2016 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: September 14 - November 14, 2016

The only thing I obsess about is getting my passport stamped at every booth. Other than that we just wander hitting booths as we go.

Tell me more about this - do you have to purchase the passport? And then do you have to make a purchase to get it stamped? It sounds like a great way to make sure you don't skip or forget any booths.

They're free & they come with stickers. There are no stamps this year.

Personally I find it more ridiculous that Disney thinks Chai tea belongs in Ireland

^^^^^ Yes!

Anyone else find it weird that there isn't a Spain, Thailand or India booth given the popularity of their food?

I would love any of those booths!

I'd go to the Falafel & Wine Festival.

Preach!

A little dry and not enough filling but it tasted pretty good. I'd say it was about 4 bites.

Thanks! I'm not sure now if I still want it or not.

I haven't seen anything about the cranberry bog, did it return this year or was it nixed?

Has anyone heard back from the ticket requests for The Chew tapings? I sent in my request only a few hours after the dates were opened. I haven't heard anything.

Oh my goodness the DIS video captured how I have felt every time I have spent an afternoon in Epcot lol! Starts out ok but by the time you get about halfway just miserable drenching in sweat. The struggle is real guys and I felt your pain :rotfl:

Inspired by the Dis guys video I tried the Kielbasa and Potato Pierogi from Poland tonight

I enjoyed it but the onion was a bit much so I just left that. Then, also inspired by them I tried the Grilled Spicy Edamame from Japan

It was excellent but messy on the hands. As you can see they didn't really sprinkle the spice evenly. I also tried the Spicy Hummus from Morocco but I didn't take a picture cause it was the first thing I ate and I was hungry and it was so good. If I weren't on my mission to try something from every booth, I'd get that again. Then for dessert I went with Belgian Waffle with Warm Chocolate Ganache and Whipped Cream from Belgium

This was the longest food line I waited in all day, it was probably around 7 pm and I waited about 10 min. I was worth it.
Speaking of lines, I went to pick up my tickets to the wine tasting and food demo for today and that line took 15 min. only one person working and she felt the need to chat with about every other person. If anyone didn't know, even though you make and pay for your reservations in advance for the little $15 wine and food seminars, you still have to pick up a ticket. You get them from the information booth at the Festival Center and you can only get that days. There were a number of people in front of me in a wine tasting I attended who didn't know this and refused to go get one since they had a confirmation they paid. They were allowed in but make it easier on yourself and just pick up your tickets. You can do it at any time the day of.

Love hearing all of the reports. We will be attending for the first time next year, so I am preparing now. I just don't know how we are going to find the time and stomach space to fit all of the food and drinks I want to try. DH will do the half marathon, so he might have room the day after.

What are the size of the beer and wine pours this year? Sorry if someone has mentioned it and I missed it!

I'd like to know the same. I did notice that the sampler package disclaimer stated that the entitlements are not valid on beer servings over 6 oz.

Do you think those words mean that most beer samples are 5 or 6 oz?

After watching that video I am now questioning the wisdom of my decision to go tomorrow instead of the end of October like I've done in the past. I've been to WDW end of September years ago and remember it was hot. Hope I can handle it.

Me too, I had to go back to my room mid day and change.
Ugh that is such a non magical feeling too lol! We will be there this weekend and that is one thing I am not looking forward to. I think the only time we have actually completed the full walkthrough of WS at an enjoyable rate is the year we took a trip in early Dec. I sometimes think about how nice it would be if they would open up WS at 9am, temp wise. 11 really only gives you a little time before things get toasty and evenings are generally still quite warm and crowded.

It's been a pretty humid week and with the exception of Tuesday when the skies opened up for hours, it hasn't rained so it's pretty sticky. Tonight was actually pretty pleasant at Epcot, I went back around 5:30 or so and it wasn't bad.
