Did my FP picks!! And on line check in for SL, where we'll be our first 2 nights! Tomorrow I'll do my next check in for GV room in Outer Building. I am going to request Boca Chica again. Loved our room/view there!

:grouphug:

We've never had any problems. When we leave our electronics, I ask the Bell Services guys to lock them up - we've even gone back in the luggage room, and seen them locked in a cage.

However, if I had sensitive info (work, especially) on my laptop, I probably wouldn't leave it with anyone.

HTH!:flower3:

With 40+ stays from POP Century to GF we have never had problems with electronics. However they do have lockers by the pool and at the parks if you want more control of your stuff. (Most pools have a locker area for day use with locks.)

We've stayed in a roll in shower room in Sugar Loaf three different stays. Loved it. Our last stay was a number of years ago now but at that time, there was a love seat instead of sleeper couch. As a result, the room sleeps only four. The bathroom is lovely. Have a great time.

Thanks :-). I want my mom to be as comfortable and safe as possible. silly of me to worry about bathrooms :bitelip:

My room should have 2 queen beds and a day bed. I hope since my 12 yo doesn't want to share beds anymore.

Thanks again. :goodvibes

 Hi everyone!

I just spent a nice chunk of my afternoon reading through this whole thread :goodvibes

We recently made the switch from WL to GF after hearing about the pool situation. We had originally wanted Poly and decided to go with WL instead because of the construction, so I'm hoping we haven't just jinxed all of our fellow September travelers at GF! Although, I'm thinking we'll be OK since GF just went through some extensive construction projects ;)

I've never stayed at GF before, but DH did when he was younger. His grandparents took their whole family several times and I loved listening to his grandfather tell me stories about their trips. He loved GF!

On the same day that we decided to switch resorts, we got a phone call that DH's grandfather passed away. This may be silly, but I've taken comfort in knowing that we will be staying at his favorite resort. DH will be able to reminisce about good times with his grandfather while we make new memories together.

Anywho, thanks for all of the wonderful information!

So sorry about your loss...Seems that the GF will be just the right place for your trip...:goodvibes

I am in the same situation as some others here as I bailed on WL because of the pool refurb and bit the bullet (thanks Disney for no help) to upgrade to GF. We have never stayed here before but we are so excited to try something new.

Quick room question in general - we have an outer building garden view room. We don't care so much about location but more about quiet at night. Are the GF pretty quiet in general? How close are the outer buildings to the main pool? A little noise is normal ( and we sleep with white noise, the best thing ever invented other than pineapple Dole Whip) but I'm just curious about how well the rooms are insulated from noise.

I think that the rooms are well insulated in general...but as Mickeynut said Sago is a bit more removed from all of the action..and in a bit of a quieter location...I would also request to be in a non connecting room...this would also help cut down on any extra outside noise..:thumbsup2

We need your help. I have read that in april started the rooms renovation in Sago Cay building. Does anybody knows if all rooms of this building are with the new decoration?. And the rest of the buildings?
Our trip is for 28 august and we want to be in a refurbished room, if no we prefer postpone the trip for nest year.

With the exception of the CL buildings..Sugar Loaf and the Main building..all of the outer building at the GF have been refurbished... so you will be in a refubished room for sure! :thumbsup2

Speaking of leaving carry-ons with bell services, do y'all feel confident leaving electronics like iPads with them? I can see how we might need to leave carry-ons both upon arrival & on departure day. I left them at the Yacht Club & didn't really "worry" about it, maybe just felt a twinge of uneasiness. I am assuming the Grand would have a similar set up. Just wanted to get a feel for how others felt about it.

As k&a&c'smom has said..we have just asked for our electronics to be locked up...and they then are stored in a separate locked area...they will also give you a separate claim ticket for those items...

Did my FP picks!! And on line check in for SL, where we'll be our first 2 nights! Tomorrow I'll do my next check in for GV room in Outer Building. I am going to request Boca Chica again. Loved our room/view there!

:cheer2: Hope that you got all of your FPP pics!!

Mickeynut :wave2: How are you doing..hope that you are feeling all better! ::yes::

k&a&c'smom Happy to see you back and posting regularly again!! :goodvibes

~ I know that I promised more of a food review from our trip...forgive me for dropping the ball...:p Cause it is always about the food... Here are a few things I wanted to add tho... Beside no chocolate covered strawberries..there are still no pecan sticky buns..but they did add a wonderful "brioche" bread to the breakfast offereings...a lite and very tasty kind of sweet bread...delicious!

~ My BB saga....booked a BB during our recent trip...I bet you all can guess where...;) But..we had to change our dates a bit...and... no GF CL available for the dates we needed...:crazy2: :faint: Imagine!! We were offered a few alternatives..and decided to go with the Poly!!! Yes Mickeynut you read that right!!!!....I know so many Poly and now WL peeps have been jumping ship...and booking the GF...no wonder I couldn't get a room...!!! lol... :upsidedow

Truly construction is not an issue for us...we stayed at the GF thru all phases of the recent VGF and pool construction and never regretted it... We also visited..aka snooped all around the Poly recently...and although I did miss the lovely lush green lobby..and waterfall...I think that they did a fine job with the walls..and rearrangement of things..JMO..YMMV????

So Poly CL here we come....:flower3:

I know that I should be on the Poly thread asking questions...but..so many Poly fans around that I figure I can just ask here where I feel at home !! :grouphug: So.... question number one....what floor do you prefer..and why??? Thats it for now...

Hope that all of my fellow GF fans are having a super Sunday!!! :earsgirl: preppy GF gal who is gonna be a Poly princess....lol...:upsidedow

I loved the new Gasparillas!! Without the arcade it is much more pleasant.

Me too!!! I haven't seen it in person, but just from the pics, I love it. We hated sitting there when the arcade was in there....it was just too noisy and chaotic :crazy2:. I'm so glad they decided to get the games out of there and put in more seating :goodvibes.

Did my FP picks!! And on line check in for SL, where we'll be our first 2 nights! Tomorrow I'll do my next check in for GV room in Outer Building. I am going to request Boca Chica again. Loved our room/view there!

Hope you got everything you wanted :thumbsup2. Yay for doing OCI :yay:....bet it makes your trip seem even closer!!

Not silly at all.....you just want your mom to be comfortable/safe .

Most rooms at the GF have a daybed, with only a few dormer rooms that do not (although, I think with the refurb, those may have a daybed now too ;)).

Mickeynut :wave2: How are you doing..hope that you are feeling all better! ::yes::

Hi Blue :goodvibes...I'm feeling alot better, thanks!!

I am still bummed about the sticky buns....those were my favorite......wish they didn't take those away :(.

Congrats on booking your first Poly CL stay :thumbsup2 (but I am sorry GF CL wasn't available). I haven't stayed CL at the Poly, but I do know that the second floor rooms do not have balconies, so if a patio or balcony is important to you, be sure to request first or third floor :goodvibes.

Ooh poly CL will be fun. It's all about the food anyways.:rotfl:

So we are staying at the grand Floridian for the first time in August!! We used to feel like the Grand Floridian was to expensive too "snobby", and just not for us. But last June when we had dinner at Citricos and 1900 parks are and honestly, we became interested in staying there. It felt a lot more laid backt than ever before.

So we had originally booked 5 nights at CR but yesterday decided because of medical bills that we can't swing the $2300 for ONLY the hotel. So we were going to switch to POR. I mean, seriously, who can argue with 5 nights for less than $1000. But we decided to do a split stay....3 nights at POR and 2 nights at GF. The 2 days we are staying at the GF will be resort days. We are only going to the parks for 1 day (day before switching to GF). I have some questions though (sorry in advance....kind of long)

1. We reserved a garden view room. For less than $100 more we can get a lagoon view. If we are going to spending a lot of time at the resort and on the balcony, is it worth the extra for the lagoon view? I'm just afraid of getting a less than desirable view with the garden view room.

2. What building should we request? We would like the be close to the QS restaurant because we will be taking our breakfast back to our room both days and same with any late night snacks or lunches.

3. Does anyone have experience with the QS and food allergies? I have 17 food allergies, including all of the Top 8 allergens. I've also been able to get some pretty good meals at POP, All Star Sports, and CBR. I know the deluxe QS are more limited in space than the values and moderates but would they accommodate something like burger no bun, sauted veggies (I can't eat raw veggies), or just a simple chicken breast with some veggies? I'm very easy to please with my food, as long as it is safe I'm very okay with simple food. If I am limited to just the chicken tenders and fries that's fine. In reality, what I care about the most is getting allergy free waffles!

4. we have an 8pm reservation at Citrics our first night there and the next night we have an 8pm at 1900 Park Fare. I am trying for earlier times but nothing has come up yet. If th fireworks are at 10pm, do you think we would be done with either meal in time to see them? Meals usually take an additional 20 minutes or so because of my allergies but I would like to hear other peoples experiences regarding length of meals so I can get an idea of what to expect

4. Finally, What are some "must do" things at the GF. I really wanted a massage but it's not going to be possible because of my chemical/contact allergies. Just too risky. I know we're going to spend time at the pool, and want to rent a speed boat. We're going to walk to the Poly because we've never actually walked around that resort. We have reservations at both 1900 Park Fare and Citricos.

This trip is very different from past trips. Usually we go to parks everyday and we are exhausted by the end but this time, we just want to relax at the hotels and swim, play mini golf, boat rentals, etc. only 1 day at MK. And the reasons this trip is different:

My mom is currently undergoing radiation treatments for breast cancer (luckily only stage 1 so surgery and radiation only, but the cancer found was very aggressive....so ladies, GET YOUR MAMMOGRAMS!)

At the same time, my grandma was diagnosed 2 weeks after my mom with a recurrence of her breast cancer from 30+ years ago. But by the time they found it, it had spread to her ribs and lungs.

And I've been dealing with my own medical issues that have just slowly been getting worse regardless of what we do. And I need a break from juggling 15 doctors and these 2-3 week Hospitalizations I've been dealing with.

And my dad....well he just needs a break. He is responsible for taking care of both me and my mom. He's also working, 1 income household, so he has all of that stress on top of the medical situations.

But we will be celebrating 5 things while there:
My moms birthday (June)
My dad's birthday (June)
My birthday (June)
My parents anniversary (3 days after we get home)
End of radiation treatments for my mom!!

I want to order something special for my parents for their anniversary to be waiting in the room when we check in. Is that possible? I was thinking maybe the chocolate covered strawberries with the chocolate Mickey. I saw the price on the first page of this thread but can I arrange for it to be in the room when we get there? And can the personalize just to at least say "Happy Anniversary"? Any other suggestions for something special for my parents? I am limited to about $125 total and I am open to any and all suggestions!

So if you made it this far thank you! We are so excited to be staying at the GF even if it is only 2 nights. I don't expect this trip to be "perfect". Nothing is perfect....I just want to do whatever I can to make it special and relaxing for myself, and more importantly, my parents.

Sorry you have so many medical issues to deal with, but you picked a great place to get away from it all. We run away to the Grand to escape the real world at least once a year. :goodvibes Hope you have a wonderful trip. :)

Not worth the extra IMHO. No bad views at the Grand. Request a marina view, they are considered garden view. There really aren't any bad views at the Grand, with the exception of a couple in Sago that overlook the back of the convention area.

2. What building should we request? We would like the be close to the QS restaurant because we will be taking our breakfast back to our room both days and same with any late night snacks or lunches.

Conch and Sago would be the closest, with Conch being my favorite. Sago is further away from everything else and you have to walk around the marina to get anywhere. Conch is also close to the courtyard pool and boat dock.

3. Does anyone have experience with the QS and food allergies? I have 17 food allergies, including all of the Top 8 allergens. I've also been able to get some pretty good meals at POP, All Star Sports, and CBR. I have no personal experience with food allergies, but I am sure the Grand can accommodate your needs.

I love the afternoon tea in the Garden Tea Room. I don't get to do it often because my DH won't go in there. :rotfl2: Sit in the lobby in the afternoon and listen to the orchestra and piano player. The speed boats are small and not very speedy, they just look fast because they are so small, I would suggest renting a pontoon boat. They don't go fast either but they are very comfortable.

What a nice idea, not sure but I don't' think they will deliver it to the room before check in any more...doesn't hurt to ask though. It can be personalized to say Happy Anniversary. Make sure to note on the ADR that you are celebrating an anniversary and birthdays.

Glad the brioche bread it good, but it is not a good substitution for pecan sticky buns. :sad2: I was told they were taken away because of nut allergies, so it doesn't look like they will be back any time soon. That's probably not the real reason but it sounds good. :rotfl2:

Yay for booking a BB. :yay: The Poly!!:scared1: JK, you know I love the Poly. :cloud9: I wouldn't hesitate to stay there during construction either, like you we have stayed at the GF many times during their construction. I even had rooms facing the construction and it didn't bother me...I don't spend much time in my room looking out of the window. It will be so sad to see the lobby without the waterfall. I will definitely miss that, but I'm sure they will do a nice job with the new lobby.

Hi mickeynut. :wave2:

Hi!

Just upgraded from WL to the GF for early December (first time staying. Very excited!), and wondered if anyone knew roughly when they start putting the big gingerbread house together in the lobby? Hopefully it's during our stay No. 30th - Dec 10th.

I'm sorry for everything you've been going through and I hope your mom does ok with her radiation treatments . It sounds like you have an amazing trip planned with alot of happy things to celebrate :goodvibes.

I can help with a few of your questions:

1. Like maxie86, I wouldn't pay extra for a LV either as there are no bad rooms/views (IMO) at the GF. Big Pine Key (one of my favorites for GV) overlooks the courtyard pool and has some "less desirable" views as some rooms look at the back of the pool house, but those aren't even horrible, IMO.

2. If you want to be close to Gasparillas, I think Sago Cay and Conch Key would be good choices (also as maxie86 posted ;)). Sago would be a little quieter as it's located by the convention center.

3. I don't have experience with food allergies, but I'm sure the GF would be more than happy to work with you for food options :).

4. I think an 8 pm ADR at both places is enough time to finish and catch the fireworks at 10 pm. Citricos could be cutting it a little close depending on how much you order (appetizers, entree, dessert, drinks, etc) as the more courses you order, the longer you will be there.

5. We loved the mouse boats when we rented them during our Poly stay. As has been mentioned, they don't go super fast, but they are fun. This may sound a little boring, but I love just sitting in the lobby or outside taking in the beautiful grounds. The GF is so peaceful that it's very relaxing to me to sit and watch everyone coming and going.

I've never ordered anything, but I think the strawberries with the white chocolate Mickey is a great idea ::yes::.

I know a lot of my answers mirrored those of maxie86, but I'm sure there will be others with suggestions as well :). I hope you have a great trip and enjoy the GF :wizard:.

Yay for booking a BB. :yay: The Poly!!:scared1: JK, you know I love the Poly. :cloud9: I wouldn't hesitate to stay there during construction either, like you we have stayed at the GF many times during their construction. Hi mickeynut. :wave2:

Hi maxie86

I'm another one who wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Poly during construction. Now if my stay was during the pool closure in the summer or another time when it was warm/hot and swimming weather, that would be a deal breaker for us as we love our pool time :beach:.....but the construction wouldn't be an issue for us. I am very sad about the waterfall being taken out of the lobby :sad1:. I saw an artist rendering of the new lobby and I didn't care for it at all. Not sure how I will feel when I see it in person, but right now I'm not in favor of it. I will say, though, that I do still love the Poly and I'm sure we'll enjoy our next stay (which will hopefully be next July :goodvibes).

Hi!

Just upgraded from WL to the GF for early December (first time staying. Very excited!), and wondered if anyone knew roughly when they start putting the big gingerbread house together in the lobby? Hopefully it's during our stay No. 30th - Dec 10th.

I think the resort decorations start going up sometime around Thanksgiving and although I don't know the start date of the gingerbread house, it should be up for your stay. Hopefully someone else will be able to give some insight with a more exact time frame :).

I loved the new Gasparillas!! Without the arcade it is much more pleasant. The pool bar menu looks really good. Crab cake sandwich, yum! I was going to try pool bar last year but never got around to it.

We missed trying the new pool grill, too, phooey!:headache: Meant to, but forgot.

Did my FP picks!! And on line check in for SL, where we'll be our first 2 nights! Tomorrow I'll do my next check in for GV room in Outer Building. I am going to request Boca Chica again. Loved our room/view there!

YAY! Very exciting.:goodvibes We love the garden views in Boca, too.

With 40+ stays from POP Century to GF we have never had problems with electronics. However they do have lockers by the pool and at the parks if you want more control of your stuff. (Most pools have a locker area for day use with locks.)

Good tip!:thumbsup2 I will definitely keep that in mind, though I doubt I'll want to leave my electronics out there in the hotter months.

..I would also request to be in a non connecting room...this would also help cut down on any extra outside noise..

k&a&c'smom Happy to see you back and posting regularly again!! :goodvibes

~ My BB saga....booked a BB during our recent trip...I bet you all can guess where...;) But..we had to change our dates a bit...and... no GF CL available for the dates we needed... :faint: Imagine!! We were offered a few alternatives..and decided to go with the Poly!!! Yes Mickeynut you read that right!!!!....I know so many Poly and now WL peeps have been jumping ship...and booking the GF...no wonder I couldn't get a room...!!! lol... :upsidedow

....

Good point about the connecting rooms, though we have had limited success getting that request at any WDW resort.

Sorry you won't get the Grand on your BB, but glad you were able to book a good second choice.:yay: We have been at the GF for many construction projects, too, but did not want to be there for the courtyard pool renovations. Too much noise in the courtyard area for us. That, and having the pool down, which is what would sway me most at the Poly.

To answer your question - as mickeynut pointed out, we like the 3rd floor in general at the Poly, due to many of the buildings lacking a balcony on the 2nd. However, we have asked for and gotten rooms in Hawaii on the 2nd, as that is the floor the lounge is on. When there in hot months, we don't use the balcony much, anyway, and the convenience factor won out.;)

So we are staying at the grand Floridian for the first time in August!! We used to feel like the Grand Floridian was to expensive too "snobby", and just not for us. But last June when we had dinner at Citricos and 1900 parks are and honestly, we became interested in staying there. It felt a lot more laid backt than ever before.

....
So if you made it this far thank you! We are so excited to be staying at the GF even if it is only 2 nights. I don't expect this trip to be "perfect". Nothing is perfect....I just want to do whatever I can to make it special and relaxing for myself, and more importantly, my parents.

Welcome!:cheer2: Sorry for all the medical issues, I can certainly understand wanting a less expensive vacation. My sister had breast cancer, I know what a strain it can be - and to have 2 family members at once must be hard, on top of dealing with your own issues. Big hugs.

We'll try to help as best we can.:)

1. As Maxie 86 posted, we don't find the lagoon views worth the extra money. The garden view rooms are so pretty, and you can request a marina view if you prefer to look at water rather than the courtyard pool.

2. The GF is not very spread out, none of the buildings are far from the QS restaurant (Gasparillas), but if you want to be very near, Sago Cay would be a good choice and you could ask to be on the marina side.

3. I have no experience at all with food allergies, but WDW is very good in general with it, so I am confident they will be able to help you. Just ask to speak with the chef.

4. You should be fine, although the Signature restaurants seem to be taking far longer in recent years. We've had nearly 2-hour dinners a few times, which is too long even if I didn't have somewhere I wanted to be! I would get there a little early, ask to speak with the chef when you check in and let your server know you are trying to get out to see Wishes.

4.b You mentioned several of our favorites! We love sitting in the lobby, listening to the music in the afternoon/evening, grabbing a snack or drink at Gasparilla's and watching Wishes at the marina, browsing the shops, etc.

Sorry, as Maxie posted, they no longer allow the amenities in the room prior to check in. Probably had issues with last minute room changes, etc.

You absolutely CAN have the strawberries personalized, just tell them what you want when you order. They can write Happy Anniversary and the names on the plate quite easily.

There are a few other things you could do. Champagne and truffles, flowers from the Disney florist, etc. Everything has gotten pretty expensive, though, so you might want to stick with your original plan and just add a special breakfast or something. Grand Floridian Cafe is a very good choice.:teeth:

Glad the brioche bread it good, but it is not a good substitution for pecan sticky buns. :sad2: I was told they were taken away because of nut allergies, so it doesn't look like they will be back any time soon. That's probably not the real reason but it sounds good. :rotfl2:

.... It will be so sad to see the lobby without the waterfall. I will definitely miss that, but I'm sure they will do a nice job with the new lobby.

HAHA! Just what I was thinking, the allergy thing is a good excuse.;)

We will very much miss the waterfall in the GCH, too.

Welcome!:goodvibes They usually begin the gingerbread house the first or second week of November, definitely by Thanksgiving. You should be good.:thumbsup2

Hey, mickeynut!! I missed your post while I was composing my looong one.:rotfl2:

We all had pretty much the same answers, great minds and all.;)

Thanks for the replies, that's exactly what I wanted to hear :) Would be amazing if the lobby smelt like gingerbread.

Hey there :wave2:

I had to laugh when I was posting because my answers pretty much matched those of maxie86 perfectly.....and now your's are the same as well .

You're welcome. Have a great trip and enjoy the GF :goodvibes.

Can I just say again how nice you all are? I just stopped over the one of the WL threads and I can't believe some of the nasty behavior!

My husband and I spent yesterday watching videos on GF on youtube and reading menus...we are excited but I am still torn because of the extra $500...and we can't afford it all until there is an RO.

MaggiesMomNJ.... for us, it's TOTALLY worth the extra $500. We have been debating whether or not to stay at the YC/BC or go back to the GF. Our last experience wasn't great at the GF, so I was hesitant. But our first experience was pure magic. I have been going back and forth and back and forth because the YC/BC is about $ 500 less than the GF. Then it dawned on my like a coconut falling on my head. It's the GF. We only go to Disney every 3 years...so not alot. Our last trip we were all kind of ragged because of the construction and we let it affect our trip. Should I hold that against the GF? NO!! pixiedust: I want to bring back the magic!

And let me tell you, there is NOTHING better than waking up at the GF and walking through the spectacular lobby and going up to the monorail. And then getting on the monorail to the MK or the ticket center to head to Epcot. Nothing. It's pure Disney magic. princess:

I thought, well, we could save the $ 500 and stay over in an Epcot resort and walk to Epcot.... or just do what my heart tells me. So fast forward to after killing my DH with the back and forth, I said to him, "I made a decision, we're going back to the GF". His reply? "Thank God, because you know I can't be without my monorail!" :rotfl2: And I'm forbidden from changing my mind, by the way!

So that being said.... I don't know how far out you are from your trip, but maybe you can start squirreling money away now to make up the extra. That's what I've been doing. We have our budget envelopes, so anything that's "left over" before the next pay period, I've been squirreling away in my secret spy Disney envelope!! In 2 months I've managed to sock away $ 420! I plan on keeping up that momentum and just surprising my DH at the end of next year that 1/2 the trip is already set aside. :thumbsup2

I hope you choose the GF in the end... it's SUCH a treat, it really is. And if you can eat at Narcoossee's once...totally worth it. It's always on our 'must do' list. We love it! Good luck deciding and have fun!! :goodvibes

We have until November! I was thinking even $50 a month would make it less to pay in the end.

Thanks for your feedback...I stayed at GF when I was 10...and yes, I remember that lobby!

Does anyone know how far Boca Chica is from the Main Building compared to Big Pine Key....someone recommended Big Pine Key because it is so close, but I noticed some of the view are obstructed. Any thoughts?

Ooh poly CL will be fun. It's all about the food anyways.:rotfl:

Ain't it the truth!! ;)..So no Poly tips Trish??? What floor is your preference??? any fave things to do and see during your stays there?? I know there is a torch lighting ceremony...??? But not much else... We usually visit to shop...of dine!

I now that k&a&c'smom has already answered your question..:goodvibes but I wanted to say Congrats on booking the GF...:cheer2:

Looks like your stay is probably mid November..so hang in there MaggiesMom :goodvibes ..there are typically RO discounts for that time of year...only exception would be some black out dates close to Thanksgiving....Hope that they will be released sometime soon so that you can get your planning all in order! :thumbsup2

DisFan07 Welcome!! :goodvibes Sorry for all that you and your family have been going through...I agree about those mammo...so important... I hope that you and your family have a absolutely Grand trip :goodvibes..I know that most of your questions have been answered...Just wanted to add my two cents about a few things...lol...:flower3:

Food allergies..My DD has several...our expereince at CS has been the same all over property..they do have a book available with detailed info on the food ingredients..makes it so much easier to decide what would be best to order...

Also as others have said...really not a bad GV at the the GF..and those marina views are considered GV also...so if you like looking at the water.. Conch Key would be a good request...

One of the nicest things at the GF is the ambiance of the lovely lobby...take some time to just enjoy sitting there ..evening time is especially nice with the pianist or GF Society Orchestra playing their wonderful music... :cloud9:

Maxie My traveling buddy!! :moped: I knew that you would chuckle about us booking the Poly....You know that I am a GF gal tried and true...but this maybe??? is just the nudge we need to spread our wings..a bit..:confused3 ??? :upsidedow LOL..Time will tell....As for the pecan sticky buns..I agree..think they are gone for good....

MickeyNut Glad that you are feeling better...:goodvibes and thanks for the Poly tips...:thumbsup2 I knew that you would have some!!

k&a&c'smom Thanks to you too for the Poly tips :goodvibes...I think I might be ok being closer to the lounge..you know...its always about the food ;)...lol...and not having a balcony...The sliders do open though to let in a breeze...and maybe the lovely sounds of the resort in general don't they..???

Hope that all of my fellow GF fans are having a magical Monday!! princess: preppy GF gal..and possibly Poly princess....:upsidedow

Hello Grand Groupies!!!! Happy summer :grouphug:

blueskies Poly??? Cool! We like having a patio :flower3: So 1st floor is a preference, HOWEVER for TPV I'd want the balcony...I am NO help am I???

maggiesmomNJ Sorry you had a less than magical experience on the WL thread. It's tied with GF for having the sweetest hostesses IMHO. Unfortunately I think the pool refurb brought a lot of interlopers who really affected the vibe of the thread...once the dust settles I encourage you to revisit! And I am sure you'll get a RO offer another thought is Orbitz....they run some great deals!!:thumbsup2 GF is not a big resort so there's really no building WAY out from the main building

K&a&c's mom Great seeing you posting!! :goodvibes

mickeynut Nice to see you on the WL thread yesterday

I'm currently at OKW for our August trip, and I think it's fairly firm. I have no desire to be over in the MK area until the pool/monorail/etc stuff is squared away...I need peace and quiet for my little guy! We will definitely visit the GF in memory of junglecruiser because I just have to!! :littleangel: Miss you friends and I will try to visit much more often ::yes::
