2017 DDP Quick Service - Dessert??

Hi everyone! I'm new to the Disboards. Super excited (I know, I'm a dork!).
So my question is about the new 2017 DDP Quick Service Plan. I know the desserts have been removed form the meal credits. I know they now let you trade a beverage at a meal into a snack credit to be used at that time. So, being "frugal" and not a big fan of soda - could I do the following?

For my meal credit, swap out the beverage for a dessert and ask for a cup of ice water?

What are your thoughts?

Yes, that's a possibility if there are desserts that qualify as snacks under the dining plan. Keep in mind that you will also get 2 snack credits/night per person. This is a change from the 2016 plan which includes dessert with each meal credit but only allows for 1 snack per person per night. If you're not a soda pop drinker, you could opt for iced tea, lemonade, Powerade or Dasani bottled water. You can ask for a cup of free ice water any time.

However, if you're really "frugal", you'll want to evaluate whether the QSDP is worth the price to begin with. At $46+/night per guest age 10+ (about $20/night for children under 10), you could be paying a lot of money for the convenience.
