2016 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: September 14 - November 14, 2016

What all seafood does the Ireland seafood fisherman's pie have in it? I'm nervous about eating anything with scallops (I'm not allergic but my mom is; the allergy hit her late in life and I wouldn't want to encounter that situation when I'm at WDW).

I have no good answer, but Disney is pretty good about disclosing all ingredients, especially where allergies are involved. If it's not listed, it's not in there.

I noticed soda floats, mango bubble tea, and a pumpkin chai tea shake, all non alcoholic
Yes. There were just many more available on our past trips. :(

I count 7 options just from last FLOWER & GARDEN... just about 3 for FOOD & WINE seems like too few... particularly when most of them are tea beverages... not exactly an awesome choice for kids... and they're at the festival, too! :)

From this past April F&G Fest... much better selection, I think:
  • Frozen Desert Violet Lemonade
  • Frozen Simply TropicalTM Juice Drink
  • Frozen Lemonade (Non-Alcoholic)
  • Sweet Tea (Non-Alcoholic)
  • Watermelon Cucumber Slush (Non-Alcoholic)
  • Fresh-squeezed Watermelon Juice (Non-Alcoholic)
  • Martinelli’s Sparkling Cider (Non-alcoholic)

Hi

We are arriving at the tail end of the F&W. Is the last day, Monday, Nov 14th a busy one?
Last year we were there last 4 days, Friday thru Monday. Monday was the least busy. Friday & Saturday were busy but not the huge lines I expected after reading Disboards ;)

Great, thank you. That is helpful in my planning. We have never been to F&W so I thought if there was a day that wasn't crazy busy (Sunday or Monday) that we would spend the day there.

Honestly I was expecting a mad house, but we spent lunch +/or dinner at Epcot each of those days. Saturday was busiest but I don't think I waited longer than 10-15 minutes in any line. Sitting was difficult but we were blessed with perfect weather so strolled around with food & drinks, 6 yr old son in tow. BTW last year was our first time, loved it so much we're headed back next week.

Can anyone confirm that the following kiosks will accept the sampler vouchers for drinks or food?

Chew Collective
Chocolate Studio
Joffery's Coffee and Tea Carts
Refreshment Coolpost
Refreshment Port

Thanks :goodvibes

That's not what I said or implied at all. But why not have an Ethiopian booth, or a sub-saharan Africa booth, or an Equatorial Africa booth, or anything other than treating a massive area (minus Morocco) as a homogeneous entity? I'm not saying we need every cuisine in Africa to be represented, I'm just saying they could be a bit more specific. We are going to Epcot to learn about the world, right?
So you're saying instead of a generic Africa booth to make it of a specific African country? Not replace other booths with African countries?
So an Ethiopian booth instead of an African booth?
I'm not a huge fan of African food but as long as the change doesn't remove another booth then it seems like it should be doable.

Personally I find it more ridiculous that Disney thinks Chai tea belongs in Ireland, but since I happen to really like chai I won't bother complaining.... ;-)

Thank you so much for your post. Your photos and descriptions are excellent and helpful. :)

There are ETB tickets available in the Chase lounge. Yay! Glad that is confirmed. Do you know any details about it? Are the tickets good for any of that day's shows? Or are they for one specific show?

We got there around 4pm and she gave us the choice between two times. 6:45 and maybe 8:00? We chose 6:45. She put the wristbands on us (quite tightly, I assume so we couldn't give them away/share?)

Yes exactly.

Offering a different perspective... by my count, there are about 31 different beers if you total up offerings at all booths. Seems like a pretty good selection overall to me.

31 beers spread across 30 booth locations is a lot of geography to cover to sample different brews.

Moreover, it's impossible to purchase many flights since all the samples need to come from one location. I want to try out different flavors. To me, that's what this event is all about.

JMHO but I think the extra days added to this year's event left its planners disorganized, resulting in less beverage options being offered and information being released late.

Anyone else find it weird that there isn't a Spain, Thailand or India booth given the popularity of their food?
Relevant comments I have heard over the years:

"Why does everything have to be spicy? I can't find chicken nuggets at all. I promised him chicken nuggets from America." (Not sure who "him" was. I'd assume DS but as you see daily on these boards, it's just as likely to be DH.)
"This would be better if it was America-only Food & Wine with different foods from different parts of the country. No more of this weird foreign crap."
"I don't know why they need Spain, Brazil AND Mexico. It's the same thing."

I guess I just don't agree with this. It's such a small physical distance to travel all the way around World Showcase. Seems like it'd be nice to pace oneself sampling beers around the whole arc.

Different takes. :)

:rotfl: :thumbsup2

Just another example of how there is NO WAY to make everyone happy! There's only so much real estate available! :)

MrsScooby pointed out the chai at Ireland, and the buttered chicken at the Africa booth is also Indian. So there is some Indian food, we just can't call it that for some inexplicable reason. Baffling.

Too funny. Though speaking of American food, it would be nice if they had a BBQ marketplace. But we'd probably just got a bunch of kvetching that it isn't this style or that style, not cooked right yada yada yada.

Too bad Disney doesn't want to be edgy. They could have a Lebanon and Israel booth side-by-side. Falafel and more falafel.
