Ferrentinos - 7 weeks from today, both our families will be arriving at the GF in SL! I'm looking forward to it.

Hope all my friends have good day.

Hello to all my GF friends:wave2:

I hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day Weekend. The weather was beautiful here.

I was able to make all of our FP+ this weekend and I got everything I wanted and at the time I wanted too.:thumbsup2 I was so happy to get Anna/Elsa on our last park day and I was able to get 3 different days for 7DMT.:)

Thanks for the beautiful pics Lisann. I love the rooms, lobby and hallways. They are so elegant. And yes I do love that blue color too.

Hope everyone has a great day!:goodvibes

Will be staying at the GF for the first time in January. There for a conference with a discounted rate, so assuming they will default me to standard room at Sago Cay unless I make a request.

Will be with wife and kids (ages 2-8). Thinking of requesting a room in Big Pine Key or Boca Chica with an unobstructed pool view (i.e not behind that big building near the pool). Is this a reasonable request? (pool view is not an upgraded category right?). Everything seems pretty close to main building, Gasparilla, and transportation.

Any advice would be appreciated. Not interested in upgrading room/view.

Thanks!

Wonderful suggestions! I think that she'd love to watch the movie on the beach - we figure we will be back from dinner in time to watch the EWP before bed that night. I'm so excited for a few hours alone with DH in Disney - we haven't done that since before DD3! We love, love, love our family vacation time but we are really excited about some adult conversation and a little peace and quiet over a lovely dinner! :goodvibes

Glad that you liked my ideas! :goodvibes The very first time that my DH and I decided during a Disney vacation to venture out for a couples nite I was so worried...:worried: ..for naught....our kids had such a great time at the Neverland Club ( forgot the new name..??) that they didnt want to leave when we went to pick them up...lol...and we totally enjoyed our adult nite out! Sometimes its nice to have a break from total togetherness! ;)

How nice to be staying at the GF for a conference! :goodvibes ... I am thinkning that "standard" rooms = garden view rooms...and BPK and BC both have standard GV rooms...so those requests do sounds reasonable...:thumbsup2

Shout out to grannieminnie Hope that you are having a simly GRAND vacation! :goodvibes

MickeyNut While I am curious about venturing a bit and trying some of the resorts that we have never tried...AKL is just not on the list... I have trouble staying at any place other than the GF..lol...:lovestruc

~ Guess who still has not even put one thing in her suitcase...:hippie: It was so much easier when the kids were little and we could just pack for them....

Hoping that everyone is having a terrific Tuesday! :earsgirl: preppy GF gal who is dreaming about eating a Mickey premium bar soon... lol..:mickeybar

It won't be long now until you are actually eating that Mickey Bar!:) My 17 yr. old daughter asked yesterday if she could start packing....I was like what!!! We still have 57 days.

Here's to hoping that your daughter puts something...anything...in her suitcase soon.:goodvibes

I contemplated getting the suitcases out soon, and we have 58 days lol.

Only 19 days??!! What - how did that happen? :woohoo:

Loving the room pictures and have a quick question - in the sink area are there plug ins on either side of the vanity?

We are staying at the GF for the first time at the end of July. I really need a day bed so that my daughters each have their own bed. Do dormer rooms have a day bed? I have seen conflicting reports, so I thought I would ask the experts.

Any requests I should make? I have never stayed there so I will take any and all advice! Thank you so much!

I just switched from the poly to GF now I need help! I need to know all of the cool things that you can do at the GF that a newbie wouldn't know! I am so excited it's stupid! :cool1::thumbsup2:dance3::yay::woohoo:

Also what building should I request for a refurbished room with a day bed? We are booked in a garden view room. Where are the best garden view rooms?? TIA!!! I am soooo excited!!!!!!:yay:

Six days!!! Actually less then that because today is almost over.

This last week is torture. I'm 90% packed! luggage tags are on and I'm so SO ready to go. This week needs to fly.

Twice we were brought dormer rooms and they did not have daybeds. I asked to be moved to another room. From what I have read here and have personally seen, the dormer rooms do not have daybeds. To be safe, I would ask that you not be put in a dormer room.

Morning All....:wave2:

:yay: The time will fly!! Pre refurb there were outlets on both sides of the vanity area..so I would imagine that has stayed the same...:thumbsup2

I say take the suitcases out now! I have a pile started already for our trip!

:thumbsup2 Never to early to take out the suitcases IMO!!

There is no definitive answer on this yet...Pre refurb there were not day beds in the dormer rooms...but the furniture has been rearranged..possibye allowing for a day bed in those rooms...not sure??? Sorry...But I will be happy to check when I am there..soon!!! :goodvibes

Everything on the grounds is really in such close proximity that requests would really just be according your personal preference...there is a map on the first page of this thread that will show you where everything is located on property... I always refer to this because its such a good resource...

Enjoy your first GF stay! :goodvibes

More Poly peeps jumping ship!! :wave2: As of the end of this month all of the outer buildings will have been refurbished..with the exception of SL..which is the outer building CL...and that should be completed by July 1st...as I mentioned above...the map on the first page will be a good guide as to what building you may want to request...my personal fave for GV is Boca Chica...love its proximity to the pool and the boat dock..not to mention the beautiful views of the courtyard pool and main building...but there are varying opinions..all lovely and you really cant go wrong no matter what building that you stay in! :thumbsup2

There are so many simple things to do at the GF that are enjoyable...strolling the lovely grounds.. relaxing in the lobby and listening to the pianist or orchestra playing in the evening...Watching Wishes and the EWP from the boat dock... and of course there are all the the fun childrens pool activities...Movies on the beach...campfire too...

:dance3: And good question about the outlets. I sure hope they do because I have 3 daughters and myself that need to do our hair and get pretty;). Luckily my husband doesn't have any hair because we need every inch of space.

I would request daybed and NO Dormer please. I requested No Dormer for our upcoming trip just in case. There's 5 of us and we stayed at the BC once in a dormer room and we did feel a little cramped even with the daybed.

Yay!!!:cool1: We first booked a garden view room before switching to SL and I requested Boca Chica upper floor-pool view. It seems to have the nicest views IMHO.

Good Morning Grand Friends!

Long time no "see"!

Didn't know if it had been posted or not, but items from the old resort rooms are being sold at Own the Magic-
the Hidden Mickey desk, the Mickey lamp, the art work.:(:( Some of it has to be picked up but I figured I'd pass it on to everyone in case they wanted a token of what used to be. :worried:
