Thanks for setting this up! Very much looking forward to seeing what "fresh new elements" Communicore Hall brings to the festival this year. Fingers crossed we'll see demos, tastings, specialty meals, Party for the Senses and more this year!! Now, with a later start, when do we suppose we'll get more details??

If you go by the last festival prior to COVID-19 (2019), info on the special events was released on 5/11/19 and reservations started on 5/14/19.

My figment loving daughter said "What if they give figment an apron and a hat to wear!" oh man would that be cute

Thank you for setting up the new thread. Super excited to be back for Food and Wine. I can not wait to see the booth menus and any special events. I have 3 days on my September trip all for Food and Wine (and Epcot in general, it's my favorite park).

I can't believe it is a whole month shorter than last year. I wonder why that was.
The July starts began post-pandemic. Even then, there were still some booths that didn't open until later in the festival. I'd imagine it just wasn't profitable for them / didn't entice enough people to book a trip in and of itself / people weren't spending enough money. I think most locals for sure wait until the weather is a bit more tolerable (summer is our inside season ). Purely my guess. I am sorry for those visiting in late July/August who were hoping to see it.

F&W Festival Dates:
2024: 08/29 - 11/23
2023: 07/27 - 11/18
2022: 07/14 - 11/19
2021: 07/15 - 11/20
2020: 07/15 - 11/22 (did not originally announce an end date; 25th anniversary)
2019: 08/29 - 11/23
2018: 08/30 - 11/12
2017: 08/31 - 11/13
2016: 09/14 - 11/14
2015: 09/25 - 11/16 (20th anniversary of festival)
2014: 09/19 - 11/10
2013: 09/27 - 11/11
2012: 09/28 - 11/12
2011: 09/30 - 11/13
2010: 10/01 - 11/14
2009: 10/01 - 11/14

Fantastic post! :thumbsup2 Thanks for the detailed info!

My theory is Disney reviewed the books from last year and decided it wasn’t worth running the booths in the summer heat. F&G was shortened to cut off the hottest times and then they did the exact same thing with F&W.

A little part of me also wonders if some of the demand for booth dining has died down from Covid times as people are no longer afraid to dine inside.

Im gonna guess it's just typical Disney budget cuts to save on labor(booths always had lines when we were there last mid-August). It's no cooler 8/29-9/20 than the 1st 4 weeks of August.

I agree with this and see it as a return to normal, especially considering that some booths didn't open until later anyway. Personally sometimes I like Epcot without a festival. Hopefully along with a shorter festival we also get a more substantial festival, meaning a return to tastings, seminars, and special events.
