2021 DVC ressies w/o park tickets

We have a resort reservation at BWV (on points) for January 2021 with no park tickets. I called DVC MS today to see if we could call them tomorrow to purchase park tickets and then make online park reservations. They said DVC members with 2021 reservations are not eligible to purchase park tickets tomorrow and that they do not have an estimated date on when we will be able to. She said tomorrow is only for people who are paying cash, not with points. When I pointed out that people without 2021 reservation or park tickets will be able to do so, and make park reservation, on June 28th, she said that we still would not be able to purchase park tickets on that day either. The Disney website says “If you have a room-only reservation at a Disney Resort or other select hotel for a stay in 2021, please call the Disney Reservation Center or call your travel professional beginning on June 24 to upgrade to a vacation package with tickets—and then make your theme park reservations.” Is the “vacation package” what is preventing DVC from having the ability to buy tickets? I don’t feel that DVC members should necessarily be given a head start of those paying cash, but it sounds like we are going to be placed significantly behind those guests. If 2021 guests paying cash for their room can buy tickets tomorrow, why would DVC members with January resort reservations not be able to do that too?

I have marathon week booked and no tickets. I had an annual pass for me that hadn't been activated yet but I got a refund for that when our May and then June trips were goners. I should have kept that. Though there are 4 of us going. So now what? Can we buy APs or not even those?

Following.... This really has put us in a weird position. I have an AP that now expires on Nov 11th with the extension. Would we be able to buy a new AP when ticketing does open? I don’t want to wait until my current AP gets to 60 days to extend.

I am not sure if AP's can be purchased now since I didn't check on that- we were looking at 10 day park passes. We usually buy AP's but we have two people on the ressie that won't be going back within a year. We heard that there will be only a specific number of AP's allowed in per park, per day, we didn't want to chance that we could get in and they couldn't or vice versa, so we decided it would be better for all of us to have the same ticket types. It doesn't make any sense. If I were you, I would try and purchase tickets tomorrow. I know we are still going to try. Good luck!

Did they happen to say why we would need to wait until everyone can make ressies and buy tickets for 2021 and not the same time cash pay with existing ressies could do it (tomorrow)?

They stated it was for room only reservation for 2021 that could be upgrade to a package with tickets and DVC points is a separate area which doesn't have "packages" in that sense.

I am so glad I did not hesitate to buy my AP Vouchers for my next trip in April. Shortly after I bought, tickets stopped being sold.

Wish I hadn’t hesitated. I sent an email and tried to chat and was calling to try to talk to someone about the AP I wanted to buy when they stopped sales. So much stress surrounding planned trips right now. Is it even worth it? Not so sure, but with DVC we are stuck.

UPDATE: I spoke to a CM (WDW) this morning after 2.5 hours on hold and was told that they cannot sell tickets to people with DVC ressies using points. She suggested I try DVC MS, which I am now on hold for. I am reading on other sites that MS is telling guests to call WDW phone number to get tickets because they cannot make packages. It's a vicious circle. I just find it hard to believe that with all the extra points available due to 3 months of closure that they would not allow us to also book park tickets to get some of those points used up when people with existing hotel ressies (and now people can purchase new 2021 vacation packages starting today!). This trip is to celebrate my daughter's college graduation and MIL's retirement. So disappointing. I will still hold out hope that it will work, but this is beyond frustrating.

That’s very disappointing to hear. It seems terribly unfair to not allow DVC members with resort stays to not be able to buy tickets for 2021 when cash room only reservations can.

I was told the same, and after trying the DVC line for 20 minutes, waiting in queue for another 45, was told that DVC cannot sell tickets at this time.

I called DVC MS twice, they informed me that only rooms reserved in cash could purchase tickets for their 2021 resort reservations. Not sure what that $30,000 was when I purchased DVC way back when. Wasn't that cash.... Now I have to try and get tickets with the general public on June 28th and then try and book park reservations. This doesn't seem right to me, anyone interested in BCV points? I hate Disney!
