just go in for a photo and then leave.....

We went to the EPCOT lounge earlier today and they actually asked us if we knew about evening hours and encouraged us to come back.
