OMG that made me laugh! My mother is afraid of snakes! She just got back from GF but was in a CL room and didn't mention any creatures.

I never gave snakes a thought until I read posts on these boards a few years ago. I loved our first floor WL room as we overlooked the main pool and our Poly first floor room was great as well, but it was after those 2 stays that I read those posts, so now no more first floor rooms for us :rotfl::rotfl:.

Well. The slithering creatures has made my decision very easy. I will be requesting a room on 4. Hahahaha

I don't blame you .

My parents live out in "the country" near PA in NJ, and have had snakes crawl up the side of the house to try and get in the windows...my mother keeps the windows closed if the screens aren't up. The snakes also sun themselves on the front steps...

Too bad I didn't know about the critters before they went to GF because I would have told her all about them! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

STOP WITH THE SNAKES! AHHHH. I AM GOING TO BE THINKING ABOUT THIS CONVO IN DECEMBER WHILE TRYING TO GO TO SLEEP IN MY $350 per night room at the GF. LOL :)

I would have to move :rotfl2:.

You will be fine. The GF is such a beautiful resort that this won't even come to mind once you're there :goodvibes.

Things can come in your room on the bottom floor ... We left the patio door open and in came a duck! If it had been a snake I would of had a heart attack!!!

Blue so how many chocolates, shampoos etc did you end up packing home

Dormer didn't I read somewhere that new rooms do have sofas? Still don't like the solid balcony though :duck:

I think I read that the dormer rooms have sofas too. Can anyone confirm? We are thinking of requesting a dormer (I like upper floors too) but there are 4 of us...two are kiddos though (8&5). I don't want to request it if there aren't extra places to sit.

It looks like we're becoming GF-addicted before we even arrive. We just added another night to our stay, so now we'll be there from Aug 28-Sept 2. Our 60-day window opens this weekend. Woo hoo!!!

Does anyone know when the first reservations for SL open up post-renovations? :confused3 I'd anxiously awaiting reviews on it!!! 19 days until check-in!

I have a question....we usually drive down, but this time I'm considering flying (SW). I know very little about ME. On departure day, how many hours ahead of your flight time are you picked up?

Sorry about the double post....thought the first one didn't go thru...

I think it's 3 hours..

Oh a duck in the room would be hilarious!

My experience is that DME picks up 3 hours prior to departure time. That is the worst day of our vacation. DH says the video played on the bus is heartbreaking.

As far as the charms at M. Mercantile, they were there last year, but have noticed that the selections are getting smaller and smaller.

I believe the new SL rooms open July 1. 19 days for us too until GF SL!

Three hours is about what I would have expected. Almost makes me want to rent a car so I can stretch out the leaving for another hour or so! :rotfl2: I live near Atlanta and we have to allow 3 hours from leaving the house to departure time, when we fly anywhere. Of course, Atl airport is a lot bigger than MCO!

A comment on the creatures coming into the first floor rooms....we usually have upper floors but last year had a first floor room. I NEVER left the patio door open after having read that post from someone who had a snake take up residence in a shoe in their room!!!!!!!!! :scared1:

Awhile back someone posted a pic of a duck in their room at the Poly as it just wandered in through the patio door. I couldn't believe how it just stood there, but it was the cutest thing :goodvibes.

I can't confirm, but I too remember others saying the dormer rooms now had a couch/daybed :).

Congrats on the extra night. It's always fun adding days on ::yes::.

Not sure if this is any indication of SL being completed (or very close to completion), but I looked online and found availability with a 6/30 arrival date ;).

MaggiesMom is correct. DME picks you up 3 hours prior to your flight. From posts I've read (we've never taken DME), it's been recommended to be at the resort/DME pick up spot ready to go 15 minutes prior to your scheduled pick up time as sometimes the bus arrives early.

Oh a duck in the room would be hilarious!

That would be alot easier to handle than a snake :rotfl::rotfl:.

WOW! Quite the active thread yesterday. I had a few pages to read this morning :surfweb:

Snakes.....THIS is why I requested an upper floor ;)

So excited!!! Our Magicbands arrived yesterday. Girls already tried them on but we put them right back in the box for packing:thumbsup2

Very unhappy that Disney has decided to monkey around with the July park hours this late in the planning. They TOOK AWAY the EMH on Sundays and moved to Saturdays. Hello?? We already made our plans for dining and FP+. I don't mind them adding hours but closing MK earlier really sucks. I was able to change our evening dining ressie to give us an extra 30 minute earlier evening arrival at MK so that we have more time for rides but I can't change it to any earlier or it messes up our daytime plans. We had planned a late night at MK and sleeping in the next morning with a late arrival to EP. Now we don't really NEED to sleep in but I don't dare change our FP+ times because they changed the tiers since I scheduled and it would mess that up too! OK....I vented a little and I am going to take a deep breath, count to 10, and everything will be okay.......:bitelip:

Me again! Sorry, I should probably look back at the first page or two before asking this but since the thread is so active, and you are all so quick and informative with responses, this works easier :) Can anyone tell me what DME resorts the GF shares and if GF is always the last stop? Just wondering if we should take the DME bus which will take longer, but we get to watch the new videos (we haven't been for 3 years), or book a town car and get there quicker.

Thanks

GF is the last stop. Going to airport, someone please correct me if I'm wrong, it is WL, CR? and Poly. GF is last
