2025 Lunar New Year Foodie Guide! (1/17 - 2/16)

Wonder if the pass is worth it?
If you only want a couple of items, apparently you can buy them individually - so that would save money and the guilt if you did not use all 6 coupons. If there are two of you, or you are going twice to DCA during the festival it seems like it's fine. It did encourage me to try a couple items I would have skipped otherwise. Magic Key gets a small discount ($45 vs $48). If you already have planned meals you want to get at the Park, this adds a lot of food you may not want.

I was thinking of sharing a single pass, between the specialty drinks , and a few food tasting , we could probably do 6 items....

If your items are above $8 ($7.50 with MK discount), it’s financially “worth it.”

I think they are pretty expensive for the size. We tried a couple of things but didn’t get a pass.

We were on vacation last week so today was my first day at the Lunar New Year Festival. I added photos of some food items in the Dining Reviews thread.

I really want to try the Almond Cookie Bread Pudding and the bread snake. Plus the lemongrass dumplings and coffee cake bundt. That's on top of Pym's and Lucky Fortune cookery. I only have 1 hopper day during our trip, I'll have to spend all my time at DCA eating lol.

That's pretty much what we did yesterday. Someone on the tram was strategizing what rides they were going to go on, in what order. We were strategizing where the shortest line would be for Sip & Savor passes and then which cart had the shortest line for ordering food.

Our first day in the parks is the last day of the festival and I’m really hoping they haven’t run out of the things we want to try! 🤞🏼

I wanted to post some pics after our recent trip and share our family's rating! I forgot to take a pic of the Scallion Pancake Tostada (8.1/10) but this was very highly rated by us and super tasty. I read that the chef used his mom's bulgogi recipe for the beef. So so good.

Oh! I also forgot to take a pic of the Taro Vietnamese style coffee, this was a 9.6/10. Good strong coffee the way Vietnamese coffee should be and not too sweet. Taro topping was very tasty.

1. Fire chicken wings: 8/10. Decently spicy, sauce stains your hands, wings were a good size too. Very tasty.

2. Spicy gochujang chicken taco: 6/10. As others have noted it's just the one taco. It was fine, underwhelming.

3. Strawberry Milk Tea Macaron: 8.5/10. This one always hits the spot, though, it wouldn't kill Disney to add the milk tea flavouring to the ears part of the buttercream and not just the centre.
4. Mini char siu pork shanks: 7.8/10. Bit controversial in our family, some loved, some did not. Overall I'd say the flavour could be a bit stronger but this was a very good dish and the rice was cooked well. I didn't mind the pineapple chutney.

5. Quesabirria egg roll: 7.4/10. Again a bit controversial. I liked this one, as I did last year. But it's a bit tiny for the price. Good flavour and the consomme was good.
6. Chocolate firecracker: 9/10. This one was DELICIOUS, the chocolate mousse was so good. But, the first one we got, we took one bite and then found a hair baked into it which was not amazing, so had to go back for a fresh one. That's obviously not going to happen for most of y'all!

7. Pho Dip: 7.2/10. I actually really liked this. There was a good amount of meat and I was not all turned off by noodles in my sandwich, but then, I do enjoy carbs. If anything I'd say it maybe had a tad too much bread. But the pho broth was tasty.

8. Garlic noodles: 7/10. Nothing wrong with these at all, but a bit simplistic.

Overall, we had a great time at LNY!
