"We have made the difficult decision to cancel your port call to Kusadasi, Turkey, because of the current situation in the broader region. Instead, your sailing will include a stop in Rhodes, Greece. While we realize this is a change from the original itinerary, we are excited to offer a stop in the popular port of Rhodes to provide the best possible experience to our Guests."

I am glad they changed it...but now I have to figure out a whole new island

I'm not glad they dropped this port, it was one of the reasons I booked this cruise specifically. Having been to Ephesus in the past, I was really excited for my wife and kids to experience it. The historical & religious significance of it cannot be overlooked.

Furious they dropped the port. And that they replaced our port with Chania which I have little interest in.

Would of much rathered Rhodes. Very annoyed.

What is wrong with western Turkey anyway?

Chania was always on the itinerary. Rhodes is the new port in place of Kusadasi.

May be they change their mind again. Im on the spc on Monday and New Caledonia was dropped and replaced with extra time in Fiji and 250 obc… earlier this week they changed their mind and we re back on new caledonia and half a day at fiji…

On the 9 night cruise, Kusadasi was replaced with Rhodes. On the 12 night cruise, Kusadasi was replaced with Chania.
Ah, thanks for the context. I hadn't even looked at the 12 night itinerary after I did an initial check on the cost.

We had Turkey dropped last year-about 2 weeks before we left. This didn't surprise me. I was disappointed. Not much you can do. They subbed Mykonos, no other compensation. I would have preferred Rhodes. That is a great port stop.

We are on the 12 night cruise as well, now going to Chania. Also wonder why they dropped Turkey. We live in Europe and didn’t hear anything unstable about Turkey, lots of people still go on vacation there. Oh well, haven’t been to Chania either yet.

Whats the current situation.
I am wondering the same thing! So sad for all of you. We loved our stop and visit to Ephesus in 2013. I think Disney only made it there one other time after that.

I think it may have more to do with what's going on in the Red sea than Turkey. I've done very limited research, but Disney may not be the only one.

If you haven't been to the Lindos acropolis on Rhodes, you might consider that as an alternative consolation prize.
