So - if you have any jars of baby food in the house, could you please look and post the types and calories?
Thanks! :)

My 5yr old has just started moving up to some table foods and the only thing two things I have in my cabinet right now is the natures goodness from walmart we have the stage 1 chicken and gravy it has 120 calories and sweet peas and it has 40 calories.

ETA~ the peas are stage 2

Thank you.. :) I remember - waaaaaaay back when I was a kid - there was a "junior" baby food that my mom would let me eat occasionally.. (I even had stomach problems back then..) I'm pretty sure it was Beech-Nut - noodles and beef or something like that..:confused3

I thought maybe baby food would be easy to digest - and since I currently only weigh 84 lbs., I would want to lean towards the ones with the most calories.. (I already drink a minimum of 6 bottles of Boost a day, but the Boost just isn't enough anymore.. I feel like I'm starving to death..)

Baby food isn't particularly calorie-dense - if you can tolerate coconut, coconut milk (or coconut oil) added to your Boost might be a way to get an extra slug of calories easily.

do you want the pureed foods or would any type of baby/toddler food work. We love the beechnut brand but you can only get it at winn dixie here. I don't know what the calories are for the stage 2 but they have one it is called sweet corn casserole and it smells so good.

All babyfood is is cooked and pureed food. You could make that at home for much cheaper and get more calories by eating more of it. But my guess is that if you're having trouble with other things then you'll have trouble with baby food too.

I know the stage 3 mixed foods have the most calories but they are chunky with mixed ingredients so I'm not sure how easy they might be on the stomach.

Spoke with the doctor today after I had my test done and he said to go ahead and give it a try.. The most that can happen is that it won't agree with me and I'll have to stop eating it..

As of tonight, I'm going to start keeping a food diary to try to track what does and doesn't sit well in my stomach..

Thanks for the info! :)

What about full fat yogurt or cottage cheese? Those are pretty nutrient dense.
